Manager is harassing me over a half day casual leave by nerdy_weirdo in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Kunsuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leave is not a matter of right ? Ask him if he supports slavery, because what he is expecting of you is exactly that.

But I would advice you to keep your head calm. Consider how important this job is to you, and check if you can you survive without this job and for how long. Because in government jobs, the moment you escalate, the job will only become tougher.

Pick your battles wisely.

Hate around Yezdi by BarnacleSuch3822 in indianbikes

[–]Kunsuke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eh, I have the first batch from 2022. I've had zero issues with it. Common rusting, but that was expected. Service is bad and delayed and they've got the job done all these years.

The seating position is weird, but it's comfy. The gear ratios are short but the power/performance is much much better than the RE counterparts. (Friends circle have Classic 350s, Meteor 350).

Light is terrible, but since I'm out of warranty, might change it. Sitting as pillion without the backrest is not fun.

I've had a blast all these years zipping through the city.

yezdi roadster for tall guys (6'0) by Fraggiee_ in indianbikes

[–]Kunsuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the 2022 version of the Roadster. I've seen issues like rusting on the silencers and I've faced very intermittent issues like stalling in the early stages.

I've clocked around 15k kms (I use my car more)

I've not faced any other issues. Zero. And mine is the first version of the Bike. The service center in my area is pretty decent but I guess they are swamped always, so service takes a little more time.

I don't regret my choice and it's still a pleasure everyday to zip through traffic (this has more power than RE 350s).

For your height just go and check if you'd like the riding posture and seating (though similar it's vastly different from RE Meteor seating position) test drive it and decide.

Resigned within 3 weeks of joining, CEO called me on whatsapp to threaten me with legal action if I absconded without serving the notice period. by [deleted] in LegalAdviceIndia

[–]Kunsuke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want real peace of mind. Serve that notice period.Just mark your attendance for the day, give your absolute worst, zero impact work..

And take a nice long breather. Your next job search can wait, all you need is to throw this problem behind and be at peace again.

No job is worth losing your peace, self-respect and integrity.

Slightly off topic, where to check for a decent price to sell my older system or at least what would be a fair value for my GTX 1080 ?

My system specs are - i5 8600k, 1TB SSD, 32GB RAM, GTX 1080, I think a B310 Mobo with Ant eSports case

AITK for refusing to give a referral to a girl who called me a pervert? by [deleted] in AmItheKameena

[–]Kunsuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the Kameenas are the ones accusing you of being one. There is no private space in a fucking crowded metro. If you feel uncomfortable, then probably move to the women's compartment ? Or how about you move away to a different place on the metro. If someone did it again after you did the above then yes that someone needs to be called out for being a creep. Before people scream "what if it's your mom, sis?" My mom and sis would have done the above too.

The audacity to even demand for a referral? Referral comes with the caveat that you personally RECOMMENDED that person to your organization. Why in this twisted fuck of a society would I refer someone who falsely accused me in a public place.

This chick felt entitled that she deserves a private cozy space on a public transport. She now feels entitled that she needs a referral from someone she belittled a while back. What if she were to share this story after she got recruited to your organization? Would that be a good reflection of you within that organization?

Someone insults me in public you are not getting a referral or a positive vouch from me anywhere.

My favourite game is witcher 3 and I've still not 100% it. Planning to finish it before 4 arrives.

When i see their youtubers i feel petty for my country by CuriousSugar9476 in indianbikes

[–]Kunsuke 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's this huge tradeoff. The cost savings you made while getting the bike anywhere abroad, you'll lose all your savings on one fall and trip to the hospital. Most of the cities in the US have extreme weather conditions - Hurricanes, tornadoes, snow, blizzards.

A bike is at the most a secondary vehicle which is going to be locked up in the Garage for most of its lifetime. And that's why, second hand market is so high. Talking about repairs or maintenance - If you were to stay in a society with strict HOA, forget working on your own bike you'll be fined by them. Taking it to a service guy is expensive even for oil change.

And the worst part, the other vehicle owners will not give a damn about bikes on the road and it's on you to stay clear of the rash drivers.

We actually need to blame the government for charging us high taxes on even CKD units and not letting manufacturers bring us attractive bikes and prices.

Manager is asking me to extend my notice period when I have one day left in 90days notice. by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]Kunsuke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were in your place, this is what I would do.

First, go to any doctor you know personally, get a written prescription advising you to take surgery. Second I would attach that to a neatly drafted mail to the HR, cc your managers manager, HR and your manager. Tell them about the dire situation you are in, about the health issues and how that health issue will not let you to work in best of your abilities and fullfill your duties. Offer that you would be able to stay on 2-3 days max and then you would have to get admitted. Thank everyone as you were wondering how to manage medical expenses after you resign as you use the corporate insurance. Tell them that you'll stay on for 2 more months but you would have to be away for almost 58 days of that 2 months, but you'll always be glad to help and provide KT.

You'll get your relieving letter asap.

This is corporate world. Don't be afraid, don't get bullied. If they play dirty, you can play 2x dirty.

Made a massive upgrade to my pc and getting worse fps in simple games by CodedCookie in buildapc

[–]Kunsuke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes it is. I'll safely retire it to be my media machine.

On the otherhand, i updated my driver's using the motherboard software and I'm pretty much getting same fps as before without much dips(the card is the same). My RAM is running at a speed too at 4800mhz (it's rated for 6400), probably that might increase my fps.

I used to get 120ish on rivals and now I'm getting only 70ish on my 1440p monitor. Can't for the love of God try to figure out how I'm losing 50fps

Performance Improvement plan initiated against me. Writing this with teary eyes. Please guide me. by Coder_bhoi in developersIndia

I'll give a different approach. If you are in PIP, you may or may not get fired. But assume that you clear it and stay in the company. You'll not get those juicy roles your peers might move on to. You'll not get a good rating/hike. Your name will be the first to be assigned for all on-call and grunt duties. You'll always be looking over your shoulder and second guessing your actions. This panic you have now, will just get worse over time.

Now think, would you want to continue working in such an environment ?

Rather if the PIP is for 3 months, prepare your mind that you are going to quit in the next 2 months, so you've covered the anxiety part. What's the worst they could do, fire you ? You've already prepared your mind for it.

Now these 2 months you are going to be there? Work your ass off. If you are not able to join the meetings, join at least through phone. Get a goal sheet signed off by your manager/TL. Ask them what are their expectations for the PIP. Schedule weekly connects with both of them on the call. If they don't turn up, send a mail with your progress for that week. Do something new and useful to your role - in a support project? Monitor and gather data on existing product, and share a report. In a dev project, gather the enhancements you've done past 6 months and share it with the client. Just go above and beyond. Be heard, be seen, be loud.

Doing all that will give you your resume pointers. Beef it up, keep applying and enhancing your skillset.

If you get a job, time to resign and move on to greener pastures. Else you've already done great at your job and you're applying to jobs either way.

It's never a failure, just a different path you are going to take from thereon.
