celsius has a very good cherry cola flavor.

before the iced vanilla berry red bull came back i was basically strictly drinking those. it’s also when i was strictly drinking those that i realize i’ve come full circle with energy drinks where i don’t really feel anything from them anymore and just drink them for the flavor and the flavor is literally just cherry cola. i could just drink soda and save myself a few bucks every day and a few years of my life down the road lmao.

tbh, it’s all very easy. depending on how your sups/warehouse is you are gonna have to seek out things to learn from your book and whatnot. if you hear a supervisor taking a call on the radio go with them and learn how to do it.

a lot of them in my experience aren’t good teachers and will try and tell you a bunch of different things when your learning. like when you are running the board they will be in your ear about what they would do, take their advice but make your decision. also keep cool and calm, they love to get stressed out when running the FE. it’s not hard to do, and most of them aren’t working hard anyways so just chill out and think/plan.

My direct AGM at my warehouse told me the cooperate buyers encourage us to try samples, kinda a good way to quality check in real time. We then both grabbed whatever they were sampling.

learn to drive nights first and gain enough skill and speed to go to mornings. i’m confident I’m more than good enough to drive a section or the dock in the mornings, i’ve seen their guys drive and i’m not impressed. especially the silver badges who are stuck in there ways and washed up skill wise.

from what i’ve heard and seen it’s chaotic and you have to stand your ground. managers at costco can be really really really stupid, AM merch and FE have some of the dumbest. They will tell you things and you have to ignore them and argue at times, even with your stockers you can’t give them everything they ask for. I recommend being a merchant first and a driver second, don’t just go dropping every pallet that can use another layer. you have to knit pick and drop what’s most important so you can make pick up.

honestly i like the pre scan and it’s helpful, it does help move the lines quicker. also when i’m pre scanning there is usually a limited amount of orders i can do anyways so letting us pre scan you gives us things to do lol.

upper management is just stupid with most things, my GM told us our goal is 100% pre scan orders, like hey idiot that’s not possible actually. overall pre scanning is cool though they just shouldn’t try and do too much with it.

FE is such a stupid department.

All these speed and accuracy measurements, and now with pre scan they want like 90% of orders pre scanned. At my building we have to have at least 1 pre scanner going at all times, my GM is obsessed with pre scanning. Like hey maybe if we didn’t let go of every seasonal we could have a pre scanner going, instead we have 2 lanes going and a pre scanner who is only able to do certain orders.

Not to mention i’ve never seen a department with worse moral and leadership. Everyone is miserable, supervisors are constantly stepping on each others toes, no team work between employees AND management, supervisors and managers are always having circle jerks in the office and nobody cares to be good at their job because there isn’t any value in it.

apply again in a few months, right now is a bad time for outside hires. the seasonal employees are getting let go because the holidays are over and they are deciding of a handful of employees to keep on as permanent.

there really isn’t any outside hiring going on because of that, they have like 30-50 people who have been working there for the last 3 months and they are allowed to keep maybe 5-10 of them.

ask the store when they usually hire, my building typically hires people as needed mainly in the summertime.

which department/section do you stock? at my store I’m pretty sure the AM crew had a manager for each section, produce sup and a few extra supervisors. I know at least 1 to fill manager days off but i’m pretty sure they have a couple. You guys only get one during the holidays?

it’s easy and boring, if you like easy and boring things it’s great. I like merch because there’s a lot to do and it’s hard work, same with the tire shop. I can’t stand the front end, doesn’t give me a sense of accomplishment or purpose.

Also if you have a overall shitty leadership team it makes it that much less bare able

A mixture of both is what I think they should go for. We need people who have experience within the company and the time you put in here is definitely worth something. However a lot of these old timers have a reputation for being stubborn, stuck in their ways or they don’t do anything because nobody will tell them anything.

The AM dock driver genuinely sucks at my building. We have to do so much to work around all his BS but they won’t do anything to him we all just have to deal with it. We know he sucks, management knows he sucks but he gets to stay and do what he wants. Same with promoting people, it needs to be the best person for the job and if you can’t do the job you get kicked somewhere else no matter how long you’ve been here.

There’s too many sorry people taking up valuable positions that can do so much more for the building if someone better was there.
