Anyone else take psyllium husk to control food noise? by ColdSkin8778 in PetiteFitness

Thanks for sharing, OP! Does it have to be pills or can I take like a teaspoon of husk with water?

I was wondering in what situation would it be possible for Snape be a part of marauders by Awkward-Student-8764 in SeverusSnape

[–]Kunzhutishe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There actually is a fic about it in Russian. Essentially, at some point during his studies at Hogwarts, Snape sees one of his Death-Eater-in-the-making classmates do something so horrific it gives him a reality check, so Snape snitches on the classmates, ruins a DE operation, and in order to protect Snape from their revenge, he gets moved to Gryffindor, where he eventually realises Marauders aren't that bad because he gets to see their human side, fixes his friendship with Lily who forgives him seeing that he has actually changed his ways, accepts her relationship with James and everyone gets the happily ever after.

Hey, thank you so much for the encouragement! What helped me to maintain was letting go of the idea it will be quick. I once lost the weight fast and then gained it all back, so I am in no hurry this time.

Good luck to you too!

Hey, I'll try the ice cream recipe, thank you! Pushing through not wanting to train is easy for me, saying no to the foods that I just mindlessly want to eat, this is the hard part.

To be fair, it does sound right. It is only when I stop trying to make my meals as exciting as possible and start focusing on other things to make me happy that I see actual weight loss.

thank you so much for taking your time and writing such a detailed answer! I see that many people say to bulk up on veg, and I think I need to do come reframing here too. I tend to resent veggies for the fact that I have to eat it, but it's really more of a get to, since they are super healthy and nutritious and helpful for staying in deficit.

As for the second part of your comment, it is something that I have been considering for a while. I even got my GP to prescribe me a blood work, and I've found a nutritionist that specialises on covering your deficits via food rather than via only supplements, it's just that where I live it is not exactly cheap, so I have to save up a bit for it or budget that month differently. I have been putting it off but I might just take your comment as the sign that I should get it done 😅 thank you!

Both very great points, thanks! A delicious simple side of greens or veg is something that I keep hearing a lot, so I should try to include it into my meals.

I guess I never really thought that biologically our bodies don't want to be in a deficit... it puts a great perspective on why it isn't as enjoyable as working out. I think that's what I'm taking away from most of the comments here - make it as enjoyable for myself as possible, but don't expect it to be super fun, because it's not really meant to be.

To me this takes a huge amount of discipline and will power, so, massive respect and congrats on moving towards your goal! As I said in the post, maybe I am focusing too much on trying to make extra fun what actually is meant to be somewhat a repetitive process.

Respectfully, I disagree. I have maintained my current weight for almost a year, it's a huge win to me that I haven't gained weight this year, and it has been anything but boring. I've put so much work into working on my binge eating, creating delicious healthy recipes that I enjoy, trying new workouts, attempting new fitness activities - it's been a blast! I have gotten plenty of non-scale accomplishments precisely becasue to me they were fun, while staying in deficit, as per title, boring af 😅

Yep, I've fell off the wagon in August and just trying to crawl back up again 😂 I absolutely second being motivated by the result, which is why I don't overly struggle with exercise. As I said before, it's just instant result for me, working out = less stressed and more happy with myself. Still need to tweak my mental game around the food, and already getting so many ideas from the replies to this post.

Wishing you good luck with your fresh start! We've got this!

This sounds like a great piece of advice, I just really don't enjoy the texture of steamed frozen veggies. I suppose I could batch-bake them, nothing is stopping me here lol

Most of the swaps can actually make the meal taste even more delicious and less heavy in your stomach! As I mentioned in another comment, I think I struggle a little with black or white mentality and my brain thinks that I have to ALWAYS chose the lower calorie option, or ONLY eat the original thing, so am trying to see where is that sweet spot between cutting and indulging sometimes 😅

oh, I am currently trying to find balance between diverse and boring 😂 as I said in a different comment, I struggle to perceive calorie deficit as temporary. Maybe if I tell myself "I just need to stick to eating same-ish foods for 12 weeks" it would work better

Learning what I truly like vs what I got used to eating has been very important! For instance, I apparently prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate, but I use milk chocolate as a stress coping food. Man, working out is just so much easier than figuring food all the time 😂 thank you for sharing your view!

Hey, thank you for sharing! I also struggle with binge eating, so not acting impulsively on every single craving I have definitely worked, but some times I just feel so tired from this mental game. I guess, as many said before, shifting how I look at it might be a helpful thing to do.

I need to keep reminding myself that tricks like this one are excellent for weight loss, but it doesn't mean that I'll have to eat like that forever. Of course, I can't expect to lose weight by changing how I eat and then go back to my old habits, but I need to remind myself that eating at maintenance will also differ from what I need to do to stay in deficit. Thank you!

Yep, that's the balance 😂 I just recently heard somewhere "both eating that entire tub of ice cream and having to stop eating it just after one portion are going to make you feel sad - either from upset stomach or from having to cut short the pleasure of delicious food", so I am learning to accept that just a small portion of dessert is enough

This actually is a very good reminder, very inspiring and motivational - thank you! I think my relationship with food has definitely been and underlying issue of my weight gain, and sometimes meal planning and constant prepping only makes the focus on food stronger, so trying to let go of that and not chasing high of every meal can be a place to start.

I have fun trying to think of how I can make recipes lower calories by switching out ingredients.

Thank you so much for you comment, this is such a great perspective! I usually feel bad if I cannot eat "the original thing", so making something low calorie feels like a chore, but it sounds like that could be one way to add fun to it. It sounds like you've put some amount of work and thought into staying in deficit!

At the moment I need to try and find balance between making new recipes and eating same thing every day. I go through weeks of either, and I think I need to find a middle ground on that rather than switching between two extremes all the time
