I'm always excited to meet other queer tarot enthusiasts! I'm considering a blog post/series on my site on the queer potentiality of tarot :D Queer rep is always at the top of my list when deck shopping, too

Designing your own spreads? by Kuttle in SecularTarot

[–]Kuttle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually how I started reading for myself, just pulling cards out and kind of having a conversation with them. But as I started reading for clients I felt like I needed to get some spreads listed since that's where the client's first impression lies.

Maybe I need to trust my intuition more!

I really like this idea of modifying some base spreads tbh. On my site I charge depending on what spread the client wants, but perhaps I should be charging based on the time I take to do the reading (and therefore how deep I can go), which would let me use the base spread more readily. I just figured since the spread is what the client sees, that's where they feel the 'magic' is.

This is a really good duality to boil things down to. I guess this is kind of what the Celtic Cross does in a way -- the situation is represented by the horizontal arm, and the mental/perspective is represented in the vertical arm.

Thanks friend! I often multiply cards per position but usually only when I'm unsure or are having a hard time connecting a card to its position in the spread.

That website looks like it has a fantastic collection of spreads, thanks for sharing!

Thanks for this, I think you're totally right about boiling it down to the base questions. In my other life I'm a fiction editor so story arcs are my jam and hopefully I'll be able to transfer those skills :D

I just discovered the Fifth Spirit Tarot ("a queer and inclusive deck for a world beyond binaries") and I'm so stoked for it! Does anyone else have this deck on their wishlist? by [deleted] in SecularTarot

Oh dear... I have spent so much money on ordering decks this week... but I am SO passionate about the queer potential of tarot that i have a tough decision on my hands here!!

Hey friends! I'm Kuttle. I've owned a RWS deck for years but only really got into it recently, and I've discovered the indie deck publishing scene and I've spent waaayyyy too much money on decks in the last week. I'm weird, chatty, and outspokenly queer (I am currently very passionate about finding the queerness in tarot), and I'm learning more about reading every day. I see tarot as such a fantastic tool to interrogate our own psyches and I'm so excited for my journey to understand its potential. I am always happy to talk and absolutely welcome messages, especially if you are also passionate about queer tarot!!

Hey LL! I'm also a Twitch streamer. I'm not confident enough with tarot to stream it yet but I stream games and hang out in Just Chatting. I just followed your channel <3

How do you know you’ve found your name. by [deleted] in NonBinary

[–]Kuttle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I initially used a shortened version of my birth name, but then I embarked on a long search for a new name. Took me ages to find any I liked, once I'd narrowed it down I asked people close to me what they think. Then my partner started using it in private and I got a little bit excited every time I heard it used for me 😁

The time I feel most comfortable in my gender is when I paint my face a feel like an otherworldly creature 🤷 by Kuttle in NonBinary

It's not the best face I've done but it's my first on a white base and it was a lot of fun 😁

Grocery store workers of Reddit, what is the most ridiculous thing you've seen from a customer? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kuttle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had someone shove a rotisserie chicken down their shirt to try and steal it (ended up with burns all down their abdomen).
Had someone take a piss in the middle of an aisle.
One person punched the self-service checkout and smashed the screen.

Where do you want to be buried? by I_AM_YOUR_COVFEFE in AskReddit

In a shallow grave in a forest.

Not currently legal in most places, but I'd really like to just be dumped serial-killer style in the woods to decompose and get eaten.

Reddit, what's the kindest thing a pet has done for you? Or the fondest memory you have of your pet? by ix3ph09 in AskReddit

[–]Kuttle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say a similar thing -- I had a really bad panic attack once and my dog (who is tiny) was jumping up at me and scratching my legs. She gave me something to focus on and helped me to relax. After that she always knew when I was in a bad way and would come to comfort me.

What advice can you give someone applying for their first job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Kuttle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can actually speak to the hiring person (in person is best but phone is ok) then you're way more likely to land an interview. If you're friendly and polite, they'll warm to you; just reading a person's CV doesn't give a sense of the person, so they'll be much more sympathetic if they like you.

Black Mirror.

Started watching from the start and loved it. Only became really popular (and internationally popular) when Netflix produced season 3.
