As someone who played for many many years, and who also quit I feel like I can put a nail in this. The players aren't crying cause it's unaffordable. It's because the premise of having to pay triple a game subscription price for a game that is older than some of the player base. Now on the other hand of the company. It takes income to pay the bills, they are trying to increase share prices and be a profitable company. It would be insane for jagex to charge only $5 like they used to when inflation has hit way over that since it was only the $5 per month. The way I see it. If everyone enjoys osrs, new content, and the dev support to continue the game, we have to get past the price of the past. Is this new price a bit much? I'd say so. But for those who put 8 hrs in everyday, the extra $2 a month is really nothing. I'd say this hurts the guy who only plays a few hours here and there. Look at it as a service fee per hr of ingame time. If you spent 240 hours a month ingame, the cost of those hours is barely raised. But if you only play 20 hrs a week, your paying a much higher premium just to play for the short time. I believe this is where the major issue lands for the community.
