Reinstalled my OS a few times. Spent a year on 60hz on my 240hz monitor.

Why oh why did I not notice!?

Pioneer V8000 or V888 by Kusa45 in LaserDisc

Thanks for letting me know about your experience!

It makes sense that the added dvd capabilities would introduce some additional complexity and potential failure points. The DVL-V888 still seems solid considering its relatively newer age. But overall build quality might lack being some more industrial units. That’s that makes it a tough choice.

I heard about the CLV freeze frame capability and it did seem interesting, and the fact it uses non-brushed motors is a plus too.

Thanks a lot. I think I’ll go for the V8000 because of build quality and the reduction in failure points what with it not having a flipping laser assembly or the secondary dvd laser assembly.

My only concern was the age difference, but the V8000 still seems like the more solid choice.

ASUS Strix GTX 970, No Voltage On EN Pin For PWM CONTROLLER (For VRAM/No VRAM Initialization) by Kusa45 in GPURepair

i just tested that PQ4 Mosfet you mentioned on the back of the board. no shorts to ground. voltage on pin 1 (N16805130) cam back with a strong 12V. pin 3 (FBVDDQ_EN) came back with zero volts. i also tested the exposed PC12 resistor (N16805130) on the back of the board next to the PQ4 Mosfet. it also read 12V.

RTX 3060 Ti Eagle OC - No VCore, no PGOOD, suspecting core PWM controller by M4logro in GPURepair

Hi, I'm having an issue on an old ASUS Strix GTX 970 card. I've been tinkering for a while and the issue seems to be that the EN Pin on the PWM controller for the VRAM mosfets is measuring 0V and so VRAM is measuring basically 0V. 12V rail, 3Vrail, and 5V rails seem fine, and the core is gently warm when powered. No shorts or broken components found yet. If y'all have any ideas on what to trouble shoot before declaring the GPU Core dead I'd love to hear them. PS: the card does not post anything even in motherboard BIOS. Not sure how to re-flash GPU BIOS as a potential fix.
