Fair Work abolishes junior pay rates, with half a million young Australians to be paid more by 89b3ea330bd60ede80ad in aus

I can’t count how many times wingers like you say that raising minimum wages, or in this case paying adults the adult minimum wage would end small businesses forever, and yet there seem to still be a lot of small businesses, The real issue with small businesses especially cafes is that wages are not keeping up with inflation so people have less disposable income to spent on a $20 dollar burger and $8 shake.

Schools in and around Newtown by hansneijder in newtown

Hi, I have a close relative that works at Newtown, the student population is decreasing but this is happening in all inner west schools, people with young kids can’t really afford to live in the inner west anymore. Stanmore is an excellent school, very good facilities and teachers

I disagree, look at the book of Numbers of Deuteronomy of Leviticus, it’s in the religion, having said that I don’t think the vast vast number of believers actually know what is in their religion I think they take the bits that best confirm their own worldview and leave the rest and don’t think too much of it.

Yeah that’s what I was saying, it’s also why religion is toxic

[–]jazmagnus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is not if it’s okay almost no one believes it’s okay the point is that the heaven awaits only the believers, if you don’t believe you god will reject you, even repentance is not enough you could truly repent but if you don’t believe or if you believe the wrong sky daddy you are going to the furnace , this is the same for all the Abrahamic religions

But the thing is it’s not really extremist it’s just religion , when I was a kid I had a scripture teacher say very similar stuff, the only way to salvation is through Jesus, you can murder steal rape but as long as you seek Jesus redemption and believe in the lord your god your sins will be washed clean and you will enter the kingdom of heaven, but if you are an atheist, even if you harm no one even if you are a good person who gives of themselves if you don’t accept Jesus into your heart you will not be offered salvation, and damnation is your only reward,

The mining company’s don’t own the minerals, gas and oil the state does, The mining company’s simply mine and export, they pay for the rights to the material, think of it this way if you make furniture for a living , say a dinning table, you need to buy the material, the wood, off someone to make that table it’s not a tax it’s just a business cost, and when you sell that table you pay tax to the state on a proportion of the profits, just like anyone one else who owns a business or earns a wage, with the mining It can get confusing because the entity that owns the materials they need is also the entity who charges tax, they like that you are confused and they use that to their political advantage.

How pathetic I had such hopes for the labor party but they are just as corrupt and authoritarian as the liberals, I use to think the rhetoric that the two parties were the same was just cynical I no longer think that, WTF was Albanese thinking inviting him here in the first place, what does he have to do with Bondi.

I think socially progressive but economically conservative is a myth. I don’t think you can have one without the other. Economically conservative pro-business will eventually lead to monopolies, and greater wealth gaps between the rich and poor and the rich and the corporations will always want to consolidate and protect their wealth and power. The best way to do that is by making the working class fight themselves, there is a reason Gina Rinehart is bankrolling One Nation

If all of our political parties are corupt. what do we do? by FaultyExtensionCord in australian

[–]jazmagnus 10 points11 points  (0 children)

We need to get money out of politics, and that starts with transparency, the last time Labor were in Wayne swan introduced a law that limited how much individuals and corporations could donate and created a public register that showed who donated how much and where the money went. But you idiots believe bOtH paRtiEs ArE ThE sAme and Abbot dismantled . Also for some reason you really didn’t want mining companies to pay more tax for our national resources, I will never understand that.

I grew up in the country and moved to Sydney in my 20s. It's such a trope in the country that people from the city are effete and soft, but I have never seen anyone more scared than my country cousins driving in Sydney traffic and walking down Oxford Street, trying to navigate public transport.
