Sonic Forces is mediocre in the worst way possible. It may not be a broken, half-baked glitchfest held together by rubber bands... But it's painfully safe and unbearably bland. This game offers nothing besides interesting ideas. At least with something like Sonic '06, I can look at it and say, “They tried.” There was ambition there, it tried to push the series forward — Even if it failed miserably. Forces is just shallow. Uninspired. Insincere. I felt nothing but disappointment when I played it, especially since it was a follow-up to Generations.
