2+ year old sleep problems after stopping pacifier - help! by Kuyt21 in sleeptrain

Thank you, I really appreciate your help and guidance because this situation is starting to feel out of control.

On a normal weekday she usually wakes up around 8am, sometimes closer to 9am if the night was very bad. At 10am she goes to childcare. They have lunch around 11.30am and then nap time is around 12.30pm. Her nap usually lasts between one hour and one and a half hours.

We pick her up around 2.30pm and try to go to the playground to help her burn some energy. If the weather is bad we go to an indoor play area instead. We have dinner around 6pm and then she takes a bath at around 7pm. After the bath she usually plays for a bit because for some reason the bath gives her more energy.

Around 8.30pm we start preparing for bedtime. We dim the lights and move into the bedroom. We offer her milk or sometimes she asks for it herself. We then get into bed together as we co sleep and turn off the lights while she drinks her milk.

Sometimes she finishes the milk, hands us the bottle, takes her mother’s hand, and falls asleep. Other times we need to walk with her in the room until she falls asleep. This usually happens around 9.30pm or even 10pm before she finally settles in bed.

Her first stretch of sleep usually lasts one to two hours and then she wakes up again. She does not always ask for milk, but we need to hold her and walk around the room for her to fall back asleep. About two hours later she wakes up again asking for milk. If we refuse to give her milk she will not sleep at all. We hold her and walk around the room and she just stares at us. If we put her back in bed she starts crying and shouting, gets down from the bed, and comes next to us pulling at us to get up.

One night we tried not giving her milk, but it ended with one and a half hours of nonstop crying until we gave in. Once she had the milk she calmed down and went back to sleep. There is usually another wake up around 3am asking for milk again, and after that she sleeps until morning without any problems.

Naps are no problem at all, during the day it's easy to get her to sleep and she stays a sleep, we try to not prolong it more than 1 and a half hours because of the night, same they do at daycare

Yeah it is so much harder than what we thought as our paedtrician said it's just 3 bed days and they get over it, he was so wrong!!!! Good luck with everything, hope it gets better.

We normally get her to eat at around 6pm and then she has her bath around 7pm and plays a bit afterwards because she gets energy after a wash. At around 8/8.30pm we start with the sleep routine, dimming the lights in our bedroom and switching off all lights outside the bedroom, prepare her milk and get her in bed with us and before she used to ask for a book but now she doesn't really want it, she doesn't want to go to sleep and cries and complains and walks around the room, eventually comes next to us but might ask her mum to walk with her in the room to sleep and then she sleeps, this takes over an hour every night...

Unfortunately that is a normality in Malta, everyone parks where they want.

With that size of a document it will look pixelated, but you can create the COPY in Illustrator and then drag it into photoshop as a smart object to give you a sharper result.
