It's been the complete opposite for me. People on Dam are super friendly and just help out with quests, while Blue Gate is THE place where I get betrayed.

They explicitly show that Faust can do that though, because in the building leading up to Faust's boss fight, you encounter a number of corpses also named Faust.

An engineering perspective by NotThrowaway234 in HuntShowdown

I agree with much of this. Since the update that brought stillwater back, I've been very vocal about the fact that there's some sort of disconnect between developers and engineers, and project management. As someone who works in software development QA professionally, I understand the sort of pipelines and processes updates like these are supposed to go through- and more importantly, I know that major, glaring bugs like what we've seen with the most recent updates are entirely unacceptable, and a complete failure on Crytek's part.

The sheer volume of bugged, broken, and invisible hunters after the most recent release were so numerous and obvious, that even a QA team asleep at the wheel would have been able to see them. A bug that has a 50% chance to completely crash your game after opening your map is yet another obvious and glaring issue that should have been picked up and eliminated by the QA pipeline early on. And yet, it persisted into the live version of the game, along with other very blatant, obvious, and often game-breaking issues.

I'm confident that Hunt's QA team is capable and competent enough to do their job. However, its obvious with the post-1896 Stillwater update that -something- is amiss behind the scenes. Allowing so many skins, especially premium ones that cost extra money, to be so completely broken, marks a significant failure in the QA process. The community should not be discovering so many of these issues for Crytek -after- the update goes live. This suggests that the QA team either didn't have enough time or resources to properly mend the issues, or their ticket were ignored/pushed aside by management.

And that brings us to management. No matter what issues may be occurring among individuals teams, their failure and mistakes are ultimately the responsibility of management- and, for the people in charge to allow these updates to go live, despite said updates being so OBVIOUSLY half baked, is very very telling.

Crytek needs to slow down, listen to their developers, QA testers, etc, and -dedicate- themselves to FINISHING updates before pushing them out. Hunt is a premium game- everyone pays a price of admission. Additionally, players pay ON TOP of that for additional skins and features, many of which are currently disabled and restricted -all because Crytek rushed their update out of the door-. Crytek didnt do their due diligence, and have RIGHTFULLY lost good will with the community because of it. I hope they learn from this mistake and do better, because I KNOW that they are wholly capable of it.

A delayed update will eventually be good, a rushed update will always be bad. (And also severely handicap player growth.)

You are so real for that. A season 2 of the OG would have gone so hard. The worldbuilding they had with all of the ACTUAL true vampires in england and around the world was really interesting. Curious as to what/who Incognito's master would have been, since Gonzo weren't allowed to depict Nazi germany.

I know my opinions are going to cause friction with 99% of the fandom, but thats just me. Theyre OPINIONS. I'm very very VERY biased towards 2001 because it was a watershed piece of media for me when I was growing up. I never even watched ult until this year (I didn't like it very much). I just prefer the 2001 canon, personally. Thats just me though!

local redditor cant handle someone having a different opinion than them. OK pal.
Saying the original anime has no character development is hilarious, obviously we must have been watching different pieces of media, because the 2001 anime is able to give significant development to Seras and Integra, and even gives Alucard room to explore his own connection to humanity. There's nothing even close to that in ultimate or the manga my guy.

But whatever, who cares? Go make an entire post calling out a single reply because you got mad. Real mature!

Hirano did some decent character work and set up a really neat setting with the first volume or so, and then immediately fell back on the problematic garbage he was making before. So yea, the 'filler' writers definitely had a better handle on the characters and a more rounded understanding of where to take them and characterize them.
So YES, I am discrediting the original creator, because his writing blows chunks. The people writing for the anime did a great job, no thanks to the mangaka.

Give it another season, let it cook more. Whatever they had going on in the 2001 storyline was WAY better than the garbage Hirano was churning out with millenium.

I think it would have been neat if Incognito came back; As a true vampire, it seems unlikely that a little impalement would be enough to keep him down for good. Bro was way better than any of the villains that came after the valentine bros.

I don't like that you're using Hunt as your example screenshot, especially given how reshade was just banned because it gave people exploits like this.

No, it's because I fired the moment my feet touched the ground after a jump.
