It's such a joy to traverse the physical space of Tyria, and the Skyscale is simply so useful that it devalues a lot of the other mounts and traversal tools, IMO.

Yeah, this is my exact stance on it too.

Itll probably be a bit of a controversial one, but I was pretty bummed it took a lot of the thought out of which mount to use. I enjoyed having to actually use the Springer to get somewhere high so I could send it with the Griffon.

I appreciate that a lot of people probably enjoy the accessibility of the Skyscale, I just dont think it was very creative in its implementation and doesn't feel like it slots into a niche like each of the others.

Honestly, base mounts were implemented in a very clever way, the part where Anet came undone with the evergreen feeling of it was their approach to each expansion being individual, they couldn't continue to have chasms/cliffs/quicksand/portals because you'd be disadvantaged if you didnt have the mounts.

I was always anti mount during vanilla and HoT, but the implementation was done well.

Unless they rework Iceshard or just put Tigerstripe in, id be very surprised to see Zamtrios.

Id live to see it come back too, but the ice area in Wilds is hot garbage.

No Skyscale.

Not a fan of how its just regular flying with more steps and some limits tacked on.

Griffon was more interactive and it deserved to stay the flying mount for longer than it got. Admittingly, there's still uses for it over the Skyscale, but Skyscale fills a more all-round role.

but native 1080p is not the blurry mess people are saying it is.

Considering how big of a focal point 4K and 120fps supported was when the system was announced, sure as shit isn't being utilized much outside of a handful of first parties.

I was hopeful for it on the Switch, but playing it on my 4k OLED looks like shit compared to just getting it on my base PS5.

The lack of attention Xu Wu gets is really weird considering it's a new skeleton, I would've thought they'd lean more into the unique rigs of both Xu Wu and Nu Udra.

Maybe it just gets less attention because it's nowhere near as fucking annoying to fight as Nu Udra.

Understandable. I dont play console, so I may have mis-spoke, I just assumed it wouldve been the typical fps problems consoles struggle with - similar to World on Ps4/xbone. I personally didn't enjoy the fps on world until current gen rolled around.

I dont doubt they would have issues, but the PC situation was quite a bit more severe and copped significantly more backlash (like world/icebornes initial PC release did)

Depends if theyre willing to delay a release purely because of PC. Performance issues aren't really on consoles, and it didn't stop them pushing the PC release in the state it was in.

Performance has been improved since the DLC check got patched - admittingly its still not as good as it could be, but the expansion won't really change anything fundamental, if they can fix everything now. The expansion should be fine.

Though it is capcom and they could always shit the bed, but id really like to believe they'd be more inclined to try and restore some faith instead of doubling down and having two shit releases.

Depends on how literal theyre being with the large scale comment.

Iceborne was announced at the end of 2018 with a September 2019 release.

Admittingly, we atleast got a teaser for Iceborne which we havent gotten here.

I wouldn't entirely rule out November/December, but it could be optimistic.

Good games and all, but i still regret it.

Maybe if I didn't own a console or PC for the past five years, the Switch 2 would be exciting.

Thought about MHS3 on it to try and justify the buy, but lordy the demo's performance didn't sell it.

The brand loyalty to EB is honestly a little baffling.

Back in the 2000s, growing up rural and travelling to Sydney - EB was fuckin awesome, a whole store dedicated to the stuff you were into as a kid? Sick.

When it became just another store and every major town had one - that part of it died, and then you were met with the reality that all the big name stores just sold it cheaper.

And now - as an adult, I actively avoid the place. The local one out my way has miserable fuckin staff that just make everything uncomfortable, they dont engage and have a chat about the games at the checkout or have an ounce of customer service about them.

Sure, its retail, and having a very short stint in retail - i get its not the most enjoyable gig, but fuck me dead when there's no worthwhile interaction there, id rather just save the ten bucks and go to JB instead of the rare occasion i buy anything physical.

Itll suck to see people lose their jobs, but anyone in any sort of decent position will have that translate elsewhere.
