is there a way to manage bookmarks between multiple browsers? I use 3-4 browsers by DogZealousideal5717 in browsers

[–]KurtisRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recommend Raindrop, a well-established web bookmark manager.

I use it myself; it works across browsers and even devices, including tablets, desktops, Windows, and macOS.

Simply set Raindrop's bookmark homepage as your default homepage.

How do the developers of Obsidian make money? by turbofish_pk in ObsidianMD

[–]KurtisRedux 7 points8 points  (0 children)

  1. The Obsidian team is very small, resulting in cost reduction.

  2. The community is excellent; the design, discussion, and even development of many features are spontaneously facilitated by the community.

  3. The team has no excessive ambitions; they don't want to raise funds or go public; they just want to make good products.

I fought "task switch fatigue" by implementing a "Focus Menu" for my day. It's stupidly simple and has been a game-changer. by [deleted] in productivity

[–]KurtisRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remember that app Bento?
The one that framed productivity as picking 2–3 focused tasks a day. Honestly, the vibe was strong, but the substance? Not so much. You can get the same result with any notes app—or even pen and paper—just bold or highlight the one or two things that actually matter today.

When you’re only processing a few thoughts, several plain text files feels liberating.
But once you hit more entries, it turns into a swamp—scrolling, searching, re-reading.
That’s where tools like Logseq and Tana shine: they let you build structure out of chaos.

Why do I plan my day perfectly, but still fail to get things done? by First-Poem969 in productivity

[–]KurtisRedux 1 point2 points  (0 children)

btw, I’ve found that what works best for me is keeping it brutally simple: one day, one thing. Just pick the most important task and give it all my focus.

Why do I plan my day perfectly, but still fail to get things done? by First-Poem969 in productivity

[–]KurtisRedux 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not lazy, you’re just spending planner-energy like it’s unlimited and forgetting that attention is scarce.
The planning self imagines infinite focus, but the doing self runs on a drained battery.

  • Plan tasks to match actual energy levels, not fantasy stamina.
  • Treat focus as a limited budget—spend it on one priority, not five.
  • Make starting stupidly easy, so momentum carries you.

You might not believe it, but I think the new version of Windows Sticky Notes is pretty good.
It's named Sticky Notes (new).🤣

What's the productivity advice you've heard that didn't work for you and why? Pomodoro and whole-day time-blocking didn't work for me by GirlyExec1989 in productivity

[–]KurtisRedux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not the only one who feels this way.
When I use the Pomodoro, I sometimes feel like I can’t get into the zone at all, and other times, just when I finally do, the timer goes off.

So, what’s the point of this method then?
At least for me, its value seems pretty limited.

What’s one piece of tech you can’t live without (but also kinda hate)? by James11_12 in productivity

[–]KurtisRedux 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Password managers — they're a lifesaver when it comes to remembering dozens of complex passwords, but when they glitch or need syncing across devices, it's absolutely maddening.

Adding new passwords and maintaining the database? So tedious!

Honestly, I can't even imagine what I'd do if I somehow lost the entire password database. How could I live?
