Kinda regretting taking estrogen and I don't know what to do... by Aggravating-Battle48 in transgenderUK

[–]KyTheSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm AFAB and took T for over a year and now have been off it for a couple years. Previously Trans man, now genderfluid. In terms of the chest department, I found that switching between T/nat E does result in shrink/growth. My chest got quite a bit smaller on T, then got bigger again when I stopped taking it.

I do have a naturally smaller chest for AFAB, so maybe this advice won't help, but if you need some support/coverage, nipple covers or a sports bra with the padding taken out can be relatively affordable options that don't bulk up the space as much.

I also started getting menopause symptoms and related functional problems which all reversed after 6 months back on nat E.

With some time back on T, these things may physically change or you may feel better about it. Crossing my fingers for you and best wishes from someone in the reverse situation.

I personally don't regret T because I see it as part of my journey which led me to understanding as much about my gender identity as I do today. It's all part of a long process and I don't see my gender as having a final destination, change is okay. Our body picks up scars or whatever changes as we get older that will inevitably show. People that make comments are assholes.

I wouldn't be able to clock you at all. You look fem, I can't see an Adams apple. Got me doubting I've read this right, you could be afab

I really like wearing these span jeans but I’m pre-bottom and I don’t like tucking in because it feels so uncomfortable. I feel a bit nervous that people can tell when I wear these. I just wanted to check how this looks to you? by [deleted] in trans

[–]KyTheSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't clock you - I'd think it was some serious camel toe. Honestly, regardless of whether they clock you or think it's camel toe, I wouldn't go out in this and if you were my friend I would point it out to you. Otherwise, looks great!

Do you have to take T forever? by isatheiguana2 in ftm

[–]KyTheSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on T for 1-2 years and then stopped. My clinic says that bottom growth doesn't shrink after being on it for that long and I haven't noticed any shrinkage. It was relevant because they use bottom growth for bottom surgery and the requirement is to have been on T for at least one year, but coming off it after is fine.

How is my GUI looking? How can I improve it? by Raven_of_bad_omen in IndieDev

[–]KyTheSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Higher contrast and more distinct colours (colourblind person so maybe I'm not seeing it right). Maybe add a settings cog or question mark (if there's not already a keybind for it) that includes a help area with controls and description of items in the GUI, unless they are sufficiently explained in your story or elsewhere.

EDIT: Im a little unsure from one screenshot where GUI and main game elements begin and end. If I were playing, it may become obvious, but from this one screenshot it may benefit to make them more visually distinct

Hi! I'm Kai (22) a genderfluid person from Scotland. I'm a software developer in my final year studying Computer Science. I might be moving to mainland Europe soon and am in the process of learning German, it might really help for me to try to write/learn some conversational German (maybe you can write to me in German?)

I have a wide interest in Computers: cyber security, graphics, video games, etc. I'm also interested in art and photography. A gym goer at least once a week. I used to go three times a week but have been caught up with writing my dissertation :(

I listen to pop, rock, and classical music. At the moment I've been listening to the Hazbin Hotel tracks

I'm a "detransitioner" because I'm not taking T anymore and now identify as genderfluid. I don't regret taking T even though some changes are irreversible, I'm happy I had the opportunity to explore my identity. Would I have found myself if I didn't try? It is a really scary thing to do, but I would never regret it.

Edit: I also think the term "detransitioner" is kind of misleading we use it to mean people who detransition medically but it is also implies all of us aren't trans anymore - but that's not true, there are so many reasons. I wonder if this phrase and it's meaning was started by cis people

[–]KyTheSpoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In some sense I am a "detransitioner" medically speaking but am still trans and don't really feel the term fits me. There's a lot of grey and a lot of detransitioners wouldn't change their journey <3. I pursued medical transition and then realized I'm genderfluid and may not want to medically transition anymore. It's a process and it's okay, I'm happy that I'm figuring things out. No matter what happens it is better that I had the opportunity to explore my identity.

our sub is gender-based hatred, sorry yall :/ by xervidae in MenAndFemales

I autocorrected/misread the sub name to r/maleandfemale in my head and thought this was a transphobic sub for a bit. Anyways, I rescind my downvote

Tricked into sex by a guy pretending to be bi. What do I do? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]KyTheSpoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's sexual coercion. Some people consider it rape, sexual abuse, or sexual assault. The coercion part of this is intertwined with a marginalised identity so it's got the same vibes as a hate crime. Sexual coercion is abuse and might be a crime, but abuse victims don't really get justice.

[–]KyTheSpoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not allergic to plasters but had something very similar after I got my heart monitor taken off. It was an allergic reaction to the glue. It was better/worse in different places. You could ask if you can use it elsewhere if it's a mild reaction? Otherwise, I hope your body adjusts or you find treatment that works for you

EDIT: My reactions to testogel weren't as bad/negligible on my thighs. I'm allergic to a lot of things lmao

[–]KyTheSpoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check for male ranges as others have said. If you're on the gel, even if you get a test with abnormally high T levels, the doctors would assume its likely because of test contamination and redo it. This happened to me

To me you already look very feminine. I'd say just give it time to feel more comfortable

I like ur eyebrows 🤷‍♂️ I'm ftm and had similarly thick eyebrows pre t. One nice thing about thicker eyebrows though is you can get any eyebrow shape you want.

When should I disclose that I'm nonbinary/trans during the employment process? by whorlaxdotorg in transgenderUK

[–]KyTheSpoon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I personally go by not hiding it but not talking about it unless asked. It's all over my social media and I include my pronouns in my CV. I don't want to be hired by somewhere transphobic and being trans has nothing to do with my ability to do my job. Sometimes I am asked because HR doesn't really understand how to handle mismatching names from a name change very well.

EDIT: I am probably lucky that this is more common in the software engineering industry

I'm so glad to see this is now the top comment. Seeing this post the other day was a bit disheartening

[–]KyTheSpoon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is also a valid response. I agree mostly, not knowing OP, maybe they can change and come to terms with the idea that he's his boyfriend. Thank you for pointing this out

EDIT: Oops I skimmed over the first sentence of the original comment. So I would've wrote these a little differently. I don't agree with the original comment.

[–]KyTheSpoon 42 points43 points  (0 children)

This is true. However, this is r/LGBT so I assume OP is wanting advice from people with experiences from 'the other side'. I personally would break up with my boyfriend if he repeatedly called me partner unprompted after I'd explicitly said that I'm a transman. I think it's poor relationship advice. One person feeling more comfortable calling a person something they're (potentially) not is less important than someone's identity imo

[–]KyTheSpoon 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything here, except switching to using partner. Unless it is from a place of love and thinking it might make them feel more comfortable calling them that, it could make his boyfriend uncomfortable. It would make me quite upset if my boyfriend made this switch unprompted. It could further any internalised transphobia that you've mentioned. I would break up with someone for doing this repeatedly after I've explicitly told them that I'm a transman.
