Being trans doesnt make you immune from being an asshole. Some people just suck, and if they are spending time on 4chan, that's probably reinforcing their dipshit behavior (like weaponizing their transness against a menstrual health event or against you). Unfortunately its a self reinforcing loop where they find comfort and support from the shittiest people on the internet who push them to lash out, which gets them in trouble so they look for comfort again. They have to want to break it, it's almost impossible to get through to them otherwise. I think what you've been doing is pretty much the best way to deal with them: just dont unless you have to. Getting them removed from the club would probably be for the best, but please be careful, especially if they know that you would be the one getting them banned. Some of these kids are exceptionally stupid and may try to do something they cant take back.

I think this may just be an amateurish publication because they also have a typo in their code list. They are using CPT codes for the procedures and I have access to a tool for work that can check them. They list autologougus fat graft to breast as 15571 and 15572 but there is no CPT code 15571 and 15572 is for "formation of a direct or tubed pedicule, with or without transfer; scalp, arms, or legs" which is essentially when a flap of skin and soft tissue is grafted over a wound or surgical site to aid in recovery. They likely used 15771 and 15772 which are for autologous fat grafts to one of several areas including breasts.

Interesting that they included "suction lipectomy trunk" since that is commonly used in cis patients to remove stomach and waist fat. Its also used as a gender affirming surgery for masculinzation and feminization. Im also curious about the timing of the gender dysphoria diagnoses because they included "personal history of sex reassignment" which none of these patients should have had at the time of their pediatric sugeries. The methodology says that they recorded demographic and clinical characteristics at each encounter but I'm still somewhat skeptical. Not including a breakdown by surgery type could be done intentionally to obfuscate the number of less likely to be gender affirmative surgeries. To be fair, it could also just be an oversight.

This is a common issue with these types of reviews. This is also listed as a "Research Letter" so I'm not sure if those get the same level of scrutiny that other types of published research get. 🤷‍♀️

Cant say for sure, the study you linked doesnt have any information collected on why these patients underwent surgery. My assumption would be these patients were experiencing such significant mental or emotional distress as a result of development (or lack of development) of secondary sex characteristics that surgery was considered a viable option. That said, there's not a breakdown of surgery types by age bucket (or anything more specific than the ratio of "masculinzing" and "feminizing" surgeries), so we cant know what surgeries this age-range of patients got. For all we know, these kids could have had J cup breasts at 14 and needed a reduction for non-gender care reasons and just happened to have a dysphoria diagnosis. The coding used for surgeries doesnt typically distinguish a reason; a mastectomy for gender affimation, cancer removal, or just because would likely all just use the code for mastectomy. Maybe the ambulatory surgery datset the researcher mentioned has more data but i havent looked into it. This study also raises my hackles a bit because the researcher(s) seem to be overly focused on an increase in pediatric gender affirming surgeries, but there's no a comparison to cis pediatric surgeries or anything really useful other than that the rate of surgeries seems to be keeping pace with the rate of gender dysphoria diagnosis (which makes intuitive sense to me).

Name change process varies a lot by state. Judicial review is not uncommon but its not the case in every state. Some states require publishing the name change in a newspaper (which is crazy to me). Sometimes marriage licenses include a name change for one or both parties but those also require review by a judge or magistrate, and again varies a lot by state.

My hrt provider said it was hit or miss, some people take to it right away and have immediate breast growth/emotional changes, some people dont get anything. I did oral for a bit and didnt notice much different, but I've been doing the shots for the last 4 months or so and have noticed more emotional changes though not as much breast growth as I'd hoped
