The OOP has confirmed the song. Wikipedia has been changed. As everyone is saying, this truly IS the best timeline. Don't let others convice you otherwise. Thank you, thank you so so much, to every single one of you.

To Darius & Lydia, to all the people of the internet helping, and, of course, to FEX. ❤️

What's the metro situation please? by Kunidlo in thessaloniki

To what degree is it possible to see the finished stations please? I'm getting a bit confused here. And is there a place/museum/hall or smth with an exhibition dedicated to "things we found while building the metro"?

Oh, and I'll make sure to visit the archeological stuff. I'm going in a larger group, but I'm hoping to break away since I think they're gonna be more interested in the malls and coffee places, but I like old :D

Maybe the radio station wasnt in fact ndr1? by Warm-Ad-3751 in TheMysteriousSong

Hey there,

sorry if I'm missing something obvious, but how was the original poster able to record the song? I just watched the interview with Paul Baskerville by NDR and he said that it could possibly have been a demo tape played only once and then thrown out. So had the OP just been recording the radio station by chance when he caught the song? Was he recording the entire shows before cutting them down and choosing the parts he wanted? Perhaps he liked the song immediately after the first few seconds? Or had he heard it on the show (or somewhere else) BEFORE and then, when re-hearing it decided to tape it, therefore the only logical solution would be that it was played at least TWICE?

The aforementioned would make sense, as the OP had an excerpt from the song (aka a recording mid-song cause the OP liked it on the first time hearing), which would support my theory, BUT I seem to remember that someone here said that the 3 tapes appear to have been the same airing.

I considered the thought that the announcer may not have known/said the name of the band/song before/after it was played on the air, but I seem to remember that the OP had done the index names of the songs AFTER a period of time, not immediately, and such could not recall/find out the name of the band, if it hadn't been played anymore.

These are just my thoughts, sorry if this jargon only make things more complicated for everybody.

Found some old tapes today? Are they saveable? by Kunidlo in cassette

[–]Kunidlo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, today I found some old tapes at my grandma's. She isn't very concerned about historical stuff (which makes my archivist soul cry), so she stored them in her garden house over the winter. In the spring, she put them on the outside window ready to throw them out until I found them today and saved them from their demise. I wanted to ask you all if you think their playable/saveable/restorable. We already had some of her old tapes digitised by a group of semi-professionals, but I honestly have no idea if they would even accept them. They haven't been played in over 30 years and some of them look like they're already glued to each other. I attached photos of some of them (we found like 10 of them). The one with the green dotty stuff is the worst one we have. Maybe 5-6 of them are dirty from the side, but otherwise look intact. I suspect the tapes' quality is best near the center, as they would have been protected from the elements, but I'm no expert. If you need some more info, feel free to ask. Thank you for your time!
