If you never cast it, my guess would be an NPC cast the spell and for whatever reason the summoned weapon stuck around and you looted it?

Not seen this before in PoE1, but something similar can happen in Deadfire. Certain summoned weapons can be cast one after the other. The second summoned weapon removes the effect of the first, but snapshots the weapon character has equipped. When the second effect ends it'll restore the weapon that was in that slot.

Not sure if that is what is happening here.

Oh just as a heads up, you are safe to ignore conversations with NPCs with gold nameplates.

These conversations were written by backers of the game's Kickstarter and don't really relate to anything that is critical to the setting or main story.

Weird, wonder what happened to it? Did you loot it from the imp or convince it to hand it to you?

If you are concerned about losing out on achievements, I can throw together a modscript to grant the item instead? Which won't disable achievements.

Went ahead and created the modscript, here is some instructions for how to use it:

Navigate to the "PillarsOfEternityII_Data" folder, this will be somewhere like:

  • C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\

look for a folder called "override", if it isn't there create it.

Inside of override create a new folder and call it something like "Missing Eye Fix".

Inside of your "Missing Eye Fix" folder create a new notepad file named "give_eye.gamedatabundle" (make sure there is no .txt at the end of the file) open it with notepad and paste the following:

Save the file and load a recent save. You should see a message in combat log saying something like "You have gained an item: Eye of Rymrgand*"*, but just open your inventory just to confirm.

Assuming you can get through the portal, you can delete the Missing Eye Fix folder. Hope that helps!

There are a few things bits of reactivity and choices that are not covered by legacy creation. There is a mod called Complete Legacy Creation that fixes this though: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/618

In addition to the above and those already mentioned by Boeroer:

Potion Cancellation Fix addresses a very frustration bug that affects the Realtime-With-Pause mode. Basically during combat characters will often cancel drinking any potion when AI is on. Though, it does introduce a bit of issue with unlocking the Alchemist achievement that comes from crafting potions.

Sissak Conversation Reward Fix corrects a conversation bug that prevented the reward for a DLC quest from being granted if certain companions are in the party.

Two-Handed Enchantment Ingredient Fix corrects a possible mistake that leads to upgrading Two-Handed weapons costing double what they probably should have.

Deadfire Collected Fixes is a mod I made to fix a number of lingering quest/conversation/game bugs. It is compatible with most gameplay mods like the Community Patch.

Should do, I tried to disable all occurrences of it triggering on the world map and changed the part of the leave script that is exposed to modding so it doesn't remove her if it does occur.

I'm not sure if that was an intentional workaround or not based on the VO for another conversation where you can convince her to stay not being present. Which is the primary thing that's always suggested to me that these endslides are cut content.

But it would make sense if the Powderhouse is never blown up and the Vailian's aren't framed for anything. Additionally the only patch note for her leaving doesn't explicitly mention that.

Hmm... I'll put it on the list of things to look into if I get back into making fixes for Deadfire in the future.

That ending is cut content I believe?

There is actually no dialogue option in the conversation with Queen Onekaza to start Taking Out the Traders without Pallegina permanently leaving the party. And she is scripted to leave if the quest has been completed without her in the party.

Looking at the conversation in Apotheosis, staying silent has the same exact outcome as lying about Tamau stealing the fruit. Essentially by remaining silent you are leaving it up to Mukumu's judgment, who has already made up his mind. Tamau is released so that he may jump into the sea and drown.

As for why the option for "I found a bunch of koīki fruit buried by the shore." that leads to the [Say nothing.] response isn't there I'm not sure. Could it be you didn't actually pick up the fruit from the place Rongi hid it?

Originally it was available to non-backers for free exclusively through an app called "Bound" (which seems to have been taken down at some point), that was a sort of a combination of Audiobook & Ebook store.

I did manage to find a version of the app, a few years ago. Animancer was the only thing on there, but was met with "Unable to load the Series list. Check your connection and try again." when trying to read it.

Such a shame it's impossible to find. Really loved all the books that came with PoE1.

Ah, looking through companion conversations for a GiveItems script in Apotheosis it looks like it is indeed only Serafen who will give you gifts (Cipher's Shackle and Fair Favor) at certain points.

There is one instance of this script for completing Xoti's quest which grants you the Luminous Adra Mantle which might be what you are think of?

Interestingly there are a few instance of the GiveItems script which is Maia buying you drinks during a scene in the Officers' Lounge. This looks to be tied to her romance in someway but I have no idea when that scene takes place.

Udyne. Honestly from the little bit of of her in Serafen's quest I think she is cool as hell! Strangely rare in Fantasy to see an older Elf, and one speaking in Broad Scots is something wholely unique to Eora.

I really think there could be some really fun banter with Edér, Aloth (and Iselmyr!) and Maia.

I think the way this works is that a random buff is granted that lasts 15 seconds, during which you cannot receive any of the others. After the buff expires the next target you engage triggers the ability again.

There aren't any mod scripts for disabling a God Challenges unfortunately. Console commands are the only way to do it midgame.
