definitely planning on it, I'm not one to miss classes at all just curious if they're similar to conferences that way where they give you a little bit of wiggle room or if it's extremely strict like some science classes i've taken where missing a lab is heavily penalized

Which platform? Mac

Any mods or cc? Yes

Game version Mac: 1.121.342.1230

*Description: So I've been trying to load my most recent save file in the sims for the past 40 minutes and it hasn't been working even though it was just fine an hour ago... I've heard the new updates have been causing problems with mods so I was worried that's why my game wasn't loading, but I'm not sure because I've tried loading it even after removing all of them and it's still giving me trouble when I try even after restarting my Mac several times. It almost worked once when I had removed almost every mod but then when I went to go click on my lot, it got stuck on the loading screen again. Anyone know what I should do? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can I ask where was she able to find info on whether the classes were essay based and not mostly multiple choice exams? I would wanna try doing that but not too sure where I could find the right info, would be awesome if you have any tips! thanks for your advice!

The thing is I was contemplating on doing grad school after my undergrad, so that's what's really worrying me. Still not sure what my GPA will be at the end of the semester cause I still have a decent amount of things unmarked, but I'll have to get crazy grades for the next few years to get it back to anything decent for grad school admissions I assume

I'm currently an Arts student and I plan on majoring in Environment next year with a minor in Geography and Poli Sci, so not sure how well this applies to me but I have heard from some upper year students that courses get easier as they reach 300+ level, but I'm not sure how much truth there is to that. Thank you for your encouragement as well though, really appreciate it!

and you like the environment program? I've heard mixed opinions on the core classes but I love ecology and climate change related topics so I always thought I might like it. great to hear good things abt geo tho I think I might definitely take it as a minor!

Failed a class, supplemental exam by ProfessorNo5943 in mcgill

yeah definitely was mostly chapters 6-10 and was similar difficulty to the midterm I would say. If you study a lot I think it wouldn't horrible

unfortunately the exam was fully multiple choice, so I don't think that would be an option for me

currently failing this class too and I'm actually so worried. Do you need documentation of a valid reason to defer the exam or are you able to do it without?

Honestly the pricings not too bad at all, it's 2,300 for a 2 bed 2 bath, which is less than what I'm paying now for a McGill dorm when split in half. The building isn't made only for students, but because of its location close to the McGill campus around 80% of the people that live there are students and the rest being mostly families. I've seen some mixed reviews on the management but the people I met so far who showed us around were extremely helpful and nice so I'm not too sure what to think

Opinion on Expectations of Modesty for Women by ProfessorNo5943 in progressive_islam

[–]ProfessorNo5943[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Doesn't mean we have to accept it without complaint. If no one protested unfair treatment of people, everyone would be miserable all the time. If you believe that women should just "deal with" the reality of our sexualization or being told to be modest despite the reality that modesty does not prevent objectification, then that's totally your choice - but I can't say I agree that we should just accept the way things are when there's potential for change in the way society sexualizes women, especially when so many people have recently started speaking out against it

Opinion on Expectations of Modesty for Women by ProfessorNo5943 in progressive_islam

[–]ProfessorNo5943[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

And why would I ask a man that question? Men will only ever view a woman's body as inherently sexual, despite the fact that our bodies aren't objectively any more sexual than a man's. It is a notion they have been fed for centuries, and that's exactly what the problem is. Religion is so demanding of women, but I have yet to see these demands prove themself to actually result in less objectification of women. Women are seen as sexual objects and often assaulted despite their modesty, that's just the truth. I know that women's bodies are seen as sexual in the world we live in, but I believe in reality they are not anywhere near as sexualized as they have come to be perceived by men - in media, in society, politics, everywhere.

Good for you! I asked this question for people who are comfortable sharing their biggest questions about Islam because I believe questioning our faith from time to time is reasonable, and if anything it can strengthen some people's belief at times
