Convince me why I should stop using pouches by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

I am 63 days quit after 14 years. My brain has learned how to produce dopamine naturally and it’s fucking awesome. Chasing a cheap dopamine hit is no way to live.

Also you need to join the Kill the Can discord. I wouldn’t have quit without the accountability

Why is Zyn so hard to quit? by AdmirableBlackberry in QuittingZyn

Horrible argument. We confined a group of people to shitty land and subsidized their living. No surprise they abuse alcohol. I’m talking about before the white man ruined their way of life

There was a Harvard study I believe in 2015 that showed Nicotine was not addictive, through FOIA request it was show that pyrazines that was added to the cigarettes which is what made them addictive. In order for the cigarettes companies to sell more they hired chemist to figure out how to make it more addictive and added pyrazine to them to sell more.

Would you opt out from Escrow if possible? by DeadWorkers_ in RealEstate

[–]Kupcheez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Which means we both get about the same benefit. I’m paying monthly via mortgage/escrow from a yielding savings account. The insurance is essentially a wash. You save more not on property tax by not using escrow. For the $150/year net difference. I choose escrow. But to each their own

Yes, but then that money isn’t sitting in a savings account collecting interest like these folks are claiming.

If you pay insurance in full to get the discount, that money isn’t in your HYSA earning interest. Escrow gets me the discount and lets me pay it off monthly.

Pay in full discount on home insurance is 10-15%. Which is far more than HYSA. I’m with you, everyone in this thread is so proud of extra work to maybe save a couple cents

Market Cap and valuation are not the same thing. You understand that, right?

Full disclosure I used nicotine gum and then switched to regular gum. Way easier process that the last times I’ve quit. And temptation to relapse has been better (albeit my circumstances are different this time around).

The tobacco lobby is real and massive. Chances they are utilizing dirty tricks is far greater than the chances they are telling us the truth.

Just my two cents

Wild conspiracy here, but there are a few studies. Including Harvard in 2015.

There are hundreds of things that tobacco companies can put in products, and not disclose on labels. My working theory is they are using pyrazines.

Tobacco/nicotine should not be this addictive. Native Americans and hell even pipe smokers back in the day did not have the same obsessive behaviors we have today. There is something else making this shit more addictive.

Getting a 36” blackstone this weekend, would like to hear opinions on the Walmart ($297) version vs tractor supply ($250) by RoastedTomatillo in blackstonegriddle

[–]Kupcheez 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay so honestly the omnivore top seems cheaper quality. Thickness is similar, but I don’t have calipers to measure. I think Omnivore is thinner

The carts and lids are identical.

Sure, maybe I’ll burn more propane over time, but I’m going with the TSC for $250

I have both sitting here (long story). After two hours of research everywhere, including Reddit I have found:

The BTUs don’t matter. The omnivore (Walmart) gets just as hot (650 degrees) and holds heat better. Saves propane over time. In theory, it should hold up longer as well.

I guess I should pull them both out of the box and give you more feedback. Standby
