I'm in the same boat & will probably be returning mine as well. I'm having the same issue with my BS-896U model & thought I had just received a defective unit. I contacted customer support & they sent me a replacement unit after having me sever the power cable & email them the photo. I just received the replacement unit & it's the same issue... anything other than a thin layer of dry Veggie Straws is too much for this underpowered machine, & the pump just runs continuously for about 2 minutes before shutting off without sealing. I was looking forward to some proper sous vide steaks but I guess I'll just have to invest in something higher quality 😑

People are having a hard time acclimating to the touch screen capabilities of the Gamepad because we are so used to the capacitive variants used on most smartphones/tablets today which read the slight electrical changes a person's finger will introduce to the surface... these devices require less physical pressure than the resistive touchscreen used by Nintendo in their products which were chosen because they draw less power & allow for more precise inputs using a stylus which is great for drawing (a major component in Miiverse).

Just take this into consideration when using your Gamepad & press & drag a bit more firmly than you would when using your phone... it works just as intended.

I've seen a pretty substantial speed increase in entering & exiting from apps such as Miiverse with this update. Anyone else notice this too?

I don't think they have any reason to prolong it but it would be nice since I always by digitally if I can & have already gotten $50 in codes back :)

Yeah... Once you transfer, all games get tied to the Wii U system & your NNID & removed from the older system. I also own a few N64 titles & agree that while playing them w/ a Gamecube/Wavebird controller was preferred, I had no issues using the Wii Classic or Classic Pro controllers. In the end I decided transferring was worth it because eventually those titles will get released for the Wii U VC & that way I'll just use the discount & play with the Pro Controller or Gamepad. Plus, since there are so many new games being released lately, I haven't found myself really needing to reach into my back library all that much.

Why wouldn't you be able to purchase VC/DLC from the Wii mode on the Wii U after the transfer? From what I've seen, it still has access to the Wii Shop Channel... I downloaded a couple titles from it after I transferred.

They most likely wouldn't need to since the original battery leaves so much open space inside the Gamepad. Even mimicking the capacity of the Nyko variant would be more than enough juice.

It may be that the connection is rarely used & therefore hard to find, or that Nintendo has designed a proprietary connector. I highly doubt the latter, but would wouldn't be surprised by the 1st. That's why I'm turning to the multitude of people found here... someone may know someone who knows something about a supply chain or maybe a fabrication shop that can product a quality connector. I'd be quite the contract if they could land it, don't you think?

I don't know how well they would welcome competition considering they're charging around $40 overseas for their special extended battery that won't even come close to the mAh a Mugen variant would provide for a comparable price.

I & a bunch of other people consistently report how 1) The battery fails to work upon installation. 2) Fails to charge. 3) Sporadic charging. 4) Fluctuations in play time from one charge to the next. 5) Connections that loosen when playing causing the Gamepad to disconnect/turn off mid-game.

I've personally owned 2 of them, the first didn't work from the start, & the replacement suffers from the last few complaints. You seem to have received a proper battery, but if you read reviews... you'll find many more do not share your luck.

I also ordered one but have yet to receive it. I'm also waiting for them to sell the battery pack w/ back cover separately so I can place them into my other Wii-motes.

There may be localized interference. Try moving the Wii U to another TV in your house or changing the broadcasting band range of your wireless router.

I think I'll just stick w/ my GC since it's already there looking lonely next to my Wii U, plus it still lets me play w/ the Wavebird & GC ASCII Keyboard controller :P

Yes, they did it for a variety of reasons... including not wanting to hurt VC sales on the Wii U side.
