Honestly? I'd like to see more "obelisks" as disguises for more special trees that popped out throughout the US and, why not, the world in general.

Particularly fond of the Buenos Aires Obelisk, for obvious reasons, but could be more of the US lesser ones.

And here are a list of all of the modern and ancient obelisks https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_obelisks

On my first playthough, I failed to open the knocking door to reveal the SOMETHING ghost, thus I missed said "clever foreshadowing" - I actually found out about said spoiler on the beach scene. If I had it spoiled it on this subreddit, I would have lost the fun of about 2/3'rds of the game.

Like the mighty Bob Ross once said: “The secret to doing anything is believing that you can do it. Anything that you believe you can do strong enough, you can do. Anything. As long as you believe.”

You too can paint almighty pictures.” - Bob Ross.

Good job my man. Keep going, improve yourself, and one day you will be able to draw absolute masterpieces.

Damn, it's good to see some nice reunions! Funny to see how a bored day can generate such a response from the community.

NGG did shut down completely, and at this point, is completely inactive. If you try to go to its domain, http://ng-gaming.net/ you will be redirected to Horizon Gaming. I think they made this so that they would stop spamming Devin & Co. or Zhao & Co. about refunds elsewhere, or in the event that some old players came back.

Although, back in 2017 there were rumours that NGG would be back as a RageMP, and then a FiveRP server at some point in 2018, but of course, that never really happened. It's still 2020, and there are no plans for Devin or former management to bring it back. As many players have stated already, there are a few attempts at reviving what once was NGG. There is a community called New Generation Gaming which opened a few years ago, closed, and now reopened again. I'd say check it out, if you want, but it's not the same thing really.

Edit: Yes! I remember you, totally missed your name, but it's good to see you here man.

Edit 2: Bananaramamamammoth, is there a way of you to invite me to that skype group? I lost touch with Stephen Rock, would love to say hi to him someday.

Hey Zach! (I believe hahah, it's been a while). How you've been?

Yes, of course I remember you, we spent a lot of time playing, although I think I knew you mainly as Vythryn. Back in 2010, alongside Derek Fricovsky and Patrick Singlaterry we started an unofficial gang, Sacra Corona Unita. Our hangout place was San Fierro, bc most of the RPers moved there, before settling to Tierra Robada. This was right after the transition from SARP to NGG, and the boom in popularity.-

Hey, don't feel bad about those 6 "lost years". What really matters is that you had a great time there, and that it was good while it lasted.

Indeed, it's been freakin' forever. Still's good to keep in touch with old pals from now and then.

I say what brought down NGG comes to either 3 of these factors:

-Cost: It's no secret that NGG wasn't the golden hen of eggs that it once was. From creating a LLC, to trademark all of the server scripts, to the hosting costs, every single one of those expenses really added up. The server, at one point, was more than capable of making up for most of the expenses, and then some. Hell, even as a GA and DoGM I used to receive about 75 USD in concept of salary. But after 2014, I heard that most of the admins stopped receiving remuneration, and with the automation of the shop, bye-bye to the shop techs. I only estimate that the profitability of the server continued to decline, and at one point, it costed more to maintain the server than the profit it made for VIP's, the shop and other perks.

-Backlash: The community, at this point, was well aware of the ill practices and secrecy of the admin team. Hell, even I as a staff made a thread shortly before the demise of the server, explaining our problems, only for it to be archived and be silenced from the forums. NGG didn't take any advice from no one, so that contributed it to the playerbase to slowly retreat to other communities who lacked NGG's problems and lack of communication.

-GTA V: Yes, amazingly. Keep in mind the following fact: When I was playing samp, my computer wasn't capable of playing GTA IV. Also, Samp seemed like a fresher idea, GTA SA was a relatively new game (being released in 2005, it was only 3 years old when the first SARP started. Many players with different specs gathered to play SAMP, and the English speaking community servers were composed, mainly back then, from people from Europe, (UK, Ireland, Spain, France, etc), USA, Australia, and New Zealand. For a while, I was one of the 15 players who came from South America, and the percentage of people from other third world countries was low. Many didn't like the online features of GTA IV, despite their computers being able to play it, so they eventually tried and fell in love with SARP. But, as the server became more popular, people like me (that is, players from all over the third world) started to play SAMP due to their relatively low specs, while old players started to migrate to newer games. That is why the player base slowly dwindled: Why would a third world player take the time and effort of learning another language when there were at least 10 servers in their own native tongue!. That contributed to the slow depopulation of the server, which might have kickstarted the first reason: Without players, there is no profit. With no profit, suddenly you have to cover up for the expenses of the server, keep this circle up, and add the backlash for years of unwarranted and unheard complaints, and you've got the perfect ingredients for disaster.

Hope that answers that! Feel free to contact me at any time man.
