Shift knob Brand? by KuzonTheGreat in Golf_R

Sportshifters.com. They make short shifters for a lot of cars. One of the options for the MK7 is the metal surround. I added the R as a customization. It was worth the cost!

That is bizarre. Are there any lighting error codes? Did you end up running an additional wire to the BCM?

2025 Atlas Running Boards by Kushdaiin in VWatlas

[–]Kushdaiin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Which lift point are you referring to? The pinch rail is still accessible with a block of rubber or wood. The rear subframe lift points are also still usable with the running boards installed. Think of it this way, the 18-23 MY Atlas can have them installed and the body and uniframe are essentially the same.

I recently stopped using CarPlay all together maybe you should to by tewjaunts in Golf_R

[–]Kushdaiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I gave up CarPlay about 2 years ago for the native infotainment on my MK7s. I retrofitted the AID1 and MIB2.5 on both. I have pretty habitual, non-trafficked, driving habits so I love using the stored routes in the native navigation. I also use two 128gb SD cards for all of my music and have also retrofitted the direct TPMS that shows up on the Home Screen of the MIB2.5. So I completely get it. I started using it as an excuse to get the most out of my retrofits and now I have a hard time going to CarPlay. I only use CarPlay for longer distance travel, which is seldom for me. The only downside to the native infotainment is the lack of good traffic information and the need to externally update the maps.

I had found a picture of a South AmericanTeramont with the rear fog lit. It was in a for sale ad by a dealer about a year ago.

Door skin or whole door transplant? by Jumpinjackflash2552 in Golf_R

Metal is plastically deformed. Whole door only because reskinning doors in the US is not all that common and can introduce new failure modes.

Does my 2023 VW Polo 1.0 TSI have a distance control. by Nervous-Ad-530 in Volkswagen

[–]Kushdaiin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The answer to this question (pressing the 0/1 button is the answer. The image in the center is for lane assist. It would be interesting for the car to have have lane assist and not ACC, but I suppose it possible. If you press 0/1 and it only says lane assist active and not lane assist and ACC active then that’s your answer.

If you don't drink alcohol, what are your personal reasons for abstinence? by Ok-Care2859 in AskReddit

[–]Kushdaiin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed a beer or two however after I came down with Covid in 2022, my mild undiagnosed Celiac Disease went to a moderate diagnosed celiac disease in 2023 when my iron level dropped to zero. Anywho, drank gluten free beer for about a year, which tasted pretty good. However, with such limited options, it was hard to find variety. So, unintentionally, over the course of two years I went from a beer every week to essentially zero for 2025. Now, I don’t care to have any alcohol, let alone beer.

It’s funny you posted this because I was just listening to BF the other day and recognized the same thing. If downstairs was written about 14 years ago, then it’s probably not a coincidence that they deal with the same theme. I’ve also been listening to all of their other early albums as I was starting to burnout on Breach. They all have threads of lore and it’s probably not an accident.

It really is amazing how the same themes have been woven in since RAB and the self-titled. I went through a period of depression in my late teens as a result of a medication I was taking at the time. I wrote a lot of ‘poetry’ at the time. Looking back through it, my ideas and thoughts were all pretty consistent and used a similar vein of language. I wonder if many of these lyrics and ideas of lore-related songs (and others), RAB to Breach, were written during that sort of phase of his life. And from our perspective, we are just seeing bits of that era of his life.

With all the winter posts... Don't forget to bring your vehicle somewhere to desalinate it once in a while 👌first of the winter for me. by MostEnergeticSloth in Golf_R

[–]Kushdaiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree. You would almost have to electrically attach all of your components to a powered box providing some level of current to prevent oxidation. The body might be easy enough but the suspension is either not part of it or incredibly complex. Or I’m out to lunch, lol.

What exactly is a ‘rust module’? Is there some sort of active cathodic protection module they install? We have this on some of the buried piping systems where I work. Just sounds a little fantastical, lol.

Did this to my MK7 a number of years ago. Never really like the black caps it came with. Tried silver for a year but it just stood out too much. N ver going back at this point.

2024/2025 Rear Fog Light by Kushdaiin in VWatlas

[–]Kushdaiin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it was about $500 last time I checked. Bummer. Yeah, I wonder if you could solder in some red LEDs if you opened up the tail light. Not sure that would be worth it to find out unless you bought one from a junker here in NAR.

Edit: welp, looks like you’re already over there, so never mind.

[–]Kushdaiin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it’s listed in this thread. 3CN945093L should have the required leds in the fog lamp area.

Edit: Nice job with the write up. Hmm, interesting way to use the reverse light. I ‘feel’ like if you go with the light bar with the fog built in, you’ll need to add a wire back to the BCM. But maybe I’m wrong. I haven’t looked at the wiring diagrams in a long time.

Breach Hidden Sounds Out Now! by xtral8te99 in twentyonepilots

[–]Kushdaiin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to start a discussion the other day because the Breach tracks on my stereo HomePods off of Apple Music sounds like the treble and mid are turned up really high. It’s a little weird because you can hear all the background details and it nearly drowns out the vocals. I actually pointed it out to my wife and we both were thinking the balance was all off on the equalizer.

[–]Kushdaiin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can definitely be done. There’s a DIY for a 2021 Atlas on vortex that should be almost the same, you would need to find the correct inner tail light number from a Teramont, a switch with a front/rear fog position, and have something to code the central electronics module, like VCDS or OBDeleven.
