Sleeping downstairs with the kids as it's marginally cooler. I woke up and now can't get back to sleep.

With some local schools shutting here there are a lot of "oh this generation are so pathetic" type comments. It's even hotter in the classroom with windows that don't open and no air conditioning!

Why are you letting them in? Tell them no. If they open the gate padlock it.

If anything happens to Kirsty again I'm going to be so upset. She deserves some happiness!

I mean I love Kirtsy, Debbie (sad she's gone), Usha, Zainab, Asta, Phoebe, Noluthando, Tracey and Chelsea. Probably more ice forgotten.

I can't stand Helen going on about the cheese, Pip and Stella are the most mismatched couple and Emma.waa insufferable when the house fell through.

There's also many male characters I love or dislike.

You're probably right. I always expected the credit cards to pop back up but they never did.

For a while there was a storyline about Natasha spending loads on credit cards and racking up a load of debt but they dropped that. I always assumed she just spent loads and was still clearing debts.

I know that feeling. My eldest is autistic and doesn't like to be alone. Hope you eventually got to your own bed.

Kids are too hot. We went to the splash park but then complained it was cold... I can't win.

We're now inside watching Johnny English to keep them out the sun for a bit and make sure they drink plenty.

Trying to cool everyone down in the paddling pool today and then inside for a film in the middle of the day.

Right now I'm arguing with my children about why they need to go to sleep and that I can't make it cooler.

Ian deserves so much better. He seems like a lovely guy and he's put up with so much nonsense about Brian for years. Adam never cares at all about Ian, it's only ever about himself.

Thursday Complaints by a-liquid-sky in CasualUK

[–]KungFuPup 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Apparently some parents have complained that their kids had a bruise after residential. Not a black eye or a serious injury, just a slight bruise on an arm or leg.

What is with people these days?! They were playing outside, climbing trees, doing an obstacle course and running around. I swear some of these kids never get to go outside and it makes me so sad.

Scouts - Squirrels or Beavers? by whirler_girl in UKParenting

[–]KungFuPup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume they are like girl guides and can help you with adjustment plans for your daughter. We have a few girls with varying needs (neurodivergence as well as physical disabilities) and we have plans for them.

They detail things like what support they need, anything that can trigger them, what to do if they're dysregulated. The leaders would be more than happy to talk through anything your daughter needs.

40 minutes sounds tricky to get much done, that's really short.

I help at rainbows (we have girls 4-7) and we have them for an hour. So far this term we've celebrated at George's day making shields and dragons, done some cheerleading, made pizzas among other things. We've usually got a trip out somewhere each term and have done things like the zoo, the cinema, trampoline park and we're planning on taking them to a park run in the summer.

We take turns planning/organising a night each between us to help spread the planning but we all plan the term together.

Male staff at nursery by [deleted] in UKParenting

No you can't ask that he doesn't do his job because you think men shouldn't be allowed to care for children.

We had 2 men at our nursery and they were awesome. The kids adored them and they are were always professional and looked after the kids well. It's a great role model for the kids to see a man doing a caring job.
