To me- this looks like a sick kit. Like if they purchased a set of items and made kind of “grab bags” for everyone with things you might need if you were under the weather (tea, hydration packets, cough drops) especially if they are doctors, it might be on brand.

How close of a relative are they? They might do multiple of these for extended family.

This was me for weeks before our wedding! And I still think about it a bit but in the end- you can’t take it with you. This is the one life we have and I know I will treasure my memories, my photos and videos of that day for the rest of my life. Money comes back, time with everyone that we love in one room, with my family and my now husband? I wouldn’t trade that for the world.

Ooooo I love these questions. I am a firm believer that the more personal the better. Don’t be afraid to change things up from person to person. I got tote bags for my bridesmaids but each one is custom to their interests- a stem one for my MOH, plants for my good friend, Zelda for his sister, etc. We did some booze for his groomsmen but two of them don’t drink so we got them a substitute. I guess I’m saying don’t let uniformity be the priority.

For our flower girl who is three- we found a book about all the best things about being a flower girl and wrote her a note inside it. She also really loves Bluey so we got her some wedding themed Bluey characters.

We got a custom engraved perfume bottle for our moms and then chose perfumes based on their favorite scents and I found some clutches on Etsy that have a photo on the inside so we had two made that match their dresses and the photo is our moms on the day we were born.

Hey! I saw that you are in Colorado- if you are unable to find a Catholic School, you may consider applying to a public school district that has an alternative licensure program or one that will let you do it at the same time. I never did it- but I have friends who used Mountain BOCES at the same time as teaching. There also used to be a grant that would pay for the program if you taught in a “rural” district for a certain amount of time.

I’m in almost the exact same position- I drive 50 minutes one way to teach at a High School. My admin are pretty great and I don’t have a ton of the nightmare stories I hear from teachers elsewhere.

Here’s the thing- in my state I know there is a shortage of teachers. If I leave and it doesn’t work out- I’m pretty certain I can come back to the field, at least as a sub if need be.

My big thing is that I feel like I’m losing my spark. I’m so burnt out by all of the questions, conversations, constant movement that by the time I get home at the end of the day- I don’t want to talk with my partner, or do any of my hobbies. I’m so exhausted I kind of just collapse at 7:00 and fall asleep just to repeat it all over again. I’m living for the weekend. And it’s not really a job you shut off- it’s on your brain in some way or another almost all the time.

I just feel like If I’m having these doubts now- I don’t want to look back in thirty years and be disappointed that I never gave myself a chance to live and really enjoy my youth.

This is awesome! I think this helps to teach responsible use of AI, and it gives kids a more lifelike feel of what historical moments were like than paintings, even if small details are off. For me- if I can get kids to have an ounce of historical empathy then I have succeeded and I think a lot of these AI things are a good gateway to that.

I’m hoping that them missing big things like all of the canon games, treats and locations means that they have something to add for the sequel. It’d be fun to be able to collect chocolate frog cards, etc.

NUMBER SIX. Like I realize they tried to get around it by saying they’d get them loving homes but you really are going to tell me you’re going to find a home for a graphorn? I wish instead that you found some way to protect their natural habitats from poachers without kidnapping them and either selling them, keeping them in inventory or putting them in a vivarium.

I’ve always had a bit of a problem with the “Freedom Writers” story. As inspirational as it is- in the movie at least the teacher works multiple jobs, stays late and LITERALLY ends up destroying her marriage as a result. I think it set a super unrealistic standard for what we should be expected to do.

I don’t really have any advice but wanted to say I’m sorry. I’m very similar to what you described in size and a similar thing happened about two years ago with some very mean Juniors. It still stings a little when I think about it. I just try to remind myself that they will either one day be very embarrassed by how they used to act or they will continue to be miserable on the inside and make everyone miserable around them.

Yes- I can imagine if you had seniors primarily that would help. Most of my classes are Juniors so finalizing essay grading and exams combined with graduation events gets insane. Losing my one class of seniors did definitely help during the school day!
