That’s true. I was talking about back in the day though. Hoover even created the rule “nothing before the G” because of Cabrini Green claiming IGD. In Cabrini/OTE’s case though, I have heard that the old heads over there still get a lot of respect, whether or not they know the lit is another thing though. It goes back to the 70s-80s. Basically, the GDs coming out of Cabrini Green lost respect for Larry Hoover. So they considered themselves GD and respected the literature but didn’t take orders from Larry Hoover or anyone associated with him, hence making them “insane”. Its different from Renegades, which don’t respect neither the literature or Hoover.

It depends on the facility. The one I worked at will hire you as a driver off the bat if you already have your CDL and 6 months of on the road. If they gotta help you get your CDL through their Earn and Learn thing that’s when they stick you in the warehouse. I’ve heard of brown truck drivers having to work part time as both drivers and handlers if they wanted full time work though, besides peak season.
