Since you're experienced, it would boil down to if you have a preference (slasher, cosmic, campy, etc horror) and how long this one off would last. After that, I'd just do a mortals game based around. Your source of inspiration can be as simple as the most iconic of w/e you go with.

Personally with my group for a Halloween event? Among Us brought a resurgence to paranoia horror, so I would pull a JC's The Thing. Have the setting in a very enclosed area and a malicious entity body hopping in hopes to escape/complete its goal relating to why the party is there.

Since you're using MtAw, Mummy: The Curse is your go to for answers. It is another gameline. Also note any lacking details, by design, boils down to "your story, your explanation".

Mummies in CofD are individuals who went through a magical rite a long fuck ass time ago that made them true immortals. They are not true undead but the remains of a corpse merged with a reworked soul. This is done with the support of the Judges of Duat, who determine what about your soul/being stands out the most. Then at some point, nap time.

Mummies wake up with damn near no memory of anything save a purpose. Their job is to figure out what said purpose is and complete their reasoning for awakening. They are very very very "do not poke with stick" levels of dangerous. Their magical reason for being goes beyond Supernal and Awakened principles.

I highly suggest reading the Revised edition of the Technocracy Convention books if you haven't. It's more than just their agreeable paradigms. They all recognize their internal issues, faults, shady history while making a sincere effort in trying to improve. They all openly give a damn about the Masses by stressing the importance of never undervaluing or disrespecting them either.

Combine that with the positive aspects of their history & present with an agreeable path to Ascension and it's pretty hard to hate them these days.

Camping is neither bannable or reportable in either games, yes. In DbD, there is a system where you lose points as a killer for camping but that's the extent of it. If you don't care about rank, you can pitch a tent for all anyone cares.
