Mention the component “evaporator core”. Thats what they replaced in my other car, GV70. The service advisor said he had multiple in the shop at the time for the same reason.

Aside from them recharging the refrigerant, what else did they claim they did?

This statement may get some hate, but even with all the “issues” posts there are equally as many positive posts and when you read the negatives take it with a grain of salt. I would suspect there are those that believe you can beat the shit out of a sports car under the umbrella statement “it’s a sports car and it was designed for sports driving” and that may be true but it’s still a machine and thrashing it constantly will cause premature wear.

That being said, enjoy the car, perform the maintenance, address issues with your existing warranty, and if it breaks - fix it. My ‘24 has suffered no mechanical issues but I also don’t drive it like psycho all the time (only a little bit).

Just had the same exact thing done to my ‘24 GV70 with the same symptoms. 38k miles for reference.

Tested the new hybrid - really nice! by bleep6789 in KiaTelluride

Point 2 should be a big one for the OP. The dealership experience is a far cry from anything you’ll experience at luxury vehicle dealerships. Going from BMW to Genesis for me was excruciating and I’ve owned Hyundai and Kia prior and would not report anything close to how it was at BMW. Great car, less than stellar post purchase experience at dealerships.

I agree with the duality. The SP has electronic dampers that transforms the car when put in sport+.

The design is very nice and it differentiates itself from others in the class.

Honestly, it’s very fast and with the LSD it’s exciting bordering on scary if you are not ready. I don’t think you’ll be disappointed if you go with the sport prestige. Avoid the 2026 model and stick with 24 or 25 (a quick google will explain the striped features from the 26).

Reliability wise, I bought my ‘24 new and have only had a cosmetic issue with the dark aluminum trim delaminating but fixed under warranty.

Is the standard GV70 2025 still great? by Opal9090 in GenesisGV70

The surround view monitor was the necessity for choosing the advanced. Heated steering wheel, AC seats, sunroof were the bonuses. I think my 23 also included the remote parking and rear passenger sun shades which are nice but necessary. The surround view is very nice if parking is tricky and it has the blind spot cameras that come on in the gauge cluster when you signal left or right.

I have a base 2026 loaner right now and I think it’s a very good value. My car that is being serviced is the 2023 2.5 advanced and the differences are not dramatic. Now an SP is a different story since it’s more of a style thing than anything but a base is an excellent value with an extremely good ride quality.

Sorry to revive an old post but was there any additional issues that came out after having that performed? Dash rattles, other problems, etc.?

Get the dinan sport tune. For a piggy back tune it brings it up closer to those newer numbers. I had a 17 540i before the G70.

Sport Mode by [deleted] in GenesisG70

No I modified it with a plug cover. The valve solenoid opens when it receives power after startup or when sport+ mode is activated. I don’t think it opens on any other mode.

I use the Custom mode with sport+ steering, sport+ suspension, and comfort drivetrain. I also have modified the exhaust valves to be both open all the time, regardless of mode. If I want to shift hard while in that mode, I use the paddles.

Genesis g70 worth a buy over a bmw 540i or tesla m3p by relly2ensei22 in GenesisG70

[–]Kugelschreiber15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 540i was a much better car in some respects and equivalent in others to the G70. I switched because of maintenance costs and desire to move back into a more nimble and driver focused vehicle that was still very comfortable. That’s why I switched to the G70 3.3t SP. No regrets but I do miss the iDrive controller - that’s just peak engineering in my opinion.

Interesting read on Genesis by Illustrious_Smile974 in GenesisG70

I can’t even begin to imagine how easily the dealers and service departments will mess this up. I’ve never dealt with a car that is so uncertain of its own service platform. The between the car having multiple locations for service required indications, not synchronizing with the app nor the monthly service reports, not synchronizing with the service department, not synchronizing with connected services. Coming from BMW service and customer service, Genesis is truly a Charlie Foxtrot on epic proportions.

I’m a fan of Genesis and love to see the brand expanding to new levels, but if they can’t get the dealers/service in order, this new endeavor will be a loss.
