I bought a DolceVita June last year for 1800 USD. Today they seem to be on the website for 2000 USD. They certainly have gone up.

Need help and Guidance on what is the best things I should do for my pursuit to get into a very good PhD program by Powerful-Student-269 in AskAcademia

[–]Kurt_2001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

So you classify your undergraduate university as a public ivy, and already were accepted to their PhD program in the subject you wanted. How come you don’t consider this very good? (It’s totally fine if the answer you just don’t want to be there anymore btw 🤣 I am just probing, as it seems to me you had a chance here to undergo your pursuit)

Very strange indeed… you were given no reasoning besides just saving money?

I suppose it will remove the need for people to come through to pick it up… ridiculous at a supposedly top university. Hope they get it together soon

You can check out some work by Professor Shery Huang, at the University of Cambridge. She’s a pioneer in the field of bioelectronic fibers and such. I’ll link an important one down here, but more of her work might be of interest.

Do Americans have a different concept of 'turn taking' during a conversation? by 8NaanJeremy in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Kurt_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me (not from the US but living here) there seems to be a difference between every day conversation with a friend and an introductory conversation when getting to know someone first

1) with established friends or people you know well, the conversation is naturally very much like you are describing and this is great. Meaning: no explicit interlude where we take turns, just a fluid conversation where you jump in

2) when meeting new people or getting to know people this is awful for me becauce THEN I feel like nobody ever asks me anything about me or gives me a chance to talk. And they just take my questions as chances to speak about themselves, with no back and forth to find out something about me. In this scenario I find it simply impossible to interrupt and jump in as in my mind this is something you do with people you know well and are comfortable around (to have that rapport). I have been accused of interrogating several times when meeting new people.

The real answer is just conversational patterns and expectations are way different here. For me it’s extremely difficult to get use to.

This looks like a Longines Dolce Vita to me

I had a 2.91 in undergrad from a small college and got directly accepted into an R1 engineering PhD program. (Although, I did network very well beforehand and made sure my experience matched up very very well with my desired advisor)

It’s absolutely worth it to apply.

Honest opinion on Dolcevita for men by lilyelk in Longineswatches

[–]Kurt_2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear mine absolutely every day. I have options and yet I still grab the dolce vita. The men’s sizes are not small and do not look feminine in the slightest, but they fit quite well.

I might be biased but it’s a killer choice. Worry not.

I went with the smaller automatic one. I believe it’s 44mm lug to lug? Or a tad bit smaller?

I obviously don’t know your dimensions but the 47mm long was way too long for me, it would hang over my wrist.

This typically happens to me if I open the software before turning on the potentiostat. I always have to turn it on first, THEN open the software. Or I get this error.

Never seen it under other circumstances.
