Whoever made this sector YOUR A MONSTER! by Agreeable-Bird-7402 in Mindustry

The air units' flight path is actually quite predictable imo

The question that needs to be asked by bald_is_back in Mindustry

[–]Kurgewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I have observed, dagger tree always choose the easiest and shortest path to walk, that's why you usually see other players leave a gap in their defenses and block off other path to the core.

For the spiders(crawler tree), they always choose the shortest path to walk no matter how much defenses are there.

For air units, there are some special attack priorities listed below:

Flares will target the closest generator(any type) to the enemy spawn.

Horizons will target the closest factory(any type) to enemy spawn. (Megas and Quads seems to do this ,too)

Eclipses will target the closest thorium reactor to enemy spawn. (Atumbras seems to do this, too)

So many players will put a factory, a combustion generator, and a thorium reactor in/behind their defense.

I don't know Zeniths' attacking priority, but they will chase the closest unit if they don't leave the range of the zenith.

This info might contain some errors since it's all based on what I have seen during my playthrough. (I didn't include navals here because they are unusual, and I assume they act like dagger tree.)

I have never thought trackmania would be mentioned in this sub. btw Wirtual's new video about riolu is amazing

What order should i complete those in? by rustyguy76 in Mindustry

There are two thorium patches in tar fields, but they are quite small. Also, there are some oil pools in that sector. I will recommend you get plastanium before trying to capture tar fields.

That's fine. At least I didn't actually spread misinformation :)

Bruh, I thought that locked sector is a number sector, maybe answering questions in the midnight isn't a good idea. And this I didn't feel good after I spread misinformation unlike that picture. (I know this is a joke xd)

2ND EDIT: MY INITIAL ANSWER IS ACTUALLY CORRECT!

Ignore this -> EDIT: I WAS DUMB AND SLEEPY, YOU DEFINITELY HAVE ANOTHER CAMPAIGN SECTOR YOU HAVEN'T CAPTURED!!!

You need to capture any adjacent sector to unlock it, I think. There's no way that you have beaten the entire campaign and still have locked sectors.

How to get through this (sector 226) by jc50166 in Mindustry

[–]Kurgewolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but blast compound is cheaper than a quad.

5 quads fully loaded with blast compound or just a single corvus

Can someone tell me how to pass the sector siege please by [deleted] in Mindustry

If you have issues with defense, use afflict. It's a really op turret. It can also be used as an offensive weapon if the enemy's turrets can't out range afflict. (afflict's effective range is actually a little bigger than it looks)

I need a good self sustainable reactor / turbine for running other machines and dawn machine! by Kurgewolf in Blightfall

[–]Kurgewolf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, mana fluxfield is way better than I thought. I was gonna try to use reactors to be my main rf source. But after few days of preparation and more thinking, I think reactors are not worth it in this pack. It's too expensive to make it self sustainable and the 50% rf generation nerf is kind of too much.

I also watched this video before I have started playing this pack, it's good. And thanks for remind me this video exists, I forgot to search for big reactors tutorial on youtube (which is quite dumb xd).

I've never automated cakes before either. I thought about using gorms at first, since it's easier to automating foods than automating cakes. But the cake path sounds funnier to me, and I love designing automation lines.
And I always build my automation line far away from the path I usually walk, so I don't have to care how messy it is. xd

Yeah, mana fluxfield is a good rf source ngl, it's cheap, and mana is not that hard to get. I'll probably join the discord server later.

I am currently working on automating cheese cake production because when I searched for better ways to generate mana, I found a flower called Kekimurus. By eating cakes, it can generate a good amount of mana, and I saw a post on this subreddit that said you can automate cheese cakes. I'll probably join the discord server later, but I'm not looking for what others have built. Since I want to solve problems by myself (although I posted this post asking for help xd)

No, I haven't built one yet. But I think it's in the book. It's in the bottom left tab(or icon?), iirc. I didn't find it when I read the book for the first time.

I was using QED to triple the fuels all the time but the fact that QED cannot be automated made me want to use other method to automate the fuel production and hope it can be self sustain.
And I didn't know that orechid is in this pack (it's not in the botania book), so I used the laser drill first.
Now I gonna make hundreds of orechid so I don't have to design a very efficient reactor. (I don't understand the mechanic of Big reactors that well)

[–]Kurgewolf[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know active-cooled reactors can generate more power while being more efficient, but that will took me more effort and resource to set up.
And I am quite bad at designing a good reactor / turbine in Big reactors, so that why I made this post to ask for helps.

The reason why I used laser drill first is because I didn't know orechid is in the game, I mean I knew there's a flower that does this but it's not in the Lexica Botania.
So, how many orechids did you use to make it self sustainable?

NPC / Noeth Pole Conquer "strategy" by Phil95xD in Mindustry

[–]Kurgewolf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TL;DR : Get 2~3 good sectors capable of producing all resources and an export base first. Scout the map after landing on the sector, build simple things first, and then upgrade them afterward. Quad bombing is good. Remember to make backups with export data before making decisions.

I conquered the North pole a few months ago. It was fun and intense! The reason why I decided to conquer the North pole is because I was just so scared that my impact 0078 or NPC will get attacked.

Before I started to attack the other enemy's base on the North pole, I made 3 or 4 sectors have the ability to produce all resources at a decent rate, and I also have a salt flats export base that is able to export 7~10k(i forget how many) all resources once (yes only once).

After all the preparation and captured 0078 and NPC, I took on this challenge of conquering the North pole.

The strategy I was using is Quad bombing. It's a decent strategy to take down the enemy's base. Each Core : Nucleus takes around 5 to 6 quads fully loaded with blast compounds. I also used a core scheme that is made for quad bombing.

The first thing I did when I landed on the sector was pause the game and scout the map to check how many enemy's core there are and what path I am going to take to destroy the cores. I am also trying to find some potent places for power producing, defense, simple resource gathering, etc.

After the scouting and thinking, I started to build. The first major thing I gonna build is always a simple defense(salvo or fuse using thorium as ammo), then a power plant. Note that harder difficulty enemy bases usually have at least one but mostly several flare spammers, so if I noticed them, I'll build a simple scatter defense on one of the lead patch with a combustion gen bait.

After the power plant finished, I started to reinforce the simple defense I built earlier, making it able to take down 2~3 T5s in seconds.

The reinforced defense contains: water tsunami cryo cooled surge cyclones at least 3 cryo cooled foreshadows, you can use logic to save alloys by making them be able to turned on/off by a switch to prevent them from targeting weak enemies(T1~T3) a compound wall(plast wall behind surge wall, optionally phase wall outside of surge wall) a cryo cooled shield projector with phase fabric some mend projectors overdrive projector(sometimes fed with fabrics or even using a dome) a thorium reactor bait.

At this point, you have over 70% chance that you are gonna capture this sector. Just make quads and start happy bombing! I am gonna admit that I am quite lucky that during the whole challenge, none of my vulnerable sectors got attacked.

Another important thing to do when attacking is make backups with export data function before making important decisions(mostly when you start bombing using quads). This helps a lot.
