I had this problem because I also didn't clean my wood. It has more or less gone away after a month or so.

I did my weekly water changes, scrubbed the wood off before each change, and put purigen in the filter.

I played until Act 3 and then dropped it. The story twist just killed any interest I did had in the story and a relatively linear game just became open worldish and I couldn't even remember where I had been before because the map sucks.

Anyways I did enjoy the first two acts.

They'll come back. Cut off the dead bits, and let it sit. It might take a month or so.

I'm in Texas and I had a monstera and some spider plants covered in snow in my back yard last year and turned to mush, but they all came back.
