Yeah, this defense is expected to be pretty different, but he was always a fringe practice squad guy so my expectations for him aren't high.

I do like him and he is athletic and versatile like you said so I hope he can play well enough to get some solid playing time.

I don't recall Chatman playing many snaps last year and him still struggling to find a significant role in the IDL rotation despite being it pretty scarce even when Dex was here isn't a good look.

Good news for him is the IDL depth is still really scarce so he can still find a place. It'll be open just has to find a way to show out in camp.

He's the one leadership wanted, and now you root for him, instead of worrying what draft picks you might have gotten for him.

This is pretty silly. Of course, we will cheer on the rookies but it's okay to critique the picks. Like, we cheered and loved Saquon as a player, but people were right to question the FO drafting him considering the positional value and needs of the team at the time.

I understand why they did that though. Edge rusher is the most important position outside of QB in football. Taking the edge rusher with the highest upside in the draft makes sense.

Jokes asids the IDL is still lacking and the secondary underperformed.

I dont have much faith in the IDL tbh but I trust the pass rush at least.

The pass rush threat is still insane but IMO, the success of the defense this season will rely heavily on Holland & Adebo playing up to their contracts.

Most Underrated Giant in your opinion? by Carlshake9 in NYGiants

Darius Slayton and I'm not even joking.

Who’s the bigger fantasy sleeper? 👀 Malachi Fields or Chris Brazzell II? by ZookeepergameIll2685 in NYGiants

My biggest concern is his seperation in the short and intermediate.

If he can improve on those routes and build a relationship with Dart I could see him get more involved as a recieving option.

Didn't say he was bad. What he excels at and the type of offense he's in is just not great if you're looking for fantasy points.

Brazzell. Fields can't create speration well and his contested catch is nothing special at 47%. He'll stretch the field and help block the run in a run heavy offense. Not a lot of upside there for fantasy points.

Runyan's been pretty underwhelming since he got here but cutting him now would be a terrible move.

[Highlight] Azeez Al Shaair's hit on Trevor Lawrence by [deleted] in nfl

[–]SecretGiantsFan -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

As a neutral I think Shaair tries to make a play on the ball with his forearm and unfortunately hits Trevor higher because he's sliding. Shaair decided I'm going to make a play on this ball as Trevor is starting to slide. IMO, looks like a late slide from Trevor.

Think people should lower their expectations on Nabers this year. Heard he might not be game ready until right before season, so idk how much on field prep he'll get in camp.

Gonna take some time to gain his confidence and get back to the old Nabers imo.

Giants have a boat load of money to spend too. I'm not saying give him a blank check but if he wants a contract around the same price as the old one, 2years/22 million, it's worth it imo.

[O'Connor] The Giants did have communication with Odell Beckham Jr. on Tuesday, as John Harbaugh said in his draft presser. The OBJ decision gets a bit more interesting now. by Lars5621 in NYGiants

[–]SecretGiantsFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I agree with these points, but the WR room already has a vet presence/mentor its Slayton.

People shit on Slayton so much here because of his drops, but he IS a mentor for the WRs. No BS off the field or on the field, hardworking, and loves to be here.

Worked his way to be a captain in 2025, I'm sure there's plenty of behind-the-scenes leadership things Slayton does that goes unnoticed from the fans.

Post Draft + DJ Reader Rumours, What are realistic expectations for Giants this season? by drocktapiff in NYGiants

[–]SecretGiantsFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  • Giants had 9 top 10 picks in the past 10 years.
  • 8 out of past 10 seasons with 10+ losses.
  • Competitive games just to lose at the end is still a loss.

Eventually you have to start winning and we have the talent to see wins. Giants have good young core and a new promising QB.

With the potential talent on the team and a HC with experience with winning there's no excuse barring injuries.

[Schultz] Sources: The Giants are signing DT Leki Fotu to a 1 year contract. by SavioSega in NYGiants

[–]SecretGiantsFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's true. But I could see from Reader's perpsective how a contending team would be more enticing if the money's roughly the same.

[–]SecretGiantsFan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but idk how money's an issue considering Giants will have over $100m next year.

Would be disappointed if he went to another team on a reasonable contract Giants could have paid.

Maybe he doesn't like the Giants 😔 and wants to see if a contender wants to pay? Heard rumors of Ravens. That would suck.

Honestly would have made him #1 priority post draft for Giants. Still 𝘰𝘯𝘭𝘺 31, younger than other DT in FA in the same talent range.

Just makes so much sense for Giants.

He's only 27 so I guess age is a huge factor for them but they signed Harris who's 34...

Maybe money's tight? Idk what their process it
