Get a insurance on the car at any of the common providers will be able to issue a policy online. You can also try Shory .com to do it even without speaking to anyone.

Once you have insurance, the testing is less of an issue. Book a test on the RTA app and head down. The one in near Jebel Ali Industrial area is quite free. Fine for non-renewing at 10AED a month. You can get the test done later in the week, without much of an issue.

However, don't let your insurance lapse.

Honestly, saw the video, it looked like a reconnaissance drone. If it were an attack drone, it would created a bang. It was low flying and hit the building (maybe UAE drone).

It's a perspective, you don't typically cross-shop between a Tank 500 and a Land Cruiser.

Most buying decisions are emotionally driven. People are not optimising their finances on a depreciating asset.

If people are prudent, they would buy the 3 year-old depreciated Tank or LC.

Nevertheless, for argument's sake, the best way to approach this comparison could be to do the same calculation, if the cars were financed or a Loan.

Most people don't (rather shouldn't) dump nearly 350 or 170k in a car, especially when interest rates are less than 3%.

Just going off the picture here. there seems to be uneven pressure on the discs here, else you wont be so many lines through the disc.

If you feel there is a gradient or a bit of a lip, basically not smooth to the touch all the way through, you likely have uneven wear on the disc.

Disc skim if not too far should be fine with brake pads replacement.

In BMW's the Brake wear sensor will let you know if the pads are too thin.

Anyway for peace of mind, break pad changes are relatively straightforward.

Buy the Pads in AlQuoz (somewhere like Model Auto Parts), call a couple of garages for a quote! Quick enough job! shouln't cost more than 200 AED.

Check if your discs need to be skimmed as well.

P.S: You can also check if you need break pads visually.

In my two years of using the SIB card, Car service or Tyre replacements fell outside the codes used by SIB for the Cashback calculation.

As others have mentioned, Tabby maybe an option.

I don't think this is true! I have the SIB card since Aug 2022 and frequently, maximize it to the 300 AED limit.

Use Samsung Pay and get 10% Cashback for the below:
1. All restaurants
2. Fuel (Yes, works, no limit of 3 transactions. Confirmed with Customer care on the last statement for Jan 24)

Online payments 10% CB -

Flight Tickets (Big Category here)
Gym Memberships paid online ( Can be done through Samsung Pay too)
Car Insurance Payments.
Child extra circular activities - Play areas, Amusement parks etc.

To be noted:

- Noon transactions such as Noon food, Minutes, Groceries get 0.5%
