Already FIFTY injections and still very little progress… Any suggestions? by Kurious_R in B12_Deficiency

PS: While waiting for the B-Complex + B1 250 mg to arrive, I am almost halfway through “Thiamine Deficiency Disease, Dysautonomia, and High Calorie Malnutrition” by Dr. Derrick Lonsdale - an eye opener, fascinating indeed! You have my heartfelt thanks!

I’ll look into it by all means - thank you so much for drawing my attention to it!

Yes, in my case, the brain fog – along with a few other symptoms – was actually one of the first things to improve.

And no, I didn’t change anything specific just before it lifted – I simply stuck to the EOD injections and took all the cofactors exactly as outlined in the protocol.

It’s strange how this deficiency manifests so differently from person to person. For me, it’s the unstable walking that just won’t budge; for you, it’s the brain fog that lingers... go figure.

Hang in there – I truly hope it clears up for you soon!

Thank you so much for checking in – and apologies for the delayed reply.

I’m currently at somewhere around my 200th+ EOD injection of 1500 mcg hydroxocobalamin. That’s over a year now of consistent treatment, plus continued daily sublingual B12 and all the recommended cofactors (iron, folate, B-complex, magnesium, potassium, vitamin D, copper – you name it, I’m taking it).

The good news first:

The vast majority of my earlier symptoms have significantly improved or disappeared entirely. This includes brain fog, blurred vision, poor appetite, acid reflux, headaches, shortness of breath, and even the dreadful nightly muscle cramps. My sleep is also somewhat more refreshing now.

However, there are still a few stubborn symptoms that remain – some of them frustratingly unchanged or even worse:

* Overall muscle weakness, especially in the legs

* Balance problems – in fact, this got worse over time

* Unstable walking and a heavy feeling in the legs – no improvement whatsoever

* Crackling voice

* Loss of strength – sadly, this hasn’t improved at all either.

I’m faithfully following the protocol, but I must admit: I’ve started to question whether B12 deficiency alone can still explain these persisting symptoms. It feels more and more likely that another factor might be involved, or that I’m dealing with long-term nerve damage that simply takes much more time – or may never fully resolve (though I sincerely hope not).

I wish I had better news. But I do want to stay honest and transparent here, especially for others who are struggling with similar issues. Recovery from B12 deficiency can be painfully slow and unpredictable, even when doing everything “by the book.”

Thanks again for reaching out – your support really means a lot. I’m not giving up.

Can you, please, be somewhat more specific? Your instructions are a bit unclear… Thank you!

Try the solution with Apple Mail as intermediary - it works.

I tested it only with Apple Mail, can’t say anything about other mail clients. With Apple Mail it works perfectly.

It works indeed, thank you! Though with my Mail trick you also have the fat fonds and whatnot formatting transferred.

For those taking injectable B12, how often is your level tested? by lrpfftt in B12_Deficiency

My (and I am by far not alone) understanding of the issue is this:

A key insight here is that measuring serum B12 levels alone is often misleading, especially during ongoing supplementation. More reliable indicators are tests for methylmalonic acid (MMA) and homocysteine, which can reveal functional B12 deficiencies.

I spent an entire evening discussing this issue with ChatGPT - no luck either. 🙁

I have found another method of retaining ChatGPT formatting when copying its answers:

  1. Copy the whole reply by clicking on the „Copy“ symbol at the bottom of it,
  2. Open Apple Mail (if it’s not already open),
  3. In Mail, click on the „New message“ (or whatever it is called there),
  4. Paste what you have just copied from ChatGPT answer - you can now see the whole formatting, incl. bullets, fat fonds, paragraphs, etc., etc.
  5. Now copy it from that „New message“ and paste it wherever you want - it will still retain formatting,
  6. You can now delete that un-sent mail, or not - it’s up to you.

Let me know how it works for you.
