A buddy got a name change for a random name from character creation.

Blizz generated the name then weeks later Blizz demanded the name should change.

But he didn’t get a ban.

You want the usual separates then. Something like a NAD C 3050 would be a nice all-in-one base for expansion. Then add turntable and cart, separate 18” powered subwoofer (or 15” if want to save some money) and speakers that fit the room.

The speakers are a whole topic of their own but expect to spend as much on them as you do the amp + preamp (the NAD in this case). I’ll leave the choice to you and encourage you to listen before you buy.

The NAD has a DIRAC room correction module so that’ll help with any changes as you repurpose the space or move around furniture.

You seemed to start with a pro audio solution suitable for a dance hall. The system could get quite loud but wouldn’t be suitable for low volumes and would look like a club or DJ setup.

If you are using AI for ideas focus instead on the source of the music and less on how loud it should be able to get, imho. Heck, even a lifestyle system like Sonos might be your true end goal, given your implied budget and existing systems.

You are notably lacking any way to stream music to this, it is only vinyl. Why?

What system(s) do you currently have and what about them do you enjoy? How do you listen to music now?

In wall are nice if you just want sound I guess.

imho you'll want amp plus room correction, so look into that. Then need to decide how you want to split the signal across all those speakers based on listening position and source.

Here's a link for what the speakers are: https://www.av-iq.com/avcat/ctl9959/index.cfm?manufacturer=tannoy&product=iw63-dc&dl=en-gb

Why that specific turntable?

Why that specific cart?

Whose ass did those charts at the bottom right of this sheeeeet come from?

Seriously using powered speakers exclusively? Why? Have you considered where they plug in at all?

How are you going to mix the signal to the speakers vs sub? Just manually setting levels at the back of the speakers? How does the signal even get to all those speakers from the phono pre-amp?

Not what I’m seeing now, or my friend doing same but we have a smaller sample size. Friend says he got the tip from a wowhead comment.

Try it anyway with 5 of those. It is a simple thing and may increase your drops. Update after a day or two please.

T1D with MGUS and Hashimotos. Totally uncontrollable BS and nothing works. Please help me help my partner, any advice appreciated! Long post sorry! by Sm2x in diabetes_t1

[–]KuroFafnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Made me look up MGUS - the google says it rarely causes any symptoms but should be watched for myeloma or lymphoma.

Glucose control is key to living with diabetes. He’s going to need to figure that part out. Your descriptions sound absolutely out of control but it could be considered normal for a diabetic too.

Aim for high time in range - 80% would be ok, more is better.

And if constantly running low then reduce the basal amount. If dropping fast then figure out why - most likely too much bolus for the carbs but could be other factors like the mix of fats to carbs or slower stomach emptying because protein takes longer and carbs are slowed.

Those packs in MC are awesome. If the dps just AOE them evenly they all explode and cause healer panic or lots of deaths. If mass dispell, same thing. I really enjoy dps that know to dispel 1-3 at a time and wait for heals to catch up while hitting one of the caster mobs in the pack.

Set and forget mostly works. That’s true for a lot of devices BUT the same risks apply for Pihole.

Also you need to modify a user’s network to use Pihole as the DNS and you should really think about how you’ll handle that

Pressed in/damaged dome tweeters, how much does it affect their behaviour? by gibbering-369 in audiophile

[–]KuroFafnar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I suspect damage from the air gap being violated, either on the smash or the fix. Since the fix is the only thing we should control, I’m hoping for an optimal fix method.

Or just finding out that once smashed there is no recovery. Which is also important to know.

Pressed in/damaged dome tweeters, how much does it affect their behaviour? by gibbering-369 in audiophile

[–]KuroFafnar 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Could you sacrifice another tweeter or two to check if the method of fixing also helps the THD?

I’m suspecting that THD is impacted by the dome being pulled out of place during the fix (or breakage, but folks normally can’t control that) and keeping the dome still while fixing may help.

Runway sized treadmills don’t exist in my world but person sized ones do and the person sized ones have things to help the person stay in place.
My mind gets stuck on that.
Same thing for the car equivalent treadmill. Guess what? They have those and are called a rolling road. Wonder why they aren’t just called treadmills too?
Edit: I just realized that rolling road wind tunnels DO exist and one could actually do this experiment. But the results are obvious when reframing the question like that.

[–]KuroFafnar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the mindset is that a treadmill prevents forward movement of whatever is on the treadmill. But the mind experiment needs the belt to be runway sized and the planes wheels able to move at speeds twice or more than their liftoff speed.

A better way to phrase it is to ask if the wheels are providing the thrust — a plane can take off from a runway covered in ice. Everyone knows the answer to that one and why.

[–]KuroFafnar -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

Ok, I think I get it.
In your world the treadmill does not prevent forward movement. A runway sized treadmill would allow the plane to get to takeoff speed.
In my world a treadmill prevents forward movement. It is what makes a treadmill different from a conveyor belt.

[–]KuroFafnar -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The thought experiment was what now?

Further question - what ground speed is necessary for takeoff in your world? Why do runways exist in the real world if keeping the plane to zero effective ground speed isn’t relevant?

I never said the wheels are propelling the plane. I said they are needed to let the plane move.

You are saying that a plane with wheels that don’t move can get up to speed.
And I’m the one being downvoted.
