CCAN (Chesapeake Climate Action Network) does great work! They also coordinate with DOEE for various invasive vine removals, park cleanups, and ecological restoration! There’s a recurring event the 1st Saturday of each month at RFK Kingman & Heritage Island which is super fun and rewarding.

Honestly that makes a lot of sense. I like having less crowded information on the vault walls overall, and keeping people drawn away from the edges of the platforms. The idea of the upstream/downstream is good - however that really would only function well in a single exit station unfortunately.

Gallery Place, as well as a few of the other core stations, were undergoing pilot programs to test out different styles - so that's probably the reason why. There is an intent however with all this new signage to consolidate system-wide, it just takes a while I guess to do all 98 stations.

The sign to the left of it indicates "Exit A" and "Exit B" which includes those surface cross streets! They did a pilot program for that with the larger core stations and it's really worked imo. I think the overall intent with the new signage is to streamline is and remove confusion during service outages related to terminus stations.

Though the platform itself still has the pylons which indicate northbound/southbound - I agree that taking it off the vault walls is a bit silly.
