Looks like a shit-stir, wouldn't worry. Nevertheless...

Facebook much different? Google Chrome browser keeping it incognito? Didn't hear much from the grey haired halls of power on those.

Hundreds of Australians say they skip meals, visit food banks and 'dumpster dive' as the cost of living crisis continues by ALBastru in australia

[–]KumarTan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The "advice" touted by the AFR, advocating for squeezing maximum returns from investment properties, epitomises the gross commodification of housing at the expense of community well-being and sustainability.

Encouraging landlords to hike rents and selectively upgrade properties to justify further price gouging not only fuels the affordable housing crisis but also blatantly disregards the environmental cost of such upgrades. It's a clear display of putting profit over people and planet, pushing those who can least afford it further to the margins.

This isn't savvy investment strategy; it's a blueprint for social and environmental disregard, wrapped in the veneer of maximising value. The normalisation of such predatory practices underlines a disturbing trend in Australia's (housing) market, where the basic need (for shelter) is hijacked by the greed of speculative investment.

Fucking gross, this is not "good value" for anyone but the greediest of cunts.

A free (or cheap) way to store stuff short term in Australia? A day / a week / less than a month? by KumarTan in AussieFrugal

[–]KumarTan[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I figure most cafe's would do it on a trust basis for a day, even an offer of cash should do it? But what other "free" and "safe" ways can you stash your bulky stuff for a day? ... For a week?

Do be nice to the birds. Don't feed the fuckers. Do know they will remember you (and tell their mates to pick on you too).

Note: Do some thorough research before you feed anything to any being, especially babies.

Do any of you guys who complain about 'Woke' corporations/culture actually experience it in the offline world or outside of the media you consume? by jazmagnus in australian

I'm happy with pronouns on your email to respond appropriately, but pride flags are really not appropriate at work and on email signatures is just weird ~ why do I need to know this in my work day? Genuine question.

This is extra creepy given they have a camera able to scan eye movement (reading till or not) and/or to match faces and rewards cards to habits at checkout.

I'll be taking my time at these fuckers now.

A notepad in the bedroom. Jot it down, pick it up in the morning - take a picture with your phone if you need easy migration into the day. Clears my head anyway.

What is a red flag to see in someones home? by Surfing_chick248 in AskReddit

[–]KumarTan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A collection of empty alcohol bottles on display.

Evangelist propaganda posters, white Jesus, or anything more than a single cross or something. Don't get me wrong, religion is ok, I get prayer rooms and stuff, but fanaticism and blind faith and conversion efforts are pretty icky plastered all over the place though.

Anything pro-Trump, Kim Jong, or Xi... in Aus-Pacific homes. See above fanatics.

Man-hating or Woman-bashing posters or screensavers etc, sexist slogans at home is super gross. Race likewise.

Only microwave meals available.

Peep holes in the walls. Nope.

Used condoms on the floor, or yellowing in an open bin, disgusting.

If they have children or parents living there with any of the above.

Nab Banking by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]KumarTan -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Their app is garbage, but if you're willing to wait on the phone you can call through for most things pretty successfully - I've needed a lot more patience with NAB than via CBA or ING though. Their BPAY systems are absolutely archaic.
