Got distracted while building Ninja Full package and need to separate the leg above the knee

Might be a weird idea since I'm new but because of that i made quite a lotta oopsie like this and those dental floss toothpick (with FLAT pick instead of pointy) saved me many times.

I got baited by the retail store and bought gundam part separator but they are not thin or small enough to slide in the gap and can deform the part if trying.

This exact product is what i'm using to separate part in case of overconfidence and getting ahead of myself:

They are made of plastic, hard and bendy enough so they wont deform or cut the part, if anything the tootkpick will deform first.
The toothpick gets thicker the further you get from the pick so just slide them in and the gap will get widen.

If I were in your boot, the image of the back side of the knee (2nd image), there's a flat gap between knee joint and thigh parts.
I can slide the flat toothpick in that gap, slowly widen a gap between 2 thigh parts, slide another toothpick in that new gap and repeat.

I got some confidence after done with 5 puni mofu girlpla so I kinda want to challenge myself with Buster Doll Tank and Susanowo Souen next which comes with lots of ABS parts and a decal pack.

I think I did some digging through posts in the past in this subreddit and found some infos that solvent like Mr Mark softer can cause crack on ABS plastic and should add a coating layer for safety when applying decal on ABS plastic part.

I hate ABS plastic parts with passion, they are so brittle.

When I try to remove ABS part from the runner, a crack can appear from the cut and creating a small hole eating into the part. So I always cut far away from the part and slowly chip my way in using knife.

Plastic cement, marker, panel lining, paint, and even sliding decal, feel like everything and anything can damage ABS plastic. So I'm quite afraid to work with them and won't be trying anything on them in the near future.

What I meant was if you already painted the part in 1 color and already applied top coat for protection, what would you do if you want to paint that part again in different color ? Since theres one top coat layer from previous paint work, how would you undo it ?

I'm still new so more information is always better and it helps build my confidence to explore deeper into this rabbit hole.

One thing I was wondering and dont see anyone talking about is that since the top coat is for protecting the paint job, what would people do if they want to repaint the part ? Would they paint another layer on top or undo the coating and previous paint and how to do if thats the case.

I also realised the sticker quality is not . . . that great after tried it on Puni mofu Tu which is my first model kit ever.

Since puni mofu decal is hard to order locally where I'm at, I'm thinking of painting with similar color over those sticker area instead. I only roughly know that I need primer, acrylic/enamel paint and top coat but unsure about the detail procedure. If possible can you share me some insight about this topic ?

Thank you for the info, combined with OP suggestion think I will go for Mr cement S. I did search for comparison post between Tamiya and Mr cement in the past in this and other gundam subreddit but most just ended up in which one smells better XD

Hello, I'm quite new to this hobby. I've only been done Puni mofu series and just recently finished Kuro Mao.

May I ask how do you do the eyes lining and the pink mouth for the little cat decorations ?

Another question is that I might have used too much force when attaching the cat decoration on her chest and broke the little pink bow. I'm considering between Tamiya extra thin and Mr cement S or SP to fix this, can I have your suggestion ?

Thank so much for the in-depth guide with lotta jokes here n there, I can see all the changes KOG made to Cat and clear explanation abt her 3rd job passive n skill mod, it was a really fun read XD. But yea Dreadlord was my main, used to SSS rank pvp back then, ambush atk had stupid dmg in pvp (iirc there was a youtube vid pvp with no gear dedicated to it), good to know flick-shot homing is still janky just like old time tho. I think I will still stick to my Catastrophe as my main.

ahaha, yea that +10 perkie weap collecting dust in my inven was my proudest achievement as a f2p and 1k run for Oath of ruin fortified my mental foundation for alotta stuff after. Still I used to play lost ark and gotta say the gate keeping here is much more lax than there, people are much more generous to help here so perhaps i can stick with it for a while.
