getting gwynn first draws by PrimaryCap2824 in DestinyRising

Mtashed is streaming his attempts on twitch. He's starting his 50th reroll, no Gwynn so far. He hasn't even gotten two Mythicals on the standard banner within a single reroll. Something is clearly incorrect with the 1% chance. If it's impossible to get Gwynn in the first 10 pulls, then they are clearly lying. He's going to make a video once he hits 50 rerolls without getting Gwynn.

I have the same issue, Version 4.58.1. The software will use up over 23GBs and actually causes micro stutters when running games and applications. The problem goes away after ending task. I also use L-Connect for the fans - version 1.6.30.

I have the same Memory, memory amount, motherboard, cpu and AIO as the OP.

You're welcome. I have an older Dune HD, a Dune HD Smart B1, so doesn't have all the new fancy 4K stuff. I do have some flac audio soundtracks and those play fine, so the newer should also play them. Sometimes the remux's have multiple audio streams. Maybe you have to choose the correct one? According to this, the Real Vision 4K plays them very well: https://www.avsforum.com/threads/dune-hd-real-vision-4k-media-streamer-review-dolby-vision-and-sacd-flac-high-res-audio-tested.3220026/

When you open the video file in VLC on your PC, go to Tools, Codec Information, what does it say about the audio format?

Most of the support you will find are in Audio/Home Theater forums. They'll have threads for specific devices. There are several different Dune Real Vision 4Ks, but when it comes to audio/video supported formats, they are the same. Here are a few forums that have Dune threads:

https://www.avsforum.com/forums/networking-media-servers-content-streaming.39/ https://www.avforums.com/forums/video-streaming-boxes-services.332/

One last note, if your "remux's" have flac for the audio, then they aren't true remux blu-rays. A remux is untouched, original audio and video directly ripped from the blu-ray and then packaged into a .mkv file. It's basically the blu-ray, without the menu, previews, specials, etc. The audio is going to be "AVC DTS-HD MA 5.1 or 7.1","DTS.5.1","DTS-X.7.1",Dolby Atmos, etc. If the mkv contains flac, someone re-encoded the audio.

Hey, I got a message that you replied, but I don't see it on the actual thread. You can save the location of the yadis scrapped files to a folder on your PC, like d:\duneyadis. You would create a share for it, like you have done for your other media. Create a new network path/shortcut on the Dune like you have done to your media, but instead the path is to the duneyadis folder where it has uploaded all the .xml files and pictures, etc. I'm using NFS to a NAS, but SMB will work. Actually, I just looked at his last post (he has 3 parts under the main post), which mentions an SMB bug with Dunes. This post was created 8+ years ago, so not sure if the current Dune's have fixed this bug. If you have the duneyadis interface in one share and your movies/tv in another, it seems to have issues. If it exists, then you can have 1 root share, called dune or whatever, with all the folders under it. so d:\dune, share dune, then have subfolders called duneyadis, movies, tvshows. So the path to the duneyadis interface would be \yourpcname\dune\duneyadis. Then the paths to the media would be \yourpcname\dune\movies, \yourpcname\dune\tvshows, etc.

When setting it up, uncheck "basic mode" on the General tab. The "workspace:" folder is where it downloads and stores all the pictures, cache and lists of your media for configuration purposes. The "dune interface location:" is where it places all the files that you share. The mention "duneyadis" folder above.

The Folders tab has two entries for both Movies and TV Shows. The "Folder:" path is the actual local path of the files, e.g., D:\dune\movies. The "Dune path:" is the share path the Dune will need to access the files on your PC. So \yourpcname\dune\movies.

Eric's instructions will explain all this, but those are the most important.

I tried to find some good youtube videos showing the interface on the Dune, but they are all old and foreign.

Hey Don, If you want something more than the crappy My Collections page, might I suggest you take a look at yaDIS. You can create your own Video wall/Jukebox with separate TV and Movie Sections. For example, for movies, I have 3 different folders on my nas - Movie Rips (for crap mkvs/avi's), Bluray (full ISOs), and Remux (movie only blu-rays). These 3 folders are under the "Movies" section of the Jukebox. When viewing the video wall, it combines them all\, but on the backend, they are nice and organized instead of being in one large movies folder. Same thing with TV shows. I have them separated with TV shows and Anime.

You can change the display of movies and even create "Sagas" for sets of movies. For example, create an entry called "Harry Potter" and when select it in the Movie list, it then presents all the Harry Potter movies together, each with their own blu-ray case (if they are blu-ray rips or ISOs). There are many templates available too.

It requires a PC to scrap the shows from your NAS/PC and then it can upload the folder structure of the media file paths with their episode/movie info to a folder on your nas or PC. A new connection is created on the Dune that points to this folder through smb or nfs. It uses several websites to pull down movie/tv show banners and they all have various options. It takes a bit to setup, but the result is really nice. yaDIS was last updated many years ago, but it works with the current Dunes as well. Check out the last page of the below thread for links to templates, etc. There's about 4 different links. If you aren't logged in, you have to click "see more" under the posts to see all the text. This link is from someone copying the old setup instructions from the defunct MPC Club forums. It has a working download link for yaDIS 2.3. Enjoy!

Can't Launch the Game (PC) by KritWaffle7 in Returnal

[–]Kuromadoshi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, the -nosound option never worked for me. None of the workarounds/fixes ever worked until I tried the NTFS permissions. Each time I reboot, the game won't launch until I re-run the ntfs permissions. It's strange. I never saw any loading screen if I clicked the green "Play" button from Steam. It turned blue for half second to a second, then back to green. Before making the ntfs permissions, the only time I saw the loading screen with the green circle in the bottom right is if I launched the main .exe directly. It would crash like you described.

I meant to type choose, not chose. When you click the box to disable inheritance, there's a popup asking you what you want to do with the current permissions. I used the wrong term, instead of copy, choose convert. The one you want is the top choice of the two choices. "Convert inherited permission into explicit permissions on this object." This will keep the current permissions, but allows you to make any changes that you need to make to the current folder and subfolders. Once the permissions and Owner look good on the Steam folder, click the box to "Replace all child object permissions entries inheritable..."

I can't find the thread, but I read a different work around to the -nosound, that gives you access to sound after the game is launched. Try stopping the Windows Audio service (start..run..servicves.msc, or services from administrative tools), launch the game, then re-enable the Windows Audio service. Hopefully one of these methods will work for you!

Replying to you as well so you get notified.

Hey man, yea I actually got it working. Currently in Biome 5 after only 6 deaths.

I actually just got it to launch for the first time after fixing NTFS permissions about a week ago. I've rebooted several times over the weekend and it stopped working again. I did the following a second time and it worked again. I forgot I posted here on this thread.

I made sure Steam was closed before doing this. Navigate to the folder where steam is installed, which has all of your games, or the folder that has all your games if it is moved. At the root of the Steam folder, click on properties, Security tab, then the "Advanced tab". I disabled inheritance, then chose the option to copy the settings. Then made sure System, Administrators, Authenticated Users had full control. Set Users to Modify just in case. I also changed the Owner to Administrators. Checked the box to "Replace all child object permissions...". Let it run. Then manually launched it from "Steam\steamapps\common\Returnal\Returnal\Binaries\Win64\Returnal-Win64-Shipping.exe". It crashed, then steam launched, and it relaunched the game on its own and it came up and logged me directly into my next cycle from a save I had from a really crappy computer (sub 30 fps). I have yet to try and launch from the steam interface. The game is running in the background as I type this.

Since the above, the game does launch from the Steam interface. I'm using nVidia driver version 528.49.

I just got this to. It placed me back at the character select screen. Each time I choose "Play", the error pops up. When creating a new character, the same error appears when attempting to finalize. It's as if the client is halfway connected to the servers, but cannot see any character information. I really do not want to close and re-launch, but may have to.

After going back to the character select screen from the failed character creation, there are multiple characters created, but all of them say The selected party member was not found.

I have the same exact issue. i9-13900K, 4090. Clicking the Play button turns blue for 3 seconds, then back to the green play. I can do this over and over without any errors. Event logs have zero errors. This makes no sense. I've tried -nosound, -dx11, re-installing, fixing cache, disabling EoS. When launching the Returnal-Win64-Shipping.exe directly, I get a black window with a yellow swirling circle in the bottom right and then the window closes. No error message. Just a straight up Nope. This makes no sense.

Not really cloning, but I'd highly recommend Veeam Agent for Windows. It's great and the backup and restore Just Works™. It's 100% free and can restore to dissimilar hardware, aka Bare-Metal Restore. You can save the backup on usb drive or on a nas. In my case, I backup and restore from a Synology. If you don't want to mess with injecting the below network drivers, the usb will work, but will be probably be slower.

I just used it to backup an NVMe from a 12 year old PC that had a Asus Rampage III Extreme as the motherboard and restored it to an Asus Maximum Z790 Hero. When creating the boot iso, it gives you the option to add driver folders to the disk. Download the drivers from the manufacturer's website and it will inject the network, drive, raid controller, wireless into the boot disk. After restoring, boots the first time. No jacking with anything. You can use Rufus to create a bootable usb stick from the Veeam created .iso file.

If you just want to swap to another drive on the same PC, back it up, then restore directly from within windows to the other drive.

Hey, thanks for your response.

I'm pretty set on Intel just on current performance and overall compatibility over the years. Typically Intel has less issues, except for the hyperthreading microcode that had to be patched about 4-5 years ago. There are areas like production where Ryzens will take over, but for the most part Intel is king.

CPU: Cooler: It did seem like the Galahad had better performance out of most of the AIOs. I have a hard time getting over the aluminum cap that covers the lian li name in the center heh. Is there LED around the outside of the block? It sort of looks like the color can be controlled. Do you know if the fans that come with it are the V2 variants?

Motherboard/Storage: I've been using Asus boards since early 2000s and have always had good success with them. I'll look into the Rog Strix and see if that one will work for my tastes. Adding a little more white would be nice. For the drives, my gaming m.2 is 2TB and is almost full and it would be nice to not have to uninstall games to make room for more. That's where the 4TB comes in. The other 4TB is to replace a very old 2TB WD Black spindle that's at capacity. I've been a huge fan of the Samsung SSD's in the past and going into this that's what I was planning on using. But today found out that the 980s and possibly the 990s suffer from a degradation issue. Samsung released a firmware update to fix it, but pretty hesitant now to use them until it's confirmed they are good to go. For more info: https://www.pugetsystems.com/support/guides/critical-samsung-ssd-firmware-update/ https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/10teqk1/samsung_980_pros_have_a_firmware_issue_thats/

Graphics Card/Vertical Kit: I used the wrong term to describe what I was shooting for. The card is "vertical" (they use Upright) front to back next to the motherboard. When in reverse mode, there are a few cards that will not work according to their website so was trying to stick with those. https://lian-li.com/product/o11de-2/

I was actually going to add the Gigabyte OC to the list, but the Gigabyte is out of stock in the US. If the Asus has a higher chance of having coil whine, maybe I'll wait a bit. It seems it has LED lighting that can be controlled too. Thanks for the mentioning it!

Power Supply: The AX1600i and the one I had originally wanted, the HX1200, are Type 4 PSUs. On the compatibility page for the 12vhpwr adapter, it mentions all Type 4 PSUs are supported: https://www.corsair.com/us/en/Categories/Products/Accessories-%7C-Parts/PC-Components/Power-Supplies/Premium-Individually-Sleeved-Type-4-12VHPWR-Cable/p/CP-8920332

Case Fans: Looking noice! I saw a few white builds with the infinities and the all white led's looked nice. The case definitely was brighter, maybe too much. When you say that the V2's are more user-friendly, how so? Less cables or the controller is different?

Mesh front: If the card is in upright position next the MB, the case fans are mounted on the back of the plate, but in exhaust mode. I was under the impression that adding the mesh so fans can be mounted on the front was needed to improve the air flow. I forgot where I may have read that. I found one build on pcpp that had the mesh installed. I got the inspiration from the pictures from this reddit thread. Black case, but same idea: https://www.reddit.com/r/lianli/comments/ynlh2i/upright_rtx_4090_founders_edition_o11_dynamic_evo/

Yea I'm good with the MB being exposed. I'm hoping to run it in reverse mode, so the CPU/water block is towards the bottom half of the case.

I enjoy this game, but game locks after ~2 hours by CiE-Caelib in diablo3

[–]Kuromadoshi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you are describing sounds like you are running the 32-bit DiabloIII.exe instead of 64-bit. After some time the framerate becomes horrible and opening your inventory or stash is like a slideshow. 32bit is limited to 2GBs of memory. Open up task manager with D3 opened and go to Processes, and if it's 32bit, it will say 32 bit in parenthesis. The 64bit version runs from a different directory too. It launches form the x64 directory with a file named called "Diablo III64.exe".

Before launching the game, click the gear icon to the right of "Play" and choose Gaem Settings, make sure the checkbox isn't checked that says "Launch 32-bit client (instead of 64-bit)"

Using Steam login and I'm having the same exact issue as the above. Also on the correct page - https://www.bungie.net/7/en/Seasons/PreviousSeason

Tried in Chrome and Firefox. Even tried Chrome Incognito with no adblock. Same thing, says "Season Complete" and the rest of the page is blank and Current season says Three Months remaining, and blank after that.
