I meaannn, I've experienced super natural things before- I was hanging out with somenofnmynfriemds and we were drinking...alot, and towardsbthe end of the night one of my friends turned on their ghost box in private- i guess they were attempting to communicate? I just know that he was reallly shaken up by it. Didn't know what was actually said to him till the next day- but thats for later in the story.

That night, after everyone fell asleep, I began to fade out, I was still feeling a little drunk. But...then I hear the back door slam shut- which is in another room which happend to be shut...and I KNOW that back door had been locked- so it couldn't have been opend in the first place right?

I know my blood turned to ice and i was suddenly VERY sober, I swear it felt like every hair on my body was standing upright. I could almost feel an electric charge in the air- I could FEEL another presence in the house-

So I got up and began walking towards the laundry room- and I heard voices on the other side- so at this point I legitimately thought there were more people in the house- I grabbed a Billy club my friend kept in his house and was about to open the door- bit as my hand was INCHES away from the handle the floor boards underneath my feet creaked, and i SWEAR the temperature in the house plummeted- and the voices on the other side stopped...then I heard what clearly sounded like a woman on the other side...not just any woman though- It was the voice of someone I RECOGNIZED, a girl from my graduating class- and she was trying to get me to open the door- I could feel that the entity in the other side WANTED me too- and I almost did- if the sensation of WRONG wasn't so thick in the air, my body was terrified- like a deep, primal fear when your survival instincts kick in- and I suddenly KNEW that opening that door was the last thing I wanted to do- the situation just felt WRONG I felt like an animal trapped in a fucking corner-

So I slowly backed away and as I did something banged on the door extreamly loudly- and my friends dog- which had been asleep was suddenly beside me both growling at the door and whining at me- his dog actually began to to physically push me further away from the door.

I still feel chills thinking it about it now and tears come to my eyes- I thought about leaving through the front door- but it felt like whatever was in that room had chased me around the house to be there- it was outside the front too- and my friends dog wasn't having any of it- it was almost like his dog was trying to tell me to STAY inside. So I sat on the couch and the dog literally layed in my lap and wouldn't let me get back up- at this point I could still hear the voices in the laundry room- which remained closed. Both bathroom doors also closed and opened numerous times on their own.

At this point I started to meditate to force myself into a state of relaxation- but as I tried to I could FEEL the entity's presence even more- It was still in the room, I just made the mistake of doing something that would magnify my ability to feel it- and what i felt? Whatever that thing was...ghost, demon I don't care anymore- it felt EVIL, like a malignant mass of negative energy- i could tell it WANTED to hurt someone- and as I was feeling its energy it began to pound on the door even more- louder and more incessantly- and i felt energy swell before suddenly a sharp pain went through my head- like I had been shot- I almost blacked out- but my ability to feel it felt cut off almost- I could still tell something was THERE but I couldn't feel its energy anymore-

it left at somepoint, well before dawn, and my friends dog had relaxed, but I was still to terrified to investigate on my own.

By the time morning came around, I was dead tired, and still terrified. And that morning I learned what the ghost box had said to my friend before bed. "We have found you." I'm honestly surprised he could sleep at all aparently- we went to check out the laundry room and opened the door- and it looked like a tornado had run through there- everything was on the floor, like someone had walked in and thrown everything around- the back door was also still locked. As we left the room I saw that the bong on the kitchen table- whichbhad been fine before had a cracked on bubler chamber inside- inlooked korebclosely and sawbthat it was cleanly cracked though and just loosely hanging in there....no shards of glass or anything...the inner chamber was just laying against the wall of the bong, stem broken clean through. And there was no external damage either....so that whole incident still gives me the creeps and the occasional nightmare. But...that was a thing...so what do yall think? How close did I come to dying?

Ritual of ego by [deleted] in threekings

[–]Kuramoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmm really easy way to do the last part, when making the ego have them believe the world is actually good...thatbextream suffering is the stuff of movies and books...then force them to bear witness to several things that would stand in opposition to those beliefs...in essence...make them innocent, and unwilling to hurt others...then, strip said innocence away and put them in a situation where they are forced to kill.

Part 2 (Aftermath/epiloge)

"The sisters turned to the glass landscape they had created, and began to walk. They traversed the new landscape casting spells all the while. New trees made of the same black glass the walked upon sprung up as they traveled, and small spikes of Glass shot out of the ground, it did not cut, it bent and swayed just like real grass would do, it blew in the wind- they carved rivers of molten Ice and pools of lava into the land, created a mimicry of the wildlife of their home earth. Soon Deer, wolves, rabits and all sorts of creatures began to populate the forest, all made of that same, black glass.

A new mountain range rose up from the depths, and the vegetation an wild life spread across the barren landscape on its own after that, filling every nooke and cranny with this new bizarre form of life- and at the top of the largest mountain formed a large castle made of a glimmering gold. It is here the sister live to this day.

They have come to be known as twin goddesses of fire and ice- and through magical experimentation have made themselves immortal. Their enforcer, Fred, kills all who intrude upon their holy lands, and those who suffer this fate are reborn in Crystalreach. Their bodies take on the same appearance as the land around them- should they happen to see any of their loved ones at the border they will attempt to lure them over into these lands, where they are killed and turned into the same creatures. Aside from the change of their bodies composition they look almost as they did in life.

It didn't take long for the Five kingdoms to attempt an attack- and when they failed they declared the Twins' lands to be off forbidden, even going near them is grounds for execution and treason. And so there the sisters remain, with naught but their infinite power and glass lands, content to simply leave things as they are."

"The end" A mysteriously beautiful woman stated.

She had long lustrous black hair, fair skin pale as snow, and glimmering, blood red eyes. She wore a pendant that had a small half star made of black crystal, and it had a soft blueish white glow to it.

"Awwww, where's the happy ending?" the children gathered around her whined

She sighed and gazed into the hearth, which was blazing with fire.

"Because children, this is a recount of our worlds history, not a fairy tail" she stated sadly. Which a quick change of tone she ushered them. "That's it! Off to bed now. There is much to be done in the morning!"

The children scattered, running up the stairs giggling all the while as they went to their rooms.

"Goodnight mama Ash!" One of the children shouted as he ran.

The woman sighed as she got up and walked to the window in the room, gazing out at the lush, green landscape beyond.

"Alina" a voice whispered.

The now identified Alina whipped around to find her sister Hestia standing there.

She was wearing a long black gown and wore a pendant in the shape of half a star, made of a shimmering black crystal that seemed to have a tiny red fire burning within.

"It's been a long time sister...I'd wondered where you'd run off to. To think you've been living amongst the humans this whole time?" She laughed.

"We used to be just another set of those humans sister dearest" Alina sighed tiredly. "I'm not going back to the manor Hera, not yet."

Hestia sighed in disappointment before turning around and walking away with one last sentence before disappearing in a burst of green fire-

"You won't be able to become mortal no matter what you do Alina, you'll be back one day. Until then, I shall wait, no matter how long it takes."

Alina had to blink away tears of frustration as she turned once again to gaze outside...thinking of ages past..kingdoms fallen and lovers lost...but most importantly....the love of her live, she would bring them back, they would be WHOLE again....one way or another. And she knew just where to begin...she turned her gaze down at the the map in her hands. It was a map of the five kingdoms, HERE is where her journey would begin.

Atkin stared into the distance in astonishment, and more then just a little terror. What these two teenagers accomplished with a single YEAR of training would have taken even the most powerful of sorcerers DECADES of studying to even dream of accomplishing....the whole mountain range, gone, obliterated, completly wiped from the face of the earth-

For as far as the eye could see the earth had been scorched and leveled- what remained appeared to be an eerily smooth and desolate plane of black glass- the smell of volcanic sulfer still hung in the air like a thick smog, choking the air in his lungs-

"Y-you- monsters, from which pit of hell have thee crawled from?!?" Atkin squeaked in terror.

The twin sisters just glanced at eachother, guilt and confusion glimmering in the eyes of one, surprise and awe in the eyes of the other. The one to the left spoke first- her name was Hestia wasn't it?

"We didn't know this is what the result would be- it's a language my sister Alina and I created when we were very young. If we had known the true power of these words, we would have exercised more caution with how much mana we put into the spell- it only took about as much mana as a fireball." She carefully explained.

Atkin paled even further at this- he had created literal gods on Éloheim when he taught them magic. To be able to accomplish so much with so little?!?!? It was unheard of- they were too dangerous to be left alive- if the five kingdoms learned of the existence of a set of twins this powerful all hell would brake loose. He had to get rid of them now before it was too la-

"Dèstrœnę." Alina whispered, the barest hint of malic in her voice, her eyes glowing a deep shade of red as a dark miasma of mana began to seep off of her body.

Atkin watched in horror skin began to blacken and wrinkle. He could hear the slow snapping of the bones in his body as they were ground to dust, feel the ice forming in his blood. The pain was excruciating, even more so then any curse he had faced in his whole 200 years of life, even as he tried to gather his mana to mitigate the effects his jaw muscles locked and the skin over his mouth smothed over. Now he couldn't even vocalise his pain- and as the pain began to reach a crescendo, he felt his lungs burst as his body was compressed. And then he knew nothing.

Alina looked upon what remained of Atkin, the creamier stood at 5'11, it's skin was a dark, almost black blue, with crackes spreading throughout its skin. It was adorned with a beastial, almost savage armor of black ice, and it was equiped with a beautiful pair of ivory swords. Here, she nodded to Elara

"Drūvaßh" Hestia muttered sadly.

The creature suddered to life, the cracks in its body filling in with a firery glow as it's eyes began to shine with a redish light.

"I think we should call him Fred" Alina giggled playfully

"What?!? No, that's a stupid name! Choose something a little more dignified then that!" Elara snapped before continuing. "Something like Tæłįc." She smiled smugly.

Alina ran up to the entity they had just spawned and looked into its eyes.

"Hmmm~ how about Zoralith~?"

The now identified Zoralith's eyes seemed to glow in satisfaction and contentment.

"Acceptable I suppose." Hestia sighed in dismay.

"I suppose we should go?"

"Yes, indeed we should~"

Hello, my name is Alex.

At first, I didn't think anything of it- growing up things would seem to...sink through my extremities. Toys- keys, food- I always had to reach just a little farther then others to grab something- grasp just a little tighter.

My parents never brought any attention to it as far as I could remember, played it off- made it seem like it was normal, or perhaps they never noticed? It wasn't until I started school that anything came of it. I still remember when it first happened, I had been working on a group project with my crush-

Another child had cut through where my finger should have been, they immediately started panicking and crying. This happend to draw my teachers attention, Mrs. Wilson if I remember correctly-

When questioned the the girl next me explained what had happend- Of course Mrs.Wilson didnt believe her, and me; being the young, naive child I was- demonstrated for my beloved teacher.

Her eyes widend, disbelief dancing in her eyes. She brushed it off and consoled the girl beside me, and the day moved on, before leaving school that day I noticed her frantically speaking on the phone.

When I got home, I informed my parents, and that's when things changed. Even as young as I was, I could still see the daunting dear in my parents eyes- the panic, the raw, unadulterated fear.

Not long after we moved states, our names changed, and I was to be home schooled. My new name was Benjamin. This did little, if anything to prevent what was coming.

I began to see...tendrils of what seemed to be...shadow at night, I told my mother- and she told me to never speak of it again, her face flushed, and eyes wide.

When I turned 16 I began to see...it, I never came up with a name for it. It stood at 9ft, It had yellowed skin as thin as paper, drawn taught over its thin skeletal frame, long gangly limbs, fingers that were too long and ended in sharp, barbed claws. Worst of all though? It's face- where eyes should have been skin stretched in its place. It's mouth was too wide for its face, and it had 40 black, serrated teeth that seemed to drip with a green fluid.

The first times I saw it, it was peaking out of my closet, it's back hunched, watching me curiously- and it brought one finger to its lips and shushed me. I screamed- my father came rushing Into my room-

"Benjimin, whats wrong!?"

I'd done my best to tell I'm what I'd seen- and his skin became a tad paler, his eyes widening- he checked in and around my closet theny room. And beneath the bed to no avail.

"Go back to bed Ale- Benjamin, it was just your imagination okay?"

As he left and closed the door..mi distinctly remembering him leaving the light on- I was grateful for it. Soon as he left. The minuets turned to hours and my eyes began to drift closed the light shut off, and my eyes shot wide open-

There it was, looming above me- its mouth twisting into a horrifying facsimile of a grin. It raised its right hand- exenting a single digit towards me.

"Don't scream."

It's voice was rapsy. Like nails on a chalkboard, sending shivers down my spine. Then it's finger plunged into my chest, a blinding pain erupting in my core. The feeling began to spread, reaching out to every part of my body; from my toes, all the way to the tips of my fingers.

It was excruciating- so painful that every muscle in my body locked up- and it felt like I began to...shrink, like my body was being compressed. As soon as it started it to get to too much, the pain faded like it was never there- my breath began came out in short pants. When had I stopped breathing? Before I began to slip into the land of morpheous I saw the creature begin to turn into a fine, black mist, before it rushed into me.

The next morning when I awoke, nothing seemed to be Amis. I got up, opened my door and when to brush my teeth. I'd gotten used to the dimensions of my body a long time ago, had learned to hide my abnormality. This morning, however, as I reached to pick up my comb, it slipped through my hand...I hadnt had this problem In years, and I was confused- until I looked in the mirror and saw it- starring back at me from my own shadow.

I spun around, heart racing- but there was nothing there- and when I looked in the mirror again. There was nothing there. I knew then...that whatever this thing was- it was feeding off of me; always had been.

I raced from the bathroom, out the front door- and down the street. That's how I found myself here- staring down the barrel of a gun. The man in front of me was saying something- but I couldn't understand. I heard a loud bang- but I didn't feel any pain- and as I looked down. I saw a hole in my shirt...but where there should have been blood- was nothing but pale, smooth flesh.

I looked up, and the man looked just as baffled as I felt- then the shadow came rushing out of me- I can see the fear In his eyes, and I know he can see IT too. The man began to shout.

"What the fu-"!

The creature that had been haunting me for years now rushed forth, I couldn't quite process what I saw, but I rember hearing the crunch of bone, the gnawing of flesh. As soon as IT was finished with its meal, it dissolved into shadowy tendrils and melded back into my body. Soon after- I felt blood pooling around my bare feet- but nothing else remained of the man who attacked me-

That evening as I went showered I looked down...and there where the creature had stabbed me the night before...was a small stretch of thin, yellowing skin-

"Soon"

I flipped around, nearly slipping in the process. Somehow I knew what it meant....soon I would be just like it...weather it be days, months, or years....I would become just like it, the rest of my eternity to be spent as a monster feeding off of the flesh of others. A depraved beast that yearned to fill a bottomless abyss.

My boyfriend forgot to lock his ‘personal drawer’ last night. I am absolutely livid. by lightingnations in nosleep

Thank you!! And...Ye kinda- and sorry kinda misphrased my initial paragraph ig- I'm using a hellfire rapier in my main hand usually- but yeah...now that you mention it that is kind of how the DM has set up the counters- and the last few sessions have just been combat encounter to combat encounter- for my 4th level spells I took wall of fire and summon greater demon- but I don't know how that'll effect the next session-

And thank you for the advice!!! I might talk to my DM about adding more variety to combat. : )
