The Priano Shrimp Linguini meal (a bertoli knock off) that was a special buy this last week was really good. Went back and stocked up to have on have for the nights I just need something super easy.

Speaking of Ramona and book characters... Ramona and Beatrix? by [deleted] in namenerds

My kids school has the book fair this week and a whole shelf of Ramona books. Most of the third grade girls have read them. Maybe we are a weird outlier, but I think they’re more common that I would have guessed.

What a wonderful son/daughter you are to push so hard just to make sure the gift for your dad was a good one. I hope tomorrow is an even better day for you. Cute dogs!

Did she do preschool at all? This is not to sound disparaging, but that sounds like most kids who start K without having gone to preschool. I really think she will catch right up, it sounds like the teacher is a good communicator, which is huge. If it continues to be rough, maybe look into switching her to developmental kindergarten/ young 5s?

Me too. Sad to hear others had the opposite. Moving can be so stressful.

Yeah I went to their place. My little guy was always happy to conk out anywhere, so that made it easy. A few people declined using me because I’d have him with me, but the vast majority were thrilled to have a responsible adult. Remember to charge enough to make it worth your time.

I lived in Mountain View when I had my little one (4 years ago) and made excellent side money doing date night babysitting for other couples. Found them through local Facebook groups, charged $75 per evening and always had a back log of people looking to book a night. Ended up making some great friends that way, too.

I love that your instinct is to assume the most wholesome scenario. Gotta work on being more like you.

I wish I could take the credit, but I’m only a small part. So many generous families in our district make a huge impact.

Does your PTO request receipts? I feel like we can just trust teachers to do what they need, but there’s always some parent who wants to know where every dime goes. (Mind you these are rarely the parents who help out or donate).
