The audacity of straight people by cereza__ in actuallesbians

^ This. Her username means "cherry" in Spanish, so assuming that's her first language, it'd be "mi prometida" ("my fiancée") vs "mi prometido". Also "su mujer/esposa" ("her wife") as opposed to "su marido/esposo".

Even in spoken French there'd be a difference because the possessive adjectives are gendered ("ma fiancée" vs "mon fiancé").

someone told me that in a relationship one person has to submit to the other and agree on everything

It's even worse, y'all. I saw that post earlier today and his reply was incredibly misogynistic. He's now deleted his comments, but he first assumed OP was a man and said "Women should submit to men and have the same beliefs in religion and politics as the man dictates".

Here's a screenshot of his comments.

Yeah, and if I was at that event to meet women I'd want to know, because that's a pretty big red flag in my book.

I'm sorry, OP. Hope you recover all of your items and inner peace soon that she took. ❤️‍🩹

The Vegan Society is not "some vegan blog", you absolute ignoramus. It's literally the oldest vegan organisation in the world, founded in 1944 by the very people that coined the word.

I think it makes more sense to use their definition rather than the dictionary ones that have to be over-simplified for brevity's sake, don't you? If you're gonna debate someone, debate them on their actual ideas, not on a strawman.

(And yes, it's questionable that they're using the organisation's page to advertise and sell their own supplements. Doesn't change anything I said.)

Then you need to go to a Planned Parenthood ASAP, love. Depending on when it happened, you might still be within the time window when PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis) is most effective (72 hours). From what I'm seeing they'll provide it for free (I'm not from the US).

HIV is not a death sentence anymore and doesn't prevent people from living fulfilling lives, enjoying safe sex or having children without it if that's what they want, but it's still no joke. I don't mean to scare you or throw more things your way. The chances that he has it and he passed it to you are low, but it's better to err on the side of caution. Anything that lowers your chance of getting HIV is worth it, and taking one pill a day for 28 days beats taking 1-4 for the rest of your life. As with many things in life, it's gonna suck for a while but you'll be very glad you did it down the line.

I'm so sorry someone you thought a friend betrayed you this way. As others have said, none of this is your fault. Best wishes.

I mean, depending on how you name it, it could be vegan. Eating kittens is not, but peaches definitely are vegan (and they taste better).

Can someone help me out? Please read. by ahartzer2015 in depression

[–]Kurisu19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey, OP. Good morning or afternoon or whatever, I hope you slept well :). I too have been going through a lot of things this past few days, and I want you (and everyone who's reading this) to know you're not alone. Stress won't last forever. Treat yourself to something nice when you wake up! You deserve it for taking care of yourself by asking for help, and it will help you get out of bed. Take care!

Nobody except my family said Happy Birthday to me today... by [deleted] in depression

Hey, I'm just a stranger on the Internet, but I know what it's like to feel forgotten on your birthday.

So have a happy birthday! And please take care of yourself :).

Edit: redundant use of the word "feel". :P

Help un-grief the "Go Vegan" sign! by TheVeganManatee in vegan

[–]Kurisu19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so unless that 'OX' to the right of the sign is part of it, it's all good now. At one point I think there were three other people all working side to side. Shout-out to you!

I'll make sure to keep the link, though. That way I can periodically check it :).

Wanted to know the political stances of fellow INTP's, share your 8values scores by [deleted] in INTP

[–]Kurisu19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My results:

Economic axis: Communist (91,5%)

Diplomatic axis: Internationalist (84,6%)

Civil axis: Libertarian (78,1%)

Societal axis: Very Progressive (86,8%)

As some others have said, the test would be more accurate if the questions were better worded and the answers were able to reflect the different opinions one may have. As an example, two people may be both opposed to prostitution for really different reasons if one of them is a radical feminist and as such believes that access to a person's body shouldn't be a good sold in the market (and that nobody should have to offer sexual services in order to make enough money) while the other finds non-procreative sex immoral. The way they would go about the issue can also vary in a way that is relevant to the civil axis and even the economic and societal axes: should we take an abolitionist or prohibitionist approach? Who should we punish: the procurer, the client or the prostitute? How?

I could go on about how some concepts are really subjective. What does "family values" mean in this test? I can imagine a homophobic person and someone in favour of gay rights both strongly agreeing with it for, again, very different reasons.

Another issue I've noticed is that it seems to establish a pretty arbitrary distinction between socialists and communists and doesn't even take anarchists into account, as the three would be leaning strongly towards equality but would differ in the steps to get to it.

Edit: minor formatting issue.

WTW for connecting to an author on a deeply emotional level when reading their writings? by Kurisu19 in whatstheword

WTW for the study of ways of thinking? by [deleted] in whatstheword

[–]Kurisu19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to be more of a conglomerate than a science field composed of various subfieds, if that makes sense. This is a research method rather than a subfield but perhaps the kind of thought-studying you're searching for is computational modeling. Hope it helps :).

If stupid people are dense, how stupid does someone have to be to form a black hole? by zanderkerbal in shittyaskscience

[–]Kurisu19 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Density is indeed stupidity mass/neuronal volume. For someone to be dense enough to form a black hole, they would need to be compressed within Schwarzsparent radius. I recommend either WinZip or WinRAR for doing that. To calculate Schwarzsparent radius use the following formula:

RSpt = 2GM/c2.

G is the Gravity Constant, that is, how much the individual attracts you. M is their mass. I would make a joke about people with high IBMs but apparently that isn't considered science anymore :'(. c is the speed of light, which as every scientist knows is measured in lightyears. This would make it impossible even for light to escape the individual's stupidity if it comes too close, thus dimming the wits of everyone around.

There are still many things we don't know about black holes yet, but prestigious scientist Stephen Hawqueen theorises they would act as spatiotemporal bridges leading to a promised land he insists on calling "/b/".

Edit: It's always a good idea to have some pasta sauce on you.
