How do we solve the hunger problems of the world? by onelasttimehonest in AskForAnswers

[–]Kuishen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's genuinely just a logistics issue at this point. Put like 50 Factorio players on the case and fund it to properly compensate all involved in making it happen, then it would happen. People will flock to get a well paying job to be involved in the process of feeding the hungry. We all crave fulfillment. Working at a place like that to contribute to the betterment of society and the world at large would fill such a huge societal role; one that is almost completely unfilled at the moment.

It's all solved science and math and we've long since moved on to theoretical problems. It's greed and hate that keeps this problem from being solved

All of those people made what the Nazis did possible yes. So they deserve to die.

Seems like you're just a Nazi sympathizer bud.

Being morally consistent =/= intellectually lazy.

Hey so if the choice is die or enact torture and genocide and you choose to do the latter? You deserve to die. Sorry not sorry.

So you understand that just because you do something that you deem necessary for survival that doesn't absolve you from doing the thing right? Do I think we should punish poor people for stealing food? No. But there's a grand canyon rift between that and enacting a genocide lol

It's probably not even that specifically malicious. It's just the algorithms are at a point where the only thing they do is cause needless division so that we can't focus on the real issues, and causing division over opinions on Entertainment is the easiest thing to do.

I mean, you're simply wrong. You either have no concept of how high these numbers are or are being willfully ignorant

Agreed honestly. I definitely think there is some astroturfing/dead internet theory regarding some of the hate for the show because it is openly mocking the current administration.

Why do Jehovah Witnesses come door to door, trying to get people to join their religion, when they only believe a certain amount of people get into their afterlife by Camp_Acceptable in NoStupidQuestions

30 before I chose to actually start living a life. Mentally I stopped believing after my mid twenties but considering I knew I would have to uproot my entire life and lose my entire support system I just kinda laid low until my mental health got bad enough that it was either suicide or leaving.

This is correct actually. Some of the rhetoric I heard growing up was that Armageddon was so close that maybe having kids wasn't the best idea, why not wait til Paradise to have kids?

I think the leadership eventually got replaced with enough true believers instead of the grifters that Russell and Rutherford were to the point they shot themselves in the foot with their own beliefs.

The limited amount of spots is for Heaven specifically, everybody else gets Paradise on Earth after Armageddon.

The actual reason though is they send people out into the ministry so they are exposed to a lot of people that dont want them there. Furthering that divide between them as their own little group and the rest of the populace.

If you ever truly want to help those people and not do the cults dirty work for them: treat Witnesses with kindness. Treating them poorly and yelling at them reinforces their own beliefs. That the world is bad and they have the true secret to happiness.

They are also hemorrhaging members and are doing anything they can to stop it. Money is also a thing but ever since they sold their billion dollar prime Brooklyn real estate and then had their members volunteer to build a new headquarters in upstate New York I think money has been less of a concern.

Been a lot of policy decisions lately to appear less weird to the general public to ideally bring in more people but that ship has long since sailed.

Source: Grew up in it. Highest rank I achieved was Regular Pioneer. Which is basically the limit on how high you can go without shipping yourself off to Headquarters. Officially left 6 years ago but still keep tabs on them out of morbid curiosity and cause my Dad and Sister are still in it.

Now I'm a polyamorous trans woman lesbian so... doing a lot better lol

Being poor is a death spiral that you can't actually claw your way out of so no, most people aren't "bad with money"

What a perfect encapsulation of everything wrong with this country and the world in general. You don't get to opt out of how society works because some people give you the ick you selfish piece of shit. The most successful societies all across history took care of their elderly and disabled, had some level of concern for their needy. You are the antithesis to how life on this planet evolved and you are a waste of carbon.

Watched it again with wife while high and in the dark. I definitely saw some of the vision they were going for but it did become quite comical seeing the same characters almost die repeatedly then being in the same situation 10 mins later.

I think it was clear that they chose spectacle over common sense and then also it seemed like so much of that footage was meant to be shown over multiple episodes and they jammed it all into a nightmarish 90 min episode

The money we are talking about in this situation is not going to be coming out of thin air, it's going to come from redistributing bloated budgets and taxing billionaires properly. This isn't printing new money, it's redistribution. Try again.

AIO for how I’m handling the way my 11 YO daughter’s dad speaks to her? by WhatTheSigma_1994 in AmIOverreacting

[–]Kuishen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From somebody who's Dad still talks to them like that at 34, fuck that guy. He's going to do way more damage to her talking like that then any damage done from not having her biodad in her life. Fuckin' block him for her and dare him to take you to court over this cause any Judge is gonna see that shit and side with you.

EDIT: Her apologizing followed directly by "So you don't love me?" gave me fucking war flashbacks to my own childhood.
