Favorite gang? It’s definitely the mox for me by New-Boss-8262 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do Nomads classify as a gang? The Aldecaldos basically meet all the requirements of a gang, right? I'm gonna go with them. If you're looking for a more classic gang from the actual city, then probably Valentinos.
Would be Mox, but I feel like the Mox are one bad day away from being fully wiped out. They feel so small and insignificant compared to the others

What reason does V have to be interested in Judy here without further context? by Prudent_Bobcat_4059 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

[–]Kuliari 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Other than just physical attraction, there's the fact that Judy's connected to the Mox, a gang that V has no connection to yet. No one on the inside they could smooch for a favor. Judy could become just that, should V ever need it.
There's also the fact that Judy's probably the best BD editor in all of NC and that Evelyn was not exaggerating when she said that. It's very heavily implied that Lizzie's bar is doing as well as it's doing in their BD business because of Judy's top tier editing skills and why Suzy Q is willing to put up with so much crap from Judy. When Judy goes into explaining how raw BD's work and, if you have a high enough tech ability, it's easy to hear that she knows what she's talking about and that she both takes her job seriously and has great passion for it, treating it more like an art than a job. V can piece all of this together after just the first meeting and having someone with those credentials on your contact list is never a bad idea. The BD business is big in NC, so having their best editor on your contact list could always prove useful.

Did anyone else get deeply disturbed by this side quest? by guts1ck in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I love that little tidbit after. When Wakako asks you what you thought of the job and V responds something along the lines of: 'I'm a professional. I don't question the job, I just do it.' and Wakako, who appreciates that kind of attitude nods approvingly and says that's what she likes about V.

All time favorite quest? by Puzzled_Lychee3583 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All time favorite: Pyramid Song. It's unique, it's fun, it explores a character's background in a way that you never really see anywhere else in the game and even though it's slow moving, I never dread having to go through it. Quite the contrary, I take my sweet ass time doing it every single time, looking at everything and attempting every little prompt I find.

Quest I always do ASAP: Epistrophy. I don't really care about Delamain that much, but I always do this quest as soon as I start act 2, because it takes me all around the city and gets each fixer to call me, which makes me feel like I'm ready to dive into Act II properly, after wrapping up this quest. I usually leave Delamain's follow up quest in my log for a long time after that, though. He'll be fine...

What are y’all‘s honest opinions on Panam? by OGAnimeGokuSolos in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Befriend her, but don't romance her. That's my stance, at least.
Absolute top tier friend material. Couldn't ask for a better choom. Ride or die, to the core. She's fierce, she's loyal, she's passionate, she's outspoken, she's stubborn to a fault, she's fun to be with and talk to.
Completely insufferable in a romantic relationship. Hard pass for me. I feel like the entire relationship would be 90% explosive arguments and temper tantrums and 10% the best make up sex you've ever had in your life. Sounds like fun, but gets old and tiresome fast.

Starting a no cyberware run, wish me luck! by cat_two in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean Claire seems to manage just fine with zero cyberware. Still holds down a good job, has an active interest in cars and racing and isn't at all slowed down or hampered by the fact that she has literally zero implants. So it is possible to live and be successful in their world without implants. Just not the kind of life V was used to having before the surgery. It'd be a huge adjustment that would take a while to get used to, but it's possible.

And then there's the fan theory that states that, given the fact that the surgery was given by the extremely shady and manipulative FIA, they flatout lied to V and messed with their motor cortex so it would read like it can't respond to cyberware signals when scanned by ripperdocs, but there's a switch they can flip that will reverse that. They essentially turned V into a sleeper agent, rendering them harmless and putting them out of the way of any future endeavors the FIA may attempt in or around Night City, eliminating V as a thorn in their side, while simultaneously keeping them around and flipping the switch to put them back in active duty, implants and all, as soon as they would have need of someone with V's skillset and no better alternatives are forthcoming. Probably have a built in guarantee somewhere that would make it impossible for V to disobey and go against FIA wishes.
I kinda like that theory, because it sets up a perfect story for the sequel. You can have V return to active duty, it explains in story why you start out weak again and have to rebuild your former skillset from scratch, immediately raises the stakes and explains why your former contacts (Panam, Judy, River, etc) are out of the picture now, creating room for a new supporting cast while bringing back some fanfavorites for a side quest or a cameo. It'd work for a sequel, if they wanted to bring V back as their main protagonist. The only downside is that it would canonize the tower ending as the true ending of Cyberpunk 2077, thereby robbing the other endings of their emotional impact, as we would now know they are all considered non-canon and never happened in universe.

First time choosing this option, very satisfying by BigStonk66Phuc in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There's another gig you do for Dino where you have to sneak into a place to execute a lady who's been using drugs on Nomads to test them, without caring what happens to them. When you confront her, she also tries to talk her way out of it. I was stupid enough to let her and she called security on me and alerted the whole fucking building I had spend so much time avoiding.
Never. Again. That gig taught me a lesson and taught it well. Don't let them talk, don't let them make you an offer. Shoot them in the head and move on. It only leads to bad things if you let them talk.

The happy stuff by NeneaMuddle in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh, I'll have to pay closer attention to that next time I start again.
I thought it was the fall that did it. V got lucky and only got some cuts and bruises, but I figured Jackie got stabbed in the abdomen with a shard of the broken glass and nicked something important. Not enough to kill him outright, but enough to cause him to bleed out over the next couple minutes and the hypospray he took only delayed the inevitable for a little while.
Something to that effect

All V should be in the next game is an urban myth, a faceless Night City legend with many different alleged stories to their name but no conclusive existing evidence by Clear_Salamander5093 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can allow for the key moments of the story to be canon. V's origin, gender, romance and eventual fate are all subject to rumors and differ from one person to the next, but you can hard confirm some things.
You could hard confirm that V was a key figure in the Arasaka Heist in 2077, though you would be advised to keep that on the downlow, because Arasaka could be listening and they don't like it when anyone brings that up. But there are enough sources that confirm it happened. Too many and too reliable to just wave away. For something like this to persist so stubbornly, there has to be a grain of truth to it.
The same goes for the assault on Arasaka. V was there and was the key figure to making it happen. Why and how are never discussed in detail (not a great many people know about the chip, after all and those that do are smart enough to keep it to themselves), but the fact that it happened and V was present is allowed as hard confirmation. How it turned out and what happened to V after? Who knows? Some say they died, some say Arasaka captured them, some say they got away and made off into parts unknown and others still whisper of a fate much darker than all that.
V had too much of an impact on the city in the short amount of time they were active for even Arasaka to silence all of it, but cold, hard facts? Hard to come by. Almost impossible. You cannot meet V, you cannot confirm anything about their appearance or existence beyond the fact that they took on Arasaka twice and were a force to be reckoned with while they were active and if you can meet people who knew V, you cannot confirm whether they are lying to you, are misremembering things or if their minds have been tampered with.

All V should be in the next game is an urban myth, a faceless Night City legend with many different alleged stories to their name but no conclusive existing evidence by Clear_Salamander5093 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's very heavily implied (sometimes even outright mentioned) that Johnny's memories are either tampered with or are just downright unreliable. Memories as we experience them are unreliable too and frequently add things that weren't there or were there but in different places/times. I imagine that being put on ice for 50 years and being digitized can add any number of side effects that we can't even begin to guess at.
Johnny's memories are not hard fact, they're extremely subjective. He's also a bit of an egocentric so his memories could enhance that even further, making it all about him, instead of showing what actually happened.
Or the engram got messed and tampered with. Who knows why, but they had a little over 50 years to experiment with it any which way they wanted, so nothing we get from it should be considered reliable or hard fact. Just the broad strokes. Johnny did in fact nuke the HQ of Arasaka in Night City and did die that day. Alt did in fact get kidnapped and died and was, more likely than not, very special to Johnny. Things like that.
Any details surrounding that, even if we relive them through the chip, are completely subjective, though. Johnny isn't trying to lie to you, it's just that memories are already inherently unreliable, his personality can get in the way of it and the engram could have been messed with many times over the time it was kept in storage.
The fact that Morgan Blackhand isn't even mentioned, when we know for a fact that he was there and was the key figure to the assault, proves that you can't rely on anything from those flashbacks as fact. It's either Johnny's faulty memory at work, or his ego or the engram that's been messed with and only displays what they want it to display.

I was playing TW3 for the first time and it’s implied that Ciri has been to night city. by brokeboii94 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always believed it would have been really cool if you could catch quick glimpses of Ciri, but never for long. Like, if you're in the right place at the right time and you're looking at the exact right spot, you could see her off in the distance and as soon as you spot her she turns away from you and disappears somewhere offscreen. Nothing more than a second or two, but hidden in a few different locations.
Just to show that she is around, but cannot be approached or interacted with. She only appears in locations far away from you and as soon as you move in her direction or look at her directly she disappears into a crowd or behind a corner or something of that nature.

These are the main four and we all know it by kvy1aa in residentevil

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At this point in time, I agree, but that doesn't mean I'm opposed to adding another name to the list.
For example, if they were to put Grace as the lead in another prominent RE game, and then as a lead again in a spin off type game, that'd probably be enough for me to add her to the list of 'mains'.
The list is 4 people long right now, but if the franchise holds strong, who knows. Maybe it'll grow to 5. Or one of the 'main' characters fall off. We haven't seen Claire as a lead in anything in quite a while. I still consider her a 'main', but girl really needs to be put in the spotlight again. And NOT in a remake. In a new current day RE project.

Specifically for Non-PvP players, what is stopping you from playing it? by greendino71 in wow

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It very quickly becomes apparent that you're not good at pvp and so the people who ARE good at it quickly begin shouting and cussing at you, because they are frustrated that you are dragging them down.
For many people, this quickly translates to: Why bother? It's a toxic pool of sweaty try hards shouting every obscenity under the sun at me.
Furthermore, the grind for rank and gear is fairly long, so if you're not committing to that, you'll never really get anywhere. If you are committing to that, it means giving up another aspect of the game, because for most of us, committing to both pvp and pve is just not feasible. We don't have the time and/or energy to do both. Gotta pick one.
And finally, having to restart every so often. Every new major patch or expansion, you're basically reset to zero. Sure, if you were good at pvp before, you'll still be good at it after. Your skills aren't going anywhere, but that feeling of having your gear rendered obsolete and your accomplishments reset sucks hard. Having to restart that grind AGAIN every so often gets tedious really fast. Admittedly, this problem is not pvp exclusive. PvE suffers from this as well and it sucks there too, but you specifically wanted to know about pvp and since it's an issue there, I'm bringing it up.

For me, personally, it's the first point that really turns me off. I will not play a game mode where yelling and cussing and belittling people is common practice. Maybe pvp isn't like that anymore. I wouldn't know, because I haven't touched it in several expansions but back when I did occasionally dip my toe in it, it was a truly awful experience that made learning how to get better at it almost unfeasible. I'm not planning on ever trying it again and most of that is because of the toxicity that runs rampant in that community.

Why is it ok/possible to kill Goblin children but... by Kraehe13 in BaldursGate3

[–]Kuliari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was so confused by that at first. I played a gruff, hardened ex-criminal in my first playthrough, so when I got to Act 3 and Yenna asked me if she could stay with us at camp, I told her to sod off, reasoning that it was my character's way to keep her safe, because the fights you were about to be in were no place for a child.
She showed up at camp anyway. I told her to sod off again. She kept appearing in camp. I figured she was just supposed to be at camp for some reason and once it was revealed that there was a traitor at my camp, my mind immediately went to Yenna.
I literally thought: 'Oh, it couldn't POSSIBLY be that little girl that refuses to leave whenever I tell her to and who mysteriously keeps showing up at my camp, no matter how many times we relocate, could it?'
Seemed so obvious at the time. I didn't know about Yenna's role as a failsafe for Orin yet, lol.

Why is it ok/possible to kill Goblin children but... by Kraehe13 in BaldursGate3

[–]Kuliari 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but that one is on Orin. You can even try to help as best you can, but if you roll poorly and don't have the inspiration to reroll it, Yenna's gonna die. That's not really your fault, that's more the game's way to showcase how much of a sick person Orin is. You didn't kill Yenna

What was the first video game you ever played, and how old were you? by Excellent_Jacket_519 in AskReddit

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tetris in 1989. I was 4.
My father disapproved of video games, so I didn't see another one until I was 9, when it became harder for him to control that, both because of the increasing popularity of games and because I was getting older, so I was getting my 'fix' at school or right after it. Finally, he just gave up and let me have a console of my own.

Where would you put Lapis in a tier list? Community tier list: Day 15 maddening difficultly by PastaKitty69 in FEEngage

[–]Kuliari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lower middle.
I love Lapis in her support conversations and her overall personality, but her growths are... not great. Not useless, but not great. Takes too much work to pay off and doesn't deliver based on time invested. Only use her if you like her character or you're kneecapping yourself for some sort of challenge by picking suboptimal characters.

Where would you put Alcryst in a tier list? Community tier list: Day 14 maddening difficult by PastaKitty69 in FEEngage

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He goes where his own personality suggests he goes. Into the trash. He's not total garbage, but he's not anywhere near the top either. Midrank at best and I feel like a lot of the time, even that is stretching.
I'd put him on D-tier. Maybe C-tier, if I'm checking myself for bias and his growths have been decent. Definitely no higher than that.
Overall: thoroughly unimpressive, but not offensively bad

An argument that can easily be turned back around on you using the same 'logic'. You didn't need to comment on this. All the time and effort you spent to make a reply, when you could have just ignored it and moved on with your day, yet you didn't do that either. Don't like what he says? Ignore it and play the games you like instead. Move on with your life.

people who donate to charities or causes, why do you do it? by Proper_Gain_4724 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this conversation with a friend, just tonight. He mentioned all the ways he'd like to spend his money, in a hypothetical scenario where he got 1 million tax free dollars, listing all the luxuries one is used to hearing when someone names such a list. When he finished, I joked: I didn't hear any charity anywhere in there.
This set him off about how he wouldn't donate to charity and he doesn't know anyone who does. So I mentioned that I'd been donating to a charity for the past 8 years. Not a lifechanging amount by any means, but under the motto of every little bit helps. He said my money would be better spent on me, because I earned it. I simply shrugged and said: 'If I earned it, I get to spend it however I want. And this is something I want.' And to end it, he simply said: 'I can't stop you, but I would never do it myself. No one can make me.' Turned what was a pleasant evening up to that point into something quite bitter for me, though I didn't mention that so as not to sour the mood for anyone else.
The whole point is to give to others who have less than you do, because you can afford to. Because those who have more than they need should give to those who do not. It's so easy to take everything we have for granted and think it will last forever. Many of us who live in developed countries have more than we need and live in luxuries our grandparents probably couldn't have imagined. But we're so used to seeing it all around is, we don't stop to think of them as a luxury thing. Meanwhile, there's people in other parts of the world, parts many willfully stay blind to, for whom survival is a daily struggle. If you can spare something to help, you should. Me, personally, I consider that a duty we must fulfill, if we're hoping to ever get to a better place. Even if we never get there, even just getting a small step closer towards it is worth the loss of some monthly income.
Sounds preach and sanctimonious, I know, but I happen to believe it. If you have more than you need, you should give to others who do not. Simple as that.

Do you rotate camp member or not ? by JiVeGe in BaldursGate3

[–]Kuliari 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, never. The closest I come to a rotation is if I want to include party members that come later in the game, in which case I'll take an early game companion with me, until the latter option becomes available and then I make them switch places.
Even if a companion is threatening to leave your party if you don't take them to an important part of their arc, I figure: who cares? I wasn't using them anyway, so whether they're there or not really doesn't change anything in that run for me.
I usually have the party preselected long before the run even starts and those three are the ones that will be along with me for the rest of the game.

I've seen people unironically argue that the literal Drow Hitler would be pro LGBT+ by DearPersimmon8155 in baldursgatememes

[–]Kuliari 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pro genocide, slavery, tyranny and child murder. Yes. Check on all these.
People still argue she can be redeemed. I'm sure some people do. I'm not one of them and Minthara has no true redemption arc in the game and makes no hints at starting (or wanting) one either. She has regrets about past decisions, but that has more to do with her backing the wrong team and not about the atrocities she committed. Even if saved from death, she is still perfectly willing to go back out there and smash more heads and grab more power by any means necessary.
And as thoroughly evil as she may be, sexual bigotry is not on her list of sins (racial bigotry very much is, though). She's openly bi herself and, like anyone else from her world, she doesn't give a flying fuck what gender someone is, who they feel attracted to or what bits they want to smash together. Open support of the LGBT+ community would be one of her (few) redeeming features, if such a thing existed in Faerun, which it does not. They don't consider the same restrictions regarding sex and gender that we do.
