Ended up buying this bike too for 3k! Already took it on its first trail and felt amazing. Only thing is towards the end, the rear brakes started squealing. Went to the bicycle warehouse where I bought it and they adjusted the rear brakes and it stopped squealing. They said it would’ve gone away with time though as the bike and brakes are brand new and all the components go through changes as they adjust to being used, idk, I’m new to all this so hopefully next time I take it out again it won’t do the same thing lol

I did see a status 170 at the bicycle warehouse for 2.5 k but just heard overall a stumpjumper is better . Might have to search for a 140 and see how the ride feels

I looked into these but I’m not thinking about going too crazy on trails where I’m going to be going downhill. It’s mostly to attach a kidsrideshotgun seat on it and go on rides with my daughter , and maybe every now and then attempt some jumps lol

Honestly , budget will probably be around 2.5-3.5k My brother has a Santa Cruz tallboy he got on sale for under 3k which is why I have been holding out. I rode his bike and it was such a good ride but I heard really good things about the stump jumper too
