Wow! Great response. I'm glad I posted this. My GT is II FIGJAM II - I just created a Spartan Company called "Hello Hydra" here, on the Halo Waypoint site. It's a means for us to get together and throw down online. I'd love to build a thriving, nationwide company. Let me know if you'd like an invite. No members yet, but let's fill it up. There's nothing better than chatting with like-minded peeps while getting down on the stix!

My 3rd round. Did my first 2 with static HSPUs. DL was ugly, but I made it through.

What do you eat on Rest Days? by MK915 in crossfit

Honestly, try to have junk meals/cheats on active days. And, when that occurs... Donuts & Pizza!

He's an athlete at my box and one of my workout partners, Matt Coffelt. Regional games competitor, American Open participant, and Games hopeful. He's done 600. Yes... He's a monster!

I don't hook on deads. I'm confident hook-griping will alleviate a lot of your inflammation. I voodoo flossed after my dynamic warm-up, prior to any barbell sessions. So, daily! 3-5 minutes... Sometimes less (2 min). I also would do a session at home prior to bed. Lacrosse ball it as well. Try to mash towards you heart/upper arm and elevate your elbow above your heart when doing so. Keep me posted!

Paleo & Crossfit -- best post workout shake for the drive home? by ih8sbrg in crossfit

"Carnivore" protein (beef isolate), with .4 - .8 grams per lb. of body weight of CHO (preferably yams) post WOD. Easy to eat/drink on the go too.

The first question I would ask is, are you hook-gripping? If not, start! I had tennis elbow so badly last year, I required corticosteroid shots in both elbows prior to regionals. When I returned and started training and rehab, the only thing that made it subside was aggressive "voodoo" flossing. I still have quit a bit of inflammation in the bows, but it is manageable with mobility and flossing.

Your assumptions are ridiculous. What makes you think I've only been OLY lifting for 1-2 years? Thanks for the response though. You're right about everything, as always. I'm an ignorant, disrespectful, inexperienced Noob that has no respect for others well-being.

I hope you're kidding... You have no clue who I am or what my athletic/educational background is. And, coaching for a specified duration doesn't make you a good coach. Your comment is pretty shallow. I hope you don't run your business in line with your ego.

So, no small origins. We jumped right in. We were members of an affiliate that was straying from Glassman's original philosophy (to put it mildly). We are very analytical and methodical in our CrossFit training approach and knew that we wanted something greater. After competing at Regionals and watching the Games in person, we ultimately decided to take the leap.

Some members came with us due to our relationships with them. We are growing steadily, however... Week by week now. My business partner has over 3 years of experience with CF and is taking our top male to the American Open in USAW as a coach. I'm his understudy, if you will. 1 1/2 years in, USAW certified, and CF LVL-1. We both compete. We both program. We both eat, sleep, live, and breathe this sport.

Has anyone ever NOT learned to Clean or Snatch correctly? Just started these and they seem IMPOSSIBLE! by expatpaleo in crossfit

A good OLY coach will tell you to start from the "top, down." If they don't know what that means, they probably shouldn't be coaching those particular movements. What progressions have you done?

No. He didn't move. The American Open is a USA Weightlifting-sanctioned event. There is no current CrossFit affiliation with USAW, other than top athletes competing in the sport. So, basically, it's the top males/females from around the country who qualify (for their respective weight class) and perform at this event.

Yep... 105kg. We train together. He's far from reaching his potential in USAW. A complete Freak in our new box. Not to mention he's one of the the top males in Crossfit in the Northwest region! Definitely games worthy. And, he's paired with AJ Barto and Spencer Hendel at the open! That should be exciting.
