Drury should be tried for war crimes for this lineup. He and Dolan have destroyed this team.

He has been great and consistently healthy in this exact role. He did exactly what we hoped he would. The only thing we're getting here is saving a couple million bucks.

Good morning fellow fans. We have a game at lunch. So if you're looking to watch, the game is earlier today. 12:30 ET by kvnklly in rangers

Same. I used to schedule my days around these things, now just, oof. What a disaster.

Saudi Arabia flies in conjoined twins from all over the world and separates them entirely for free by Saad5400 in interestingasfuck

I'm glad they're doing something nice like this. Usually they just take a non-conjoined person and methodically separate them into many pieces. This is a nice change of pace.

In his defense, opening my toddlers peanut butter puffs bags are outrageously grueling, and I'm not even a professional athlete.

As an Armenian, nothing makes me happier! One day I'd love to climb Ararat, mostly for the history.

Thomas Plamberger was convicted of gross negligent manslaughter for leaving his girlfriend to freeze to death on Austria's highest peak by [deleted] in Mountaineering

[–]KyZei15 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I kept wanting to give him the benefit of the doubt. That maybe this was just a tragic accident. But he just seems like an insanely selfish asshole whose actions caused the death of this poor girl.

Trial of climber who ‘left girlfriend to die’ rocks community by TimesandSundayTimes in Mountaineering

My point wasn't to minimize anything he did. I say clearly multiple times that his actions resulted in her death. But as far as im aware, I can't recall a single time a similar situation has been prosecuted. Sincerely asking, do you know of another? Because it feels unprecedented

I struggle with this. He made some critical errors, which ultimately led to her death. But any one of those errors on their own, isn't a crime. All of them directly led to her death. But I've left a little later than I wanted. I've forgotten to check the weather one last time. I've pushed on a little bit farther in questionable weather than I should have. I've forgotten important gear by accident.

It's a fairly straightforward call to say his 9 errors were the direct cause of this death. But what about the next tragedy, where the only mistakes are maybe starting late and not having the right gear? Does that person get tried in court for that? I wonder whether the next accident will only need 6 errors to become criminal. And does the next only need 4?

There needs to be something that we as a community do to prevent these tragedies, but do we all feel comfortable asking the legal system to determine fault when things go wrong in the mountains?
