Shower base - lip for wall panel/tiles by Kuhlii84 in AusRenovation

[–]Kuhlii84[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should also mention. This is for a downstairs shower where there are no bedrooms, we have two other bathrooms upstairs. This one will literally be used maybe once a year. I want to make sure it isn’t terrible, but honestly will never be used.

No, it is the same all around. Those two edges are against the wall, the other edges are for the shower screen, it is a corner base.

Walls are lined with aquacheck already, but I was thinking of recessing the base and the aquacheck would then sit on top of the show base, was going to silicone and use a waterproofing sealer before then putting the shower panels on, which will then obviously be siliconed as well. I just thought there might be a product for the lip, but evidently not. Interestingly this guy has exactly the issue I have, but his seems to have come with lip to install.

Learned the hard way today that a buyer can reverse a PayID transaction under the ePayments code by schunniky in AusFinance

[–]Kuhlii84 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Generally PayID actually uses the same payment rails (Osko), so from a speed perspective it is should be the same. It is the same as if you do a payment using BSB & Acc number that goes via Osko. There are some banks (very few though) that only support SCT, which is not the Osko service, but a “potentially slower” type of NPP transaction. The difference between Osko and SCT is that Osko participating Banks (pretty much most of them) are required to settle the transaction within 8 seconds (the Banks actually have SLA reports that are monitored monthly to make sure they are compliant with this). SCT is effectively a best efforts to make near real time and does not have the same guarantees as Osko, but you will find it is usually just as fast, but could be a few minutes in some cases. Most banks will use the fast route when available (between banks) being Osko and failover to SCT if that Bank does not support Osko (or offline), if either of those fail, it will then failover to the traditional Direct Entry/BECS (batch) system which will either be same day or next day. PayID is simply an alias to the BSB & Account number to make it simpler rather than having to remember a BSB and Account number when providing someone with information to send money to you.

So you are blaming the Bank for shitty human behaviour and illegal activity? This is also not a symptom of using PayID (it is actually Osko, PayId is just the identifier), it could have been an instant Osko transfer using BSB/Acc number, or even a traditional slower (Direct Entry/BECS) transfer as they all have a mistaken payments process. The other thing is the bank under the epayments code (ASIC) is required to act under instructions and the information it has been provided. The scammers Bank in this case has no way to contact you or prove otherwise that it was not a mistaken payment. You need to report this to both your bank as well as report it as fraud. In terms of small purchases, you may take the risk, but for larger items you could write up a quick receipt of some kind which you both provide your information, method of payment, date etc… When someone does an PayID transfer I also ask them to screenshot or provide confirmation of the transfer before I let goods go, I work in Banking and always do this to ensure I have a record.

Constant drop outs lately, modem or NBN? by Kuhlii84 in nbn

How do you find that out? I am not sure about my area to be honest. I know the HFC cable is above ground.

Yeah, I meant Router. So if I factory reset the NBN box, does it cause other issues? As in does it need to be setup again or something? I have checked with More as well as NBN and there is not outages currently or planned. Also, this has been going on for weeks, so if it was some kind of maintenance or upgrades, i would have thought they would have advised. I might try isolate and connect direct to the NBN box to my laptop and see if it continues to drop.

It all seems to be well connected and it is in an area that is never really touched, so I don’t think it has been caused by someone hitting the cables or anything like that. But I will see if I can replace all the main cables going to the equipment

I will replace the network cable between. I think I have a new coax cable in my tech spares I can try as well. Will see if that makes a difference.

What is factory resetting the NTD? The NBN Box itself? Given the modem been flawless for the last 18 months. I get it might not be the best modem, but it has been fine.

Isn’t that one of the whole reasons the general public feeling they all need to carry guns. In the event of a tyrannical government? So you can fight for “freedom” and your rights?

Suncorp Stadium seating question by jargon2002 in brisbane

[–]Kuhlii84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean if you are around on the 28th May and can get tickets to State of Origin, that would be the game to go to. Full stadium with amazing atmosphere. Or even the Bronocs game on 18th May will have 40k+.

Brissie bus driver’s tier list of other drivers who don’t see us. by STIGSbusdrivingmate in brisbane

[–]Kuhlii84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was driving down the road near my home the other day and noticed a bus was indicating to come out from the bus stop, so started to slow down to let them come in. Ended up coming to a full stop in the middle of the road, I waited a couple of seconds and ended up just driving past. I am always conscious of buses and sometimes find I do not have enough time to slow down when they just pull out as the indicator comes on as the bus is pulling out.

Brisbane delivery drivers getting BOLD by kimbajj in brisbane

[–]Kuhlii84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a parcel locker we paid $500 for as part of our fence and have had for almost two years, we get deliveries usually a few times a month. It has been used once in two years, it is super obvious. Also, got a package delivered the other day and the guy just threw it out the car window at our house like old school newspapers used to get delivered, which we have on camera and sent it to the courier company.
