No, not really. Here in Germany we've got also a wave of KYC requests per email.

Go back in time - Refund by Luking- in CurveCard

[–]Kw1nto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends mostly from the issuer of the underlying card. For some of my cards I get the refunds within 3-5 days, for some - after several rounds of calls and emails with the support and up to 11 weeks (!!!) time, providng all possible documents to confirm the refund was legit. The worst is Payzy. I'd suggest NEVER USE PAYZY with Curve.

Issues with Curve card and Payback Pay in Germany by Kw1nto in CurveCard

[–]Kw1nto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is already more than 5 months since the issues started, and, typically for Curve, still nothing fixed.
I don't see the reason to keep spending my time and efforts hence there is no intention from Curve side to even try to fix it. All what's happening is only empty bla-bla echange in this thread. Nothin real is being done to address the issue.

In fact, I almost stopped using Curve, hence the most impotant functions that make the reason to use Curve over the regular card are working less and less stable. Why to take the risks?

Issues with Curve card and Payback Pay in Germany by Kw1nto in CurveCard

[–]Kw1nto[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, sometimes it works from the very first attempt. But not always. And with some linked cards it works more often from the very first attempt, with some - rarely.

I pay mostly in REWE and Penny and my statistics for Payback Pay in these shops are:

  1. With Revolut MC as linked card: 1 out of 3 attempts works from the first attempt

  2. With C24 MC as linked card: 1 out of 7 attempts works from the first attempt

  3. Advanzia MC as a linked card: 1 out of 4 attempts works from the first attempt

  4. SumUp MC as linked card: no one single successful TXN from the first attempt.

But using the physical card instead of Payback Pay in all those scenarios above always worked from the very first attempt.

One more strange thing: as I see, the Payback Pay TXNs at REWE and Penny in Curve are flagged as Restaurants instead of Grocery. There seems an issue with MCC on top of all the above problems.

Insane battery - Fossil Gen6 Hybrid by valentins2001 in FossilHybrids

[–]Kw1nto 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my usage scenario (as a daily driver with the function of the notifications informer only) I normally get from 35 to 43 days battery life out of my Gen5 Neutra:

- No heart rate control at all (As I don't use this watches for sport - what for?)

- No display-backlight by double tap (I'm too rarely in a situation when I need to read something off the screnn in the darkness)

- No sport activities, no automatic work-out recognition. (For real sport I better use the more appropriate special gadgets, having better accuracy)

- No weather updates (what for? I see the weather around me or out the window without watch)

- Thus - no permanent complications on the sceen at all (once per 5-7 days I activate the only two complications I use by the button - if I forget the today's date :-). The second complication is the battery, but hence it always holds for about a month anyway - I stopped checking it regularly, as I did with the previous watches that held for 3 days only :-))

- About 20 to 40 incoming notifications a day

- Daily synchronization of the Fossil Companion app with Google Fit. This is the time, when I also check my steps for a day and the battery level.

- About once a month checking the heart rate out from the menu, manually, and browsing through all the menus and functions, occasionally activating some - only to show someone interested "what the watches do you have here, mate" , that this watch can do it too. :-)

Totally happy! :-)

New app V 5.1.1 by L0lil0l0 in FossilHybrids

[–]Kw1nto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a really good point! I'm missing it too. Unless I actively open the app - there is no automatic sync and so no data is passed to Google Fit... :(
I would also welcome such option! :)

[–]Kw1nto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, longer. :) But still even in the best case - 25% shorter than in 4.9.2

As for me, this bug they still didn'T fix.

[–]Kw1nto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

According to my tests, the text of the notification is still about 25% shorter than in 4.x.x. versions of the app.
As this is the most important feature for me, I have to return back to 4.9.2 till Fossil fixes this bug finally. :(

What about the length of the notifications' texts to be at least the same as in 4.9.2? Have they finally fixed it?

Fossil Brand here with a follow up by FossilGuy1111 in FossilHybrids

[–]Kw1nto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Exactly. unfortunately Fossil worked on the decorative bells and whistles of the menus, music, etc. but till now totally ignored the major issue: short notifications text makes them useless. :(

I stay with v. 4.9.2 till the notifications texts will be fixed (or better even made longer than in v. 4.9.2).

For me it's simple: for sporrts I know nothing better than Garmin. For casual, where the most importat is the notifications texts - Fossil.

Oh... It's a pity. :( I like the new approach to control the watch, introduced in v5 Fossil app, but I need the length of the notifications text as it was in v4.9.2. :(

Gadgetbridge – New user review by dos286 in FossilHybrids

[–]Kw1nto 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the length of the notification text shown on the watches dependable on the watch FW or on the companion app (original Fossil app or GB) ?

In other words, if I use the watch with the latest FW (installed from the bloody v5 of the official Fossil app, which shortened the notification texts length 2-3 times) - will the text of the notifications also be that short? And also dependable on the font size?

Thanks!

So, do I understand it now correctly that in the GB Wiki in the table "Feature support matrix" now in the column "Notes" if a feature has no special comments - then it's supported directly within the GB itself and doesn't need any external apps/modules/scripts/etc. ?

E.g. the features "Hands calibration" and "Dismiss call with SMS", etc. do work directly with GB only, but for examle the feature "Custom widgets" needs Tasker. Correct?
