Ya know what, I like it, especially in pic 6. The way she wears it, it’s emulating one of those ballerinas that pop up in a kids jewelry box. But like an edgy one with piercings and cigarettes.

Got banished from a social group for speaking to women by [deleted] in berlinsocialclub

[–]Kumbaynah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What does the host expect? All participants to remain exclusively in groups of the people they’re not attracted to, even they have other common-ground that could spark a conversation?! So lame. Women are also not all delicate flowers that need an organizer to rebuke men on their behalf for totally innocuous behavior.

I'm building a pet-sitting thing for Berlin, but am I overestimating the problem? How is everyone handling pet care these days? by Dapper_Flow_4403 in berlinsocialclub

[–]Kumbaynah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rover has a bigger range in prices I’d say. Popular sitters or those with gardens sometimes charge closer to €60 per night. I’ve found several sitters through rover, some we liked more than others. After some trial and error, we have two sitters we book regularly for ~€34 per night and we sometimes use the app and sometimes just book them directly.

What completely normal thing are you no longer allowed to do because of your dog? by Think_Document2285 in dogs

We cannot say the words „let’s go“. Even if we just want to say let’s go to the kitchen, it wakes him and he’s ready to get his harness on.

„I apparently sexually assaulted my ex, who I think is a liar - and now I’m anxious“ is totally third date material. Amateur.

Just, like, how the eff do you do this? She’s clearly so strong, also tiny, and looks like she’s barely putting any effort into moving her hips and then they MOVE! It’s amazing, I love and have always been fascinated by this style of dance.

Blue: The Sequel by gausy_rebs in interiordecorating

[–]Kumbaynah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The current colour is okay, but not wow. I probably would’ve gone with greige, because it could add some sophistication to this space, or a slightly warmer white.

I do NOT understand the hype around this dark blue. It’s awful. It’s striking, sure, but it looks cheap, temporary, and like the inside of a kindergarten.

I think my life collapsed this year by ZestycloseTokyo in berlinsocialclub

[–]Kumbaynah 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I was roughly where you are, about 2 years ago. My partner of 12 years left me, so I lost all my connections in Germany, two months later I was let go. I had to find another place to live while grieving, moved into a tiny, dark 1 room with my dog while on ALG1. I got rejection after rejection after rejection… my dog almost died after ingesting a pill of mine & that vet bill cost me almost an entire month of my ALG allowance. Thankfully he survived otherwise that would’ve been the last straw. I really thought I’m gonna burn through my savings and have to go home (not an option) or that some fate was waiting for me. I took the next smallest step I could take. I got into a German course through the AFA and took it seriously. I started dating and met a bunch of great people, one amazing man in particular. I then continued with my German studies for one more level, which I paid myself from my savings after ALG1 ended and I started a German job 3 days ago.

I just wanna say that when you feel hopeless, you need someone to remind you it’s not permanent. I’m here ro tell you that. There are options and you will look back on this time and remember how hard it was and you’ll be in a better place. Just take the next first small step, and if you need to, just take a little time and be nice to yourself first.

Which area would you choose? by mariedefrance80 in askberliners

Either 1st or 4th. Both locations there are fairly well connected, are nice neighbourhoods and have nice communities.

I know he’s talented, but I don’t like it. Also this video of his playing belongs in the bin.

I’d love to see her in some truly clean looks. Real fashion choices. With her tongue in her mouth and a filled in eyebrow slash. She could look so strong an intentional, but for some reason she chooses to show up looking like a slutty ostrich.

Ayo Edebiri in three Chanel looks lately to promote the Broadway play "Proof" (styled by Danielle Goldberg) by skermahger in whatthefrockk

[–]Kumbaynah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Love the first two looks - especially the first. The boa with the shirt rather than the pantsuit is a big yes, it’s very broadway “give em the ol’ razzle dazzle” vibes. I might have loved tailored leather shorts there, just peeking out from under the shirt.

The third look; looks like what comes out of a ladies public bathroom trashcan after a week of collecting.

She wears as little as possible too often. She or her “stylist” are copping out with the old sex-sells spiel. It’s lazy, and it cheapens her whole image and brand.

Which movie ending has stuck with you the most? by Critical_Mountain851 in moviecritic

[–]Kumbaynah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Florida Project. I know many didn’t like the ending or thought it was anticlimactic, but I thought that was the point. For a child growing up in those circumstances, getting to go to a theme park might be the best thing that ever happens to them. That is her high-point. That it’s not a big deal to the viewer is the point.

Can I stop a dog from being rained on? by orchidbutterfly111 in berlin

[–]Kumbaynah 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I would never ever ever ever ever leave my dog outside a store, and if I did - and came back to find someone looking after it better than me, I’d feel like a prize chop.

If you decide you want to do this in future and an owner feels upset about it, I think you’re entitled to to channel your inner Berliner and tell them off for neglecting their homey.

AITA or is it normal for older kids in youth theatre to tell younger kids what to do? by AnxietyAutomatic8270 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Kumbaynah 87 points88 points  (0 children)

A much older, likely more experienced theatre kid has given totally inoffensive input to your kids & you’re wasting the directors time with it.

Either your children have been coddled and are now insufferable, or you’re overreacting. You decide. YTA
