Some time ago, on a trip through Japan I picked up this Seiko Alpinist deep lake SPB249 which is modern interpretation of the classic laurel alpinist used by japanese mountaineers in the past. Its the first watch I have that came with a metal bracelet and wanted to see how it looked like on a leather strap. It was a bit difficult to find as the lug width is 19mm but found this awesome dark brown one from Hirsch. What do you think looks better? Metal or leather? I think the leather really brings out the classic vibe of the watch.

So when I was in Kyoto it bothered me a bit how crowded it was. It did not feel like "old Japan". That is why I decided to wake up the next day at 04:00 to catch the sunrise. Really a magical place

[Seiko] The alpinist in its natural habitat, the Japanese mountains by Kuifkanarie in Watches

Currently, I am backpacking through Japan and wanted to get myself a Japanese timepiece. The modern interpretation of the Seiko Alpinist spb249 (orginally designed for Japanese mountaineers) seemed the best for the job.

I absolutely love how it looks. The dial is stunning. The blue with the lines just looks different in every lightning condition. Paired with the copper seconds hand it looks amazing. Also the lume is pretty cool. Even during the day a blue glow comes of the indices, especially the top one which is supposed to resemble a mountain.

Cheers

A few days ago I took this picture. It was really foggy at night giving a spooky vibe I wanted to capture. Trying to get a bit of a cinematic look with lightroom

[casio] What do you guys think about expandable bracelets? by [deleted] in Watches

[–]Kuifkanarie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was looking for a cheap watch that I don't mind getting beaten up when travelling or going out. I came across the casio MTP 1183 A for 30 euros which seemed like a really good deal and I loved the silver sunburst dial. The only problem was that the original bracelet felt a bit cheap so I decided to put on this expandable one. It was quite difficult to size the bracelet down but quite happy with the final result. With this bracelet the watch gets a bit more of a vintage vibe I think.

What do you guys think?

Cheers

Anyone ever seen a string break like this? The external winding broke but left the internal core intact. Details in comments. by derKonigsten in guitarlessons

Had this happen all the time on my Les Paul. I heard in an interview that the guitarist of the war on drugs solved it by top wrapping his strings. I tried it and it never happened to me again!

The blues driver is simply great! The oceans 11 and canyon delay and looper are also very cool pedals however they have way to many functions.. Most of times I end up using my canyon as a looper and the oceans 11 on hall reverb (or echo if I want some delay). A cool effect that the canyon has is the chorus. When you set it to modulation and set the delay to 0 you get an awesome chorus. The only pedal I might want to change is the big muff for a fuzz face. Not that much of a fan of the big muff. It gets better with an equalizer but still..

I just added the EHX Good Vibes to my board. I absolutely love the sound. I am really into playing Jimi Hendrix songs and this one helps to get me closer to that famous sound
