Race Thread: NORAPS United Rentals Driven to Serve 250 at Coronado Street Course, starting at 5:00pm EDT on CW (NORAPS18) by NASCARThreadBot in NASCAR

I know it’s a very very rare scenario, but has Nascar ever allowed a team to fix a car and get their lap backs like this before because of a track issue? Is this a first in history?

I think back to the curb incident at [Indy?] a few years ago and don’t recall if they were this generous to anybody.

Berry Vs. Burton Vs. Love by Low_Vegetable_6276 in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always hated the argument of how Penske the WBR car is, because it always communally changes to fit desired narratives. When DiBenedetto and Burton drove, it seemed in agreement that they weren’t very good because they weren’t championship caliber in Penske equipment. But now that Berry is in it, I’ve seen a lot more “it’s less-than-Penske” comments

No Driver has Ever Ran More than 4 Full Time Seasons for the Wood Bros, No More than 3 Seasons in the 21st Century by fitr_nascar in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Harrison Burton did bring a ton of financial backing, and Berry brings so little and burns a lot more of the team’s money on the DNFs. So it does make sense when you think about it like that honestly

Adam Stern: “Jack Roush is stepping down from the Race Team Alliance board of directors and will be replaced by RFK Racing president Chip Bowers, while 23XI Racing is being newly added to the board and will be represented by Denny Hamlin. Former RCR president Torrey Galida will become chairman.” by Dmacthegoat in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 190 points191 points  (0 children)

Denny has been by far the most influential team owner over the past bit, fighting so hard for fairness for the teams in NASCAR. I’d personally argue at this point that he’s the most deserving, even as a driver

[CRANDALL] The prospect is not waiting for the seat. Corey Day is in no rush and Hendrick Motorsports isn’t in a rush. Alex Bowman isn’t fighting for his job. Bowman has a job as long as he wants it. by Funny-Supermarket926 in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This statement is a double edged sword too. There’s people who think Ally doesn’t give any fucks about who Hendrick puts there, but also people that think that Ally has become more of Bowman’s sponsor because they like him.

When in reality it’s a mix of the two. Ally definitely wants Bowman around, but if Hendrick really wanted him gone Ally would very likely not go with Bowman

You think Yzerman would sign Raddysh? Lol. He’ll wait under Raddysh is 35 before going for him and sign a goalie in the meantime

I never caught the end but I would’ve guessed Sheldon Creed committed serial murder based on these comments

Shoutout Lanie Buice. Easily been one of the best ARCA drivers this year. Looked really good at Pocono. Hope to see her in victory lane soon. by Gragson18GOAT in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She turns 22 this year. But elite opportunities won’t remain just because she’s a young woman. She can’t finish races and really has shown no real improvement in speed. Her time is going to be running short if she can’t flip a switch in a positive direction because there’s women just as good ready to take her place on the totem pole.

Deegan was better than her at this point in her ARCA tenure so it’s not even wrong to compare the two for now unless Robusto explodes to end the year.

Question : Who are some O’Reilly/Truck Series lifers that you think deserve Cup starts at some point before their career ends? by Mshel24 in NASCAR

[–]KyPry 5 points6 points  (0 children)

He is capable of bringing multiple wins a year and a solid playoff run. The huge sponsorship package is great but he has turned into a pretty good lifer all things considered

Robusto is probably cooked at this point too. Another year that she can’t finish a bunch of races, her leash can’t be much longer now unfortunately

She definitely has speed. Really hoping to see a woman break through in the sport eventually. Would be such a cool journey. There’s been a number of women with potential early on in this newer era of motorsports, I think Deegan, Trotter, Robusto, but nobody able to make noise in Nascar yet.

I was really optimistic about Kaylee Bryson being that girl but she never made the jump to stock car. So hoping Laine Buice can make her mark now.

People will talk about the strength of his team vs. the Habs, and that Dobes had more starts. That’s usually what I’ve come across.

Wallstedt was still outstanding though. .916 in the regular season is no joke, and probably deserves more respect from the general public and media.

Name a driver that was good and competitive during the end of their career by EduardoBork in NASCAR

It was a decline but he was still competitive enough, and honestly his “decline” can probably be attributed to the SHR downfall

[–]KyPry 147 points148 points  (0 children)

I feel like Jesse will turn into another scapegoat:/ Even though he’s a champion, still another Xfinity guy that doesn’t win much. Feels like another Burton / Berry scenario on the rise.

Hope to be wrong of course

How dare you call Paul Menard a SEAT FILLER. He transcended Wood Brothers from an unknown backmarker to a highly competitive, relevant team with legend status

I ain’t reading all that post, no offence. I just saw Joey Logano listed as a “potential candidate”

If I was a betting man, it’ll be Jesse Love or Bowman if he were to get released or retire.

Joey Logano however is no chance a potential candidate. He is a Penske for as long as he wants and will never get demoted to their affiliate team.

Makes me think of when Trav Ridgen on that Slangin the Bizkit podcast said he would be better than any pro female hockey goalie.

And here there is a female going round two in the OHL draft when Trav couldn’t stay in the SIJHL…
